I really appreciate the green bean casserole, fresh broccoli, and mac & cheese tricks! And corn bread!! I was wishing I had a way to make cornbread to go with my Brunswick Stew and now I know how to do it. Yay! And I always appreciate Miss Olivia's honest reviews. She's the best!
Thank you for these quick air fryer side dishes! They're a game-changer, especially for those Thanksgiving rush hours. The variety from crispy green beans to cheesy scalloped potatoes is such a tasty spread. Plus, the step-by-step guide ensures things run smoothly. Cooking has never felt more efficient! 😋🍲
I prick a few holes in the hard squash and soften it in the microwave for about a few minutes (check it for ease of inserting the knife tip and heat longer if necessary). Cool it some so I don’t burn my fingers, then slice into it and scoop out the seeds. It won’t be cooked through, so you can continue as per your recipe. Softening the peel makes it safer and easier to cut.
Those recipes - 5 out of 5, and I look forward to trying them. Those kids - Googolplex out of 5, especially Olivia's expressions when she really likes something!
Hi Cathy! If it weren't for you my Cosori would still be in the box! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and inspiring me to use my air fryer. I use it almost every single day. I do have a question for you. Do you still recommend the Mistifi oil sprayer? I do see it listed in your favorites list. The one you're using in this video looks different from the one on Amazon. I've tried several and they all end up either squirting out in a stream or fanning out too widely and putting out too much oil. I really want this next sprayer to be a keeper. I so wish someone would come out with a mister that actually works.
Anyone here from Germany? I was just watching your best air fryers video and I'm going back and forth between the Cosori Dual Blaze and the Pro II, but after I looked all over Amazon Germany and other German shops even the official Cosori one, all they sell here seems to be the Pro 1, at least all I find is the "CP158-AF" model and that seems to be the Pro 1, while the 2 is "CS358-AF". Anyone know why? Seems like it eliminated itself automatically and I simply go for the Dual Blaze, which is available.
Before cutting the acorn squash, zap it whole in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes. That will make the shell soften a bit so you can cut it open in half easier!
The sweet potato with the mini marshmallows is a favorite of mine. I will be making the one you featured with canned yams instead and will probably cut the recipe in half. I have 2 different sizes of Ramekins to use. I'm gonna see if I can make it in a mug instead of the air fryer first.
Now for me,me, I love sweet potatoes, squash, pumpkins with just butter, salt and pepper. I like the natural sweetness of them. To add marshmallows or brown sugar makes it waaay too sweet and I lose all that natural sweetness of the food.
Just realized, that you use the peeler exactly the other way round, over there in USA 😅 we peel torwards ourselves.. second video I see this 😊 nothing to do with your great ideas 💡 greetings from Germany 🙏
It honestly depends on what I'm making! There are pros and cons to both. Have you watched this video? th-cam.com/video/wHRB5tvLPUQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0MSMXvsibQ9zNi8Z
The looks of horror on the kiddos was one of the best parts. I would say that your son's 3/5 score on the beets is a huge endorsement since he obviously doesn't like them. I got the vibe of: For beets it's good. I've been intimidated by cooking raw beets so now I have something to try.
Why wasn't that cheese-cream-corn recipe made in the air fryer? Could these recipes be cooked in metal or pyrex round or square bowls in the air fryer. Or am I just adding an insulator to the cooking process?
I have theBeautiful air fryer by Drew Barrymore and I’m am having an issue with the temperature lowering itself while cooking. Is that normal? I don’t think it is 😞
Do you know how long it would take in your air fryer to cook turnips cut the way you just did those potatoes to get soft? Thank you How do you stay so thin eating all these foods you're testing?
I've not made parsnips before! I'd start it at 350 and ocok for a bit and see how they are feeling. I assume you want them fork tender? Crank up the heat and do it for a few more minutes possibly? Let me know if you figure it out!
I gave up on finding a sprayer for oil. Hubby brought home the silver tube pumper Misto (?) and it kept clogging. I still have it but will not use. Does the lever-pump plastic bottles have to say ‘food safe’ on them to be considered….you know, the ones sold for water based products like windshield cleansing sprayers? I’m so frustrated in trying to find any store that will have one for sale…..
@caitjohnson Same here, have never found one that sprays like this, and I bought on Amazon as suggested by another air fryer cook channel. Worked first 2 times now it's a stream!
The Misto is terrible. I had that one for about 2 months and it started having issues. This is the one that has been the longest lasting for me! Have you tried it? amzn.to/3ubmcyW
Probably because you have drippings/grease/fat at the base of the basket and the bottom burner is heating it up. Use the broil function to turn off the bottom burner and that should solve the problem.
Did y'all hear what the little girl said? 'The burnt green beans taste like corn' saying things like that will have me running away from this air fryer.
That Air Fryer is a “Best In Class!” If you don’t like the green bean recipe then don’t make it. But I would suggest “don’t throw the baby out with the bath water!” smh 🤦♀️
@@anothergoldilocks1077 I'm not throwing it out. Far from it because there's an air fryer better than that but looks exactly the same. The model number is CAF-L501-KUS smaller air fryer with a bigger basket. That's the one I'm thinking.
If you cook your beets in the Instant Pot, the peelings slide right off with no mess! Then cut up and roast fewer minutes.😊
Thanks for the tip!

You are so welcome!
Your an awesome mom ❤ I love all that you do 🎉
Cathy, I’m about to buy a Cosori. Please tell me which is better Cosori Dualblaze or Cosori Turboblaze? Thank you!
Your daughter took my breath away for a minute. She reminds me of my little girl who had the audacity of growing up and moving to Seattle.
The sound is beautiful!

Those were ALL fabulous! I can't wait to try them!
Have fun! Let me know which ones you end up doing!
I actually did your air fryer roasted carrots for Thanksgiving this year.
Those recipes - 5 out of 5, and I look forward to trying them. Those kids - Googolplex out of 5, especially Olivia's expressions when she really likes something!
Thank you! Always helpful and useful!

Awesome video. Looks all so delicious
Let me know if you make one of them! Thanks for watching!
Fabulous recipes!
Thank you 😊

Do these times and temps work for the Ninja Foodi Smart XL 2-basket fryer also?
Yep! It might need a little more time if that Ninja Foodi is less than 1700 watts.
Before cutting the acorn squash, zap it whole in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes. That will make the shell soften a bit so you can cut it open in half easier!
Brilliant hack - thank you!

A very alien concept for us in the UK sweet food is a dessert not part of a roast dinner
Save the squash seeds to season and roast for a healthy tasty snack
Instead of throwing out broccoli stems, peel them and eat. I love the stems.
Love the peeled stems, sliced in a stir-fry.
I love the stems. When I buy broccoli I give the tops to my friend.❤
Can you make the scalloped potatoes in the bottom of the regular air fryer pro?
Yes you can take the tray out and cook it up that way OR put an oven safe dish in your air fryer.
Tu for sharing ❤
🤗

Hehe, another German here, noticed the same thing! 😂
No front! Yummy recipes. Keep on air-fryin'!
Ha ha! So funny!!!

Strange comment. Does it really matter which way you peel?
@@maxineb9598why strange?!? Nothing rude, no assault, just something noticed and told!!
Could you give some tips for a "hate any kind of seafood " Scottish Granny ? 😅
Cathy do you use the Dual more than the regular Cosori? I’m trying to make the decision which one to order.

My new air fryer has a bake button, when do I use that?
Is the scalloped potatoe recipe in your cookbook
Not my first one, nope.
I love roasted beets, pickled beets, all beets
Yessss

I have 2 Mistifi bottles (1 for Avocado oil & 1 for Olive oil) that are still going strong after 2 years!!!
Thank you everyone…..at least now I know I am not alone in my frustration, and it isn’t ME that’s the broken person trying to be good.
Okay what kind of magic potato peeler is that one that actually WORKS!? Mine always get clogged up with peels.
It's a Y Peeler! This is the one I have! :) amzn.to/47sLCXa
Hi Cathy it's me Diane I've been said so how are you guys are doing
Were those rolls from frozen?
Can you tell me a bout your cosori please
My duel blaze smokes but my Corsori with the basket did not-why??
Probably because you have drippings/grease/fat at the base of the basket and the bottom burner is heating it up. Use the broil function to turn off the bottom burner and that should solve the problem.
I steam my green beans in the microwave
360 celsius or Fahrenheit??
Fahrenheit
Beets taste like eating dirt to me! Thanks for the other tips.
Have learned that beats tasting like dirt is hereditary. I hate them and cilantro tastes like soap.
😃 you are welcome!
Poke that acorn squash with a fork and microwave it for 2-3 minutes. It will cut like butter and then roast from there!
Great tip, thank you!
I've noticed that Olivia does not like food that is not sweet
😂😂😂 I'd say that's a pretty good assessment! (although she loves radishes and walnuts, which is surprising for a little kid!)
Wear gloves, and save the red hands from when working with the beets.
:)
I don’t like the speed talking hard to follow.
