The police said they couldn’t do anything, and she just needed to explain the situation to insurance. They wouldn’t even send a car out to block the road off. It’s sad

How it is that 911 dispatchers always have to ask for a description of the car over, and over, and over, and over again? Ludicrous that they're still asking after the long chase at 9:23 is finally over. Aren't they writing this stuff into a record that can be shared with the next dispatch/operator?
I think they switched the caller to several different operators
@@Gibbs-rq4yg maybe, but there needs to be an effective way of sharing information. And if they don’t switch to other operators, they really do need to write the information down and have it ready. These are very simple things that they should already have down.

I've had to call emergency services twice in my life. And both times they have been slow, useless, and weirdly rude.
I'm just mystified that they seemed to be on the line with 911 for in excess of 10 minutes without getting a cruiser on the scene.

If it cost 30 dollars in gas just to go to and from work for 1 day then there's something wrong with the commute. Your logic is making zero sense. He had to pay for the damages yes. But telling him to get an uber instead is wrong unless she has to pay the bill for it since she prevented him from using his own vehicle.

Hit and run drivers, particularly the ones with no insurance, should face mandatory one-year jail terms, huge fines, and be required to pay restitution. Of course in this day and age, IF they are even arrested, they’ll be out of jail in a couple of hours and be given a traffic ticket.
Restitutions, minimum 1 year in jail, and not allowed behind the wheel of a motor vehicle for minimum of 5 years, then have to go through getting a license all over again from the beginning, also must maintain insurance coverage of at least 100k should they ever try to get a license and car again.
No insurance alone should have their wages garnished to pay for all the damages when they're caught and put at fault for any accident. None of this rabbit chase nonsense where the victim is forced to be out of pocket for something that wasn't even their fault.

The last clip I thought the cammer sped up to not let the guy in at first.
I watched it a few times and didn't notice any discernible change in speed of the cammer. He was driving at a steady rate base on the painted street lane divider.
I watched it a few times and it's hard to tell if he does or doesn't. The lane markings go by at about the same speed but he does close in on the white Ford Explorer at the same time.
One thing's for sure, a light tap on the brakes would have meant he didn't have to meet this guy personally.
Also, where was the run part? The clip ended without the guy actually running. In a hit and run compilation, I'd expect to see the run part.

Yeah this one was a lot more murky than the other clips, cause while the guy did change lanes w/o a turn signal, the cammer pulled a dick move and tried to speed up so he couldn’t get in, which is something I see occur A LOT.

They were trying to signal the at-fault car to stop and pull over. The car had hit them and kept going, making it a hit and run.

In my experience all 911 operators are completely useless. I’ve called them over a dozen times and the only time I got an effective operator was when it was actually a cop they transferred me to, so not an operator at all 🤦🏼♂️

Yes, I think that it is more likely to instigate the other person to break your windshield and destroy the camera, rather than de-escalate the situation. Just do not respond, ensure to back away and maintain distance and notify law enforcement.

Yep. Never a good idea - even if there's no traffic like in that vid. And with a dashcam, even if you "think" you've got the plate on video, speak the number out loud just in case it doesn't so you don't, yourself, don't have to be at fault for causing an accident as a result of chasing someone.

Not just pay the bill but continue paying the bill for 5 years with your increased insurance cost. That's deliberate destruction of property insurance may not cover your damage because you were breaking the law.

Hit and runs are horrible. Its so satisfying seeing these people get caught.
Back in late September, I was on my scooter and when I got to a crosswalk, it turned on saying I could cross. So I got on and started going. At the corner of my eye I saw this big suv turning from around the curb. I freaked out and pulled on my brakes as hard as I could, then they hit the whole front of the scooter, ruining the wheel and big pieces shattered across the street. They almost hit me too. I almost fell down but they didn't even pull over to see if I was ok, they just drove off! It was also during a red light and I saw that people in their cars were looking to see what happened through the windows, but nobody stopped to check on me. I unfortunately did not get the license plate because it all just happened so suddenly and i was focusing on trying to not get hit. After all that happened i was very shaken up and it was so scary but at least I did not get hurt and all I had was a very sore arm. I hope they get their karma and something bad happens to them!

the amount of times i watch videos like this and see multiple drivers speeding up to prevent someone from getting in their lane is ridiculous. literally everything could be prevented if they just tapped on the brake the tiniest amount yet they are too narcassistic or something to allow someone infront of them and now have to deal with an insurance claim and everything

i got hit by a drunk in orange county ca and the 911 dispatcher told me to stop following them or they wont send a police car. if this ever happens to you, ignore them and chase that useless scumbag. plates can be stolen. lessons learned
