I so use to love VMI with all my ❤️. Now, not so much. My father was one of VMI's
Supts. 50 years ago. I remember watching a VMI Parade....and him saying..."There go my boys!" I used to think there was a true VMI bond...but Facebook has so proved me wrong. Guys...that I thought were my friends have been so rude and unfriendly. Politics in this day and time have been unreal. Lots of things have been changing and happening these past couple of years. There needed to be change. History isn't going away...but we NEED to move forward. My father was the Supt. when the Vietnam War was ending. Being in the military...or attending a military school wasn't the most popular thing to do. Life back in the 70's was full of it's own turmoil...but we are living in an alternate reality today. Here's to the change that is happening and good things happening in the future. VMI will always have a special place in my heart...but right now it has left me heart-broken. 💔 Almost 20 years later...Neither General Shell, nor my father...both buried in Lexington.... even have a plaque from VMI at their graves. They have been completely forgotten. So..this old Army Brat..that I will always be... I am walking away and not looking back. I will remember the times of long ago..and those memories. ❤️💟💛🐀🦘

I went to VMI to visit friends back in 1970….the greatest cadets in the State of Va..I grew up in New Market,Va and the cadets will never be forgotten…

How proud all true Virginians are of VMI and the Corp. There is one exception however, and he is a graduate of VMI. His name is Ralph Northam, and is the current governor of Virginia. He agreed to address the graduating Class of 2019, and now he has backed out. He is a disgrace to all of his Brother Rats.

I happen to think Governor Northam has done a good job for Virginia...during this pandemic. The issue in the yearbook...was not good...but it is in the past...and we all need to move onward. I honestly believe that my father would have been proud of Governor Northam and the job he has done as Governor of Virginia. So...Rah Virginia Mil, and here is to Governor Northam..

Stonewall Jackson's statue is at New Market...and people now can choose to go see it and learn about Stonewall Jackson and history.

And now U VA has decided it will NOT fire a 21 gun salute for our Veterans on Veterans Day. Someone might get triggered if they heard gun fire. What a shame Virginia has become. The Commonwealth, the Old Dominion, the mother of states and statesmen will not honor her veterans.
