Great recipe ideas. Thanks. My favorite salad is called 24 hour salad that you can make the day before. It's an old recipe from the 70s but a family favorite. In a square Casserole dish (9x12 or smaller depending on size of the crowd) layer shredded lettuce, sliced onions (optional), sliced water chestnuts (drained), frozen peas (unthawed), spread mayonnaise on top covering the whole top. Refridgerate overnight. Sometimes I add a layer of grape tomatoes and thinly sliced seedless cucumber on top just before serving.
I think this is the first instant pot recipe I've seen on the channel. I'd love to see some recipes where you use both the instant pot and airfryer. Cooking a turkey breast using only an airfryer is pushing it's limits. Sous vide in the instant pot might have helped.
Our one handed down dish can be used as a side or dessert. Place crushed saltines in the bottom of a bowl, add slices of the canned jelled cranberry, then top with cool whip. Keep layering until you've reached the top. I like to cut up a little of the cranberry to make a flower design on top. Try to make the night before so the cranberry has a chance to soften the crackers a little bit.
Hi Cathy! I just ordered your Cookbook in the digital version because I live in Australia.would have dearly loved the printed version..but nonetheless am soooo excited ! I've been watching all your videos and l Iove you and your family...amazing! Thank you for all your amazing advice...you're changing our lives at dinner time! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas....hugs Lindy from South Australia
I have a pressure cooker that I have had for years but never thought to cook my potatoes in it. Probably because my mom never cooked potatoes in her pressure cooker. I am going to have to try it.
I put 6 to 8 potatoes and 1/2 cup water in my pressure cooker and pressure cook for 5 minutes. I do a quick release, remove the potatoes and let them cool. I put them in a bowl in my refrigerator, uncovered. They are ready to use for hash browns, potato salad, fries, etc. It's a great time saver.
So my wife always says creamed corn tastes like cream crap, but Im happy to say she loved your version. Also, doing the potatoes on the pressure cooker was way easier that boiling. Thanks for the video!!!!
Love your idea on using Instapot for the mashed potatoes. We're just 2, so I've been making in microwave, super easy, especially for smaller quantities. I used to use REAL SALT, but there has been lab testing done and it's particularly high in aluminum, lead, and iron. Celtic sea salt is also high. I've switched to Vera Salt and Ava Jane's, both test for very low in the bad stuff including microplastics.
@judymullins9993 very nice and smooth, i seem to use less. Vera Salt just came out with a flaked salt. I've purchased Ava Jane's from Amazon but i got Vera Salt from their own website.
If you don't like cream corn/this is a great substitute... BUTTT If you're like me and Love cream corn, you have to start making Company Corn Bread! I swear to God, it will change your world!!!
I always ask my Mom to bring her Spinach Salad. You would need to leave out the pecans if your family has nut allergies, but I am sure it would be good without those added. In the spring and summer we use strawberries in place of the apples. For Salad: 1 pkg. spinach 1 each large apple peel, cored, and thinly sliced ½ cup crumbled blue cheese or Feta ½ cup candied pecans For Candied Pecans: 1 tbsp butter or margarine melted 1 tbsp brown sugar For French dressing: ½ cup Brown Sugar ½ cup Vegetable or Olive Oil ⅓ cup Vinegar (white or garlic infused) ⅓ cup ketchup 1tsp Worcestershire sauce or BBQ Sauce To prepare salad: 1. Toss spinach, apple, cheese, and candied pecans in serving bowl, toss gently, and add dressing To prepare candied pecans: 1. Take 1 tbsp melted butter or margarine in a small pan on low heat 2. Add 1 tbsp brown sugar to melted butter or margarine 3. Add pecans, cook 2 to 3 minutes, and remove to wax or parchment paper to dry. To prepare dressing: 1. Combine all the dressing ingredients in a covered jar or shaker and mix well to combine 2. Pour over salad just before serving.
That's not creamed corn. The "cream" comes from the starchy milk created by slicing it thinly off the cob in several passes and then scraping the cob to get it all. (Never flour or milk/cream.) It's a slow arduous process of stirring in the pan to cook it slowly and not let it scorch. If you don't have fresh corn on the cob available to make it properly, buy some McKenzie's creamed corn in the freezer section (it comes in chubs, like sausage or hamburger comes in). Simply defrost and warm up. Add a little butter if you like! It's delicious.
Hi Cathy!!! I dont use a Instant-Pot. Reminds me too much of a Pressure-Cooker. Thanks for all these 😋 yummy recipes today.I will be saving these for sure. Thanks again my dear friend!!!...Take Care... Great Video!!!...🦋
I have a question fer ya, sometimes when my instant pot starts it makes a pop noise, just started doin it. An its just 1 pop. Do ya know why its doin it? Thanks 🙂
Recipe for the turkey breast calls for bone-in but with ribs removed. I can't seen to find anything showing how to remove JUST the ribs. (I have never deboned anything before!). Any suggestions? (I have been a long-time subscriber and love your channel. Purchased my Cosori last year based on one of your videos!)
Is there any way to replay the webinar? I am Type 2 Diabetic and am really interested but I have to work during that time. Thanks in advance and it would be great if you could incorporate more KETO recipes more often too.
Made the cranberry jalapeno cream cheese dip according to the recipe on the Mel's Kitchen Cafe website and it was just ok and hardly anyone was eating it. I am not sure if it is the cumin or cilantro, but it those just don't seem to go very well with cranberries. Probably won't be making it again.
@@empoweredcooks After further evaluation (I am still eating what is left) I think I would eliminate the 1/2 tsp of cumin because even just that amount seems overpowering. The cilantro does add a somewhat citrusy flavor so that would still be ok for people that like the taste.
@@empoweredcooks Just wanted to add that I made a burrito with leftover ham, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy and the cranberry jalapeno dip tasted really good in it! I guess I will be making it again next year after all just for the leftovers!
Great analysis, thank you! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Wish you do more air fryer recipes for 2 people
I love all of your tips and recipes
I agree. Recipes for 2 people.. Have a great day.
@@elainenicholls7648but she has a big family 😮why don’t you just count down to two people, like if she says 10 potions divide by 5 etc.
