I agree. I don’t even think she would have been an easy mother-in-law. Often mothers of sons can be very possessive of their relationship, and for the reasons you commented on (her tendency to broken relationshios - with her own family, with her friends, etc..), I just don’t think she would have been this paragon of the family people like Richard Kay say.
Her reputation wasn't great to begin with, all the nasty things were coming out anyway but he has certainly hastened that and ensured that it WON'T be forgotten now. Before the stuff came out in dribs and drabs so we often forgot what she was like, the number of lovers she took, the marriages she broke up, that she was ''known to the police'' (as a stalker), how she bullied staff and enabled Hazza to bully/abuse staff as well. Other things have come that would probably have been forgotten about if it weren't that Hazza and Megsy have shown similar tendencies/behavioural traits themselves and people have spoken out. Unfortunately she was a lot like Megsy in many ways BUT she also had a certain amount of empathy and was very very definitely a better actress and ensured the face/persona she presented to the public was very far from her real one.

Harry has the Invictus Games for now, however if he continues to allow his wife to be involved. I think he will be asked to step down. Poor Diana must be turning in her grave, at what has become of her youngest son. Diana may have had her problems but she believed in the Monarchy and was a Royalist to the end.

Neither do I see Diana being proud of Harry nor 'jealous' of the way he's exiled himself: it certainly isn't a successful breakaway (they're failing with the public on both continents), it hasn't been an honorable path to independence AND it doesn't appear to have made him particularly happy. I haven't noticed Prince William doing any 'tussling' with his brother over Diana's 'legacy' - whatever that actually means. William rarely mentions his mother publicly, and his personal endeavours, such as Earthshot, are not predicated on her, or anything she did in her lifetime. Unlike his younger brother, he doesn't invoke her in his every public speech and action, use footage of her in documentaries he has made about his family, or write books talking about her in the most off-puttingly intimate way. Nor does William's wife claim to commune with Diana from beyond the grave, I might add - unlike his brother's wife. Richard Kay needs a reality check.

In order to become a working Royal, she would have to eschew any other career and devote herself to service. Beatrice and Eugenie have careers and are, therefore, not eligible to serve as working Royals unless they give up their paid work. Lady Louise is 18th in line to the throne. The Duke of Kent, who is a working Royal, is 41st in line to the throne.
As the grandchildren of the (former) Monarch, both Louise and James have the HRH and Princess/Prince titles from birth. Their parents wanted to raise them more privately and left it up to the children once they come of age. This info came directly from Sophie in an interview several years ago when she was still Countess, and HM Queen Elizabeth II was still alive.
When Catherine stepped out at the Wimbledon final this year and received a wonderful standing ovation one could only imagine the fury emanating out of Montecito. Markle will never get that kind of attention despite or more likely because of all the cards she has tried to play. Catherine is the real deal, Markle is not.
That was such a great moment and I did have tears in my eyes witnessing the support she received after all of the terrible treatment she received. Despite everything Meghan and her PR have done Catherine remains in the palace while Meghan has sunk to the gutter. Prayers for Princess Catherine and her healing journey.

There are differences, in their ages and genders for example, which, without putting too fine a point on it, may therefore have meant that the Princess, and also probably her family, needed time simply to come to terms emotionally with their situation without having to talk about it publicly.

In fairness given her height she'd look slim even if she was a size 20 - my best friend was her height, she was also a size 20 growing up but you'd never know from looking at her because she was tall, athletic and fit/healthy. She also looked stunning in mini skirts - yes, they were around in the 70s still - because she was tall with legs up to her armpits. Catherine is the same, she could literally be the same size as Carmel was and still look stunning.
I think it came off rude … exactly as said earlier - mentioning someone’s weight other than saying they look fabulous is not terribly smart. It sounded as if his opinion is she looks too thin prior to her health issues. Any disagreements we have had has never been known by anyone outside our family, as we are always there for one another vs. the rest of the world. And we are far from royal, nor the subject of intense criticism and gossip as the royal family is. I think William, Catherine and the King had to be destroyed by this whole situation. All I can really think, two brothers that went through such a tragedy, would have an unbreakable bond to protect one another ( my brother and me lost our mother when I was the same age as Harry - also in a rather tragic way and as a result have the strongest protective bond as a result) and the only variable that changed seems to be Harry’s wife. If you look at how Meghan has treated her family, one can only think she was jealous of the brother’s bond and breaking it was the only way to gain control of an emotionally weak guy - a manipulators goal is to separate their prey from any supportive figures in their life. Causing a rift between William and Harry she can influence Harry and get him to turn on the family so she could try to become relevant vs being the B list (at best) actress that nobody really knew BEFORE her relationship with Harry. Just my two cents, Harry must have low self esteem to think she is so beautiful and amazing and was out of his league, she looks horrid to me and I’m sure she will not age well - envy and internal evil tend to show more and more as time passes.

At the time of her death, she herself was not on speaking terms with either her mother or her brother. Her reputation wasn't great to begin with, all the nasty things were coming out anyway but he has certainly hastened that and ensured that it WON'T be forgotten now. Before the stuff came out in dribs and drabs so we often forgot what she was like, the number of lovers she took, the marriages she broke up, that she was ''known to the police'' (as a stalker), how she bullied staff and enabled Hazza to bully/abuse staff as well. Other things have come that would probably have been forgotten about if it weren't that Hazza and Megsy have shown similar tendencies/behavioural traits themselves and people have spoken out. Unfortunately she was a lot like Megsy in many ways BUT she also had a certain amount of empathy and was very very definitely a better actress and ensured the face/persona she presented to the public was very far from her real one.

Unlike his younger brother, he doesn't invoke her in his every public speech and action, use footage of her in documentaries he has made about his family, or write books talking about her in the most off-puttingly intimate way. Nor does William's wife claim to commune with Diana from beyond the grave, I might add - unlike his brother's wife. Richard Kay needs a reality check.

In order to become a working Royal, she would have to eschew any other career and devote herself to service. Beatrice and Eugenie have careers and are, therefore, not eligible to serve as working Royals unless they give up their paid work. Lady Louise is 18th in line to the throne. The Duke of Kent, who is a working Royal, is 41st in line to the throne.
As the grandchildren of the (former) Monarch, both Louise and James have the HRH and Princess/Prince titles from birth. Their parents wanted to raise them more privately and left it up to the children once they come of age. This info came directly from Sophie in an interview several years ago when she was still Countess, and HM Queen Elizabeth II was still alive.

There are differences, in their ages and genders for example, which, without putting too fine a point on it, may therefore have meant that the Princess, and also probably her family, needed time simply to come to terms emotionally with their situation without having to talk about it publicly.

Their Royal highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales have shown class and elegance vs. tacky, two faced, whiny, miserable, pathetic family members who just look more and more ridiculous as they go. The VERY public release of personal matters by two people who claim to only want normal, private lives is disturbing. In my family, a normal American family, none of us would EVER air our private laundry for all to see. Any disagreements we have had has never been known by anyone outside our family, as we are always there for one another vs. the rest of the world. And we are far from royal, nor the subject of intense criticism and gossip as the royal family is. I think William, Catherine and the King had to be destroyed by this whole situation. All I can really think, two brothers that went through such a tragedy, would have an unbreakable bond to protect one another ( my brother and me lost our mother when I was the same age as Harry - also in a rather tragic way and as a result have the strongest protective bond as a result) and the only variable that changed seems to be Harry’s wife. If you look at how Meghan has treated her family, one can only think she was jealous of the brother’s bond and breaking it was the only way to gain control of an emotionally weak guy - a manipulators goal is to separate their prey from any supportive figures in their life. Causing a rift between William and Harry she can influence Harry and get him to turn on the family so she could try to become relevant vs being the B list (at best) actress that nobody really knew BEFORE her relationship with Harry.
