Next, those now empty lots will become fancy, luxurious 14 story condos with California people moving in.

Ghost neighborhoods? That just looks like plain old undeveloped land. They must have never seen "ghost neighborhoods" in Detroit for comparison...

This absolutely so sad. This is how parts of Detroit looks now but it's not because of floods it's because the houses were abandon for so long that so many of them had to be torn down due to not being kept up and a street ahead of my father-in-laws house people set 5 abandon houses on fire last year so now their are only 2 homes left on the next street up. Not to mention a. Couple nights back some one set a car on fire o. That very same street a couple days ago. It's sad to see historical houses just left to rot away.

Not close. The fact that the city and county own these lots mean they can develop on them at any time, they’ll probably build multi family units and stuff to generate revenue buy charging high rents.

This has been the plan for decades, the plan was to get rid of lower and middle income housing, and put in high end expensive housing developments. Those areas weren't supposed to flood, what all of a sudden happened that they were all flooded?. Engineers can purposely design such an infrastructure that is prone to flooding

You'll have to get flood insurance tho. Talk with an Insurance agt that sells hazard ins . They have info. Look into Deed restrictions houses have to be uniform with each other

And when you build affordable housing and then it floods you will complain that the government made sure rich neighborhoods did not flood by pushing water on poor people.

She said how can u have a community with no houses around. Only dim witted city ppl would say that. I'm from Baltimore but I know a community is what u make of it. Your community is your entire town. I now live in the woods on a mountain in another state. There are many many homes like this in America that sit alone. We have less than 1,000 ppl no phone cell phone service or internet but we still have community. We protect each other and each other's property if we see something out of place. We love n respect each other when we do see each other around town. We watch each others houses when out of town. Because this is the way to living in peace with no worry. Know thy neighbor right. I've lived in a row home community and knew less about my community members than I do now.
