SO cool, and Dr. Lila is so easy to relate to. Wonderful

So do the little fingers that connect determine what or how something is controlled (assuming one is from the brain and the other to part of the body typically)? If finger 1 connects to finger A does it perform one function whereas finger 1 connecting to finger B does another function, or does that entire connection do one thing, regardless of how the fingers are connected?

So I subscribed because I think your videos are super fascinating. But then you went and added a Spice Girls song to the outro and now I'm in love. 😂

Thank you for this! I'm a teacher and am wondering if my interpretation of this is correct. When students are working on a problem, they're trying to link new information to existing knowledge. Would this video show that? And also, when students practice math facts wrong (like 3x7=22), would this video also show the solidification of "practice makes permanent" (and in this case, in a bad way)?

Hi Dr Lila. I know you'll probably never read this, and even if you do you'll probably be too busy to respond. I'll take my shot regardless and ask anyway on the off chance that you do respond.
    1) Can a neuron fire across more than one synapse simultaneously or is it just a single synapse at a go?
    2) Given that a neuron can have as many as 10000 connections to other neurons, how does a neuron decide which synapse gets to transmit the action potential?
    3) Given that there are several types of neurons and different regions of the brain suited for different purposes, do these regions have the different types of neurons in the same quantities or in different quantities depending on what that particular region is better suited for?
    4) Are self excitatory neurons common and evenly distributed in the brain, or are they found more in some regions than others?
    Thank you in advance.

Back when my son was born, I thought to myself that theoretically, if I let him experience EVERYTHING with all his senses, then many more synapses would connect when he was a baby. I thought that was a good prerequisite for his little brain... 😅 ... today he is almost 11 years old and he is above average intelligent. Maybe it has, among other things, to do with the laying of the foundation stone of many branched synapses... 🤔🤓🧐

How long does it take to connect ?

How does it do that outside of a brain?

Interesting. I did subscribe but then noticed you don't bother responding to people who ask questions.
