I like the comment about the desert. Something like…You can bury a body out there. It’s real easy just make sure you have the whole dug up first. You don’t want somebody to show up all you’re digging a hole then you’ll have to dig another hole no telling who else to show up, you’ll be digging all day.
Home alone….is a John Hughes movie….the director was also the director of Christmas vacation, and he was gunna quit and do something else because chevvy is an asshole 😂🤷♂️ His buddy, the screen writer of all these movies, John….who wrote Ferris bueller in a weekend….said hang on give me one more chance. He said I just discovered this kid on uncle buck and I wrote him a movie to star in, and I want you to direct it. And even the production on that movie was crazy. They got shut down by universal as they were being secretly funded by Fox. Crazy stuff that’s probably not even possible now.
Funniest parts are when Harry gets super angry. It seems Joe was barely able to act without screaming out all his usuals. All you hear is just "fkh, sh, fkhn fkh"
My Uncle Richard Dioguardi is in Goodfellas, he's one of the detectives that busts Henry Hill for the stolen cigarettes. Hes wearing a dark suit, big balding guy. He doesn't have any lines in the movie but hes there. He was also in the deer hunter and apocalypse now. He once showed me his address book and it had the addresses and numbers of Martin Scorsese, Francis ford Coppola, Robert DeNiro, John Voight, Christopher Walken
I went to a special screening of Goodfellas after Ray Liotta's passing (RIP). The theatre was PACKED and I've never heard an audience enjoy themselves more. Goodfellas got more laughs than 99% of "comedies" nowadays...
Not enough full frontal man scenes.... and no insertion. A top 10 film must have insertion- man on man OR man on woman, so long as somebody's something is going into someone else whatever
The scene in which the guys buy stuff when Jimmy tells them not to is hilarious. For a parody, it could've just been going and going and more ridiculous stuff, like someone coming in with a pet giraffe.
The fact that the goddamn pink Caddy has the slip on the window straight off the dealer lot is fucking hilarious. I rewatched the movie the other day for the millionth time and it got me good.
Tommy: "Frank, let's chop him up." Frankie: Gets out of the car Tommy: "Where you going, where you going ya dizzy muthaf*cker you?" That scene gets me every time 😂😂😂
The Irishman was truly great. If people didn’t have preconceived ideas. About what a martin Scorsese films should be. It would have gotten much better ratings. Bill is right it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. To see all those guys together one last time. I only wish Ray Liotta was in it.
Both Irishman and Killers are great movies. Only bottom feeders complain about the length of a fucken SCORSESE MOVIE. Go watch another marvel slop instead you goofs.
It was a slog if you have low attention span what do you want constant action? Tik tok ruined you brain. The Irishman was never boring if you think that then you would find literally most movies boring except Michael bay and marvel movies 😂😂😂
I found lots of stuff in The Sopranos funny even at first sight. Like the constant gabagool hounding, Sil's Pacino impersonations, the whole episode when Paulie and Chris get lost in the forest bickering like an old couple... It feels like Chase wrote it as a low-key comedy show.
I f'n loved "The Irishman" too. Thanks, Bill. I don't care if they're just reading the phone book, I can watch DeNiro and Pesci everyday for the rest of my life. "Goodfellas" is my favorite movie.
When I first saw Raging Bull in the theater I howled laughing at the scene where Jake is in his apt. waiting to be fed. My dad was from Sedgwick Ave. My uncles nickname was Butch 😂
The more I watch the Godfather Part II, the more I laugh at the scene where Fredo's telling Michael "I'm smaaaaat!" and the look on Michael's face shows he can't believe that Fredo is actually a much bigger moron than anyone thought.
I've seen Goodfellas, at least 200 times and I think it's absolutely hilarious. I recently went to a showing of it at a movie theatre and I noticed that people were looking at me like I was absolutely nuts for laughing the entire time.
How about when Tommy shoots Spider for the second time and Henry, say's he's dead, and Tommy's response is, I'm a good shot, what do you want from me, I'm a good shot. Then Anthony says, how could you miss at this distance? So great, and then when they tell him he's digging the hole, his closing line is, where are the shovels? Comedic gold.
When I was younger, I would have fight anyone telling me Goodfellas is a comedy "what do you mean comedy? It's a fucking gangster movie, it's serious business, there is violence blablabla". As I grew older until now at 40 years old "yeah that movie is a fucking comedy, fight me"
Psychologically, terror and humor/laughing are closely linked brain reactions. Pesci characters become funny, because you are on the edge of fear and primed for emotional breakdown.
Agree. It’s weak. And Bill proves my point against it here. The only real reason people like it is because it’s Pesci and Deniro, back in the saddle, doing it one more time as a farewell. If Celebrity Worship is all your movie has going for it, it’s not really a good movie. People went in wanting to love it so hard, they’d never admit it they didn’t like it. Sunken cost fallacy. They decided they loved it before they even saw it. I wanted to love it, but unfortunately it fell flat.
The scene in Casino where Pesci is losing at blackjack is one of the funniest scenes ever
"If you had any heart , you'd be out stealing "
That's what makes Casino the better movie for me. The comedic aspects of it are even funnier than Goodfellas.
@@Bob-Sacamano I may have to agree
Love both but go get ya shine box puts good fellas over.

"What'ya like Henry, the leg or the wing?" 🤣
“Or do ya still go for the ol’ hearts and lungs?!”
"Why is it I watch it now, Joe Pesci is the funniest person in the world and I die laughing?"
JOE PESCI: "Funny, how? How am I funny?"
You're a laugh riot Joe Pesci!
He's hysterical 😅😅😅
“Funny like a clown?”
My answer to everything
No, I don't know. Do I AMUSE you?
Which makes Home Alone fuggn hilarious. Kevin should've got wacked for sure 😂

That’s cool
Its insane how many all time legendary movies have the most badass editors who are usually some absolutely talented lady.
Yep. They are very much unsung.
And how difficult and time consuming it is to edit a movie too..
Why is that “insane”, of course there’s both women and men who are great editors
@@Grfrk2190 well its insane how overlooked they seem to be, ya know?
Johnny Roastbeef is just funny because I imagine him as Artie Lange snorting oxy in the bathroom & yelling at people.

I'd love it if I was to find out that originally WAS the case and they trimmed the scene down. Lol.
The funniest scene is right after they killed Mory and Tommy is waiting for Carbone to start the car.
How about, “make that coffee To Go! 😂
Tommy and Frank together was always hilarious in Goodfellas. Frank clearly wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed 🤣
I gotta better shot lettin’ HIM f**king drive!

It was a joke you dizzy mfer 😂
Goodfellas is Absolutely the Best Movie I’ve Ever Seen in My Life. 150-1000 Times 😁🔥👍🏼
Goodfellas captures male friendship better than any movie. The way the guys roast each other feels so authentic compared to other films.
Goodfellas absolutely is comedic. The timing of some of the quotes and the characters are so crazy that they're funny.
I look forward to these.
Give Thelma credit for editing, she's amazing.
Tommy: "Frank, let's chop him up."
Frankie: Gets out of the car

Wish Bill would have a movie review podcast, it would be The best
I wish it could be him , Patrice O'Neal (RIP), and Jim Norton. Every take they have is spot on hilarious
@TheRedkid20 100% agree, Patrice had the best takes, his Face Off review is hillarious
Italian people like this are funny plus when u seen this movie a million times u don’t even notice the violence it becomes a comedy.

I agree it's a dark comedy, another underrated comedy is Braveheart.
This boys life is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. And I know a thing or two about a thing or two.
The Irishman was a slog toward the end but I think it made its point: life is short, but it can also be very very long.
But not as long as The Irishman or Killers Of The Whole Afternoon.

We were privileged to live in the golden age of cinema guys ; tells your kids, show 'em the beauty, try n make them understand. Don't let it die.
Ray Liotta is the unsung hero of GoodFellas. His acting is so mature and spot on in every scene. He’s perfect.
I remember when Freckles was referring to the movie as 'Kill The Irishman'. Like many times, over a number of episodes, it was hilarious
The sopranos too, I find myself laughing at so much shit now when I rewatch that.

That's because half of the cast on the Sopranos were already in Scorsese movies.
The intervention for Christopher. Comedy gold
