No need to be more of a hero and confronting the other driver more than that. That's what the police are for. So, all around good civic duty.
Everything done well, but I think OP followed that Saturn for a bit too long. Should have just caught up to get the License plate and the face of the driver, and then turned around to see if the other car passenger's were injured and called the authorities for them if they were unable to.
I would have personally slowed down and told the guy "I'm on it!!" and maybe done a little power wheelie to let him know I meant business. I wouldn't have said shit to the driver.......I'd just tail him until he stopped, went into some hood I didn't want to follow, or was pulled by a cop. The only thing I don't like about just "getting the plate" is that if the car is stolen, the right person won't pay for it.

If you dont have insurance it's either hit and run...... or: get expensive tickets, risk jail time for driving without insurance, AND pay for both cars completely out of your own pocket. That's why people do it. But yeah you need basic insurance for sure.

Well done. Had a big truck hit me and run. I called the cops, gave them the plate # and they visited it him later. He claimed it wasnt him, little did he know the cops had my dashcam video of the accident. Had I been injured it would be a felony. Instead it was a big fine, lots of points on his license, misdemeanor too think, and his insurance company got a nice video to watch. Everyone needs a dash camera!

i’ve been watching a lot of these motorcycle hit and run videos and i feel like these people on motorcycles are the nicest and best people when it comes to situations like this. they’ll do what they can to help
Well that is great, you have something to be PROUD of. here is a little story if you wanna hear it: This one day me and my dad where on our way to best buy in his 2002 Vw Jetta 1.8T (manual transmission) on our way and this white honda fit came out of nowhere at about 90 MPH and it was on a slight turn on a highway, it smashed into the side of the car and the momentum of the fact that the honda was on the inside of the turn made my dads car completely spin out after the impact he stopped (he had slid out) and got out fast and looked at the side of the car seeing the thing was totaled he looked around for the car and didn't see it people where stopped behind him saying "call the cops" the whole left side of the car was smashed. He knew that she took off so he hopped back in REALLY Angry and looked for his left hand mirror, it wasn't there that's what upset him (this all happened really fast maybe 25 seconds) he put the car in first gear and floored it spinning tires hard (he did not have a flat tire luckily or he may have not been able to go for her) anyway he swerved through traffic raging very hard looking for her and he was reaching speeds of 100 mph going around traffic, he spotted the white hatchback and caught it right away she was doing around 100 mph as well he pulled down the window and screamed PULL OVER and she looked at him and said "Meh" and kept driving he was so angry at the time and kept following (he was thinking about fish tailing her but hesitated) in the mean time i was on the phone with the cops keeping them updated they told me get the plate number and you can stop pursuing her so i got it and gave it to them, long behold she was found later in the day at a school being a mid aged Latina girl, she had stolen the car from her father while he was on vacation, our car was totaled (i am upset to this day that was gonna be my car is was probably the cleanest Jetta in the whole Bay area) I later went on the GPS files to see some stuff, i looked at the driving history logs and it said the maximum speed reached on the trip it was on was 124 MPH!!!! (I had not seen the gauges at the time it was really heated, that made me even more upset such a fast car had been salvaged and totaled, my dads description of how he caught her: 1,2,3,4,5 5th gear and i disappeared. so glad we caught her if we hadn't we would've lost the car to her basically.
I had a mate end up in a coma for 2 months after his car got wrapped around a power pole. The crazy thing is he had someone else in the car driving and they were gone when emergency services got to the car. None of us know who was in the car with him as he has lost all memory of the past 2 weeks before he was in a coma.
Im glad he took chase just a couple weeks ago my brother was struck by a car and the car ran, my brother was going about 40 when he pulled out in front luckily he escaped with a broken leg and other cracks, witnesses stepped forward but no one knew who was driving so he got away free. I hope this guy gets jail time.

That happened in Knoxville, right down the road from where I live. Two motorcycles chased the man down. The guy got home and shot one of the guys on the motorcycle. You were smart to turn away when you did. Glad you got his tag and face though. I'm subbing to you too. Great vid.

Hit and run should be automatic jail time. We should also have video judges in every state where you can bring in a video for a reward and the perp can be issued a bench warrant on the spot by a video judge.

A conviction can result in misdemeanor or felony penalties, depending on whether the accident resulted in injury or death.
A Hit and Run is worst then a DUI. There should be an AUTOMATIC 30 day jail time. Some sort of 6 month to 1 year Drivers License suspension, if you don't have a license even more jail time. All will be served before you get deported.
In my city, a hit & run with no injuries doesn't even get a police response. They tell you to fill out an online report and contact your insurance company.

Im glad he took chase just a couple weeks ago my brother was struck by a car and the car ran, my brother was going about 40 when he pulled out in front luckily he escaped with a broken leg and other cracks, witnesses stepped forward but no one knew who was driving so he got away free. I hope this guy gets jail time.

Well for one he was speeding way past the speed limit and riding recklessly himself to catch up to the guy. For all he knows that white car could've slammed on his brakes and the rider wouldn't stop in time causing himself a wreck as well. Wasn't safe and was not worth it to chase the guy.

Hit and run should be automatic jail time. We should also have video judges in every state where you can bring in a video for a reward and the perp can be issued a bench warrant on the spot by a video judge.

A Hit and Run is worst then a DUI. There should be an AUTOMATIC 30 day jail time. Some sort of 6 month to 1 year Drivers License suspension, if you don't have a license even more jail time. All will be served before you get deported.
In my city, a hit & run with no injuries doesn't even get a police response. They tell you to fill out an online report and contact your insurance company.
