Hi, great video, but as you have suggested these products are 100% counterfeited goods. The material used in the counterfeit engine covers is significantly inferior to the genuine GBRacing material. If you crash the bike at a good speed then these covers are likely to transfer the forces into the engine, potentially causing oil leaks, or if they slide on the tarmac they are very likely to wear through and wear the OEM engine casing, again causing more damage and potential oil spills. If you have the genuine vs counterfeit GBRacing products side by side, you will instantly be able to tell the weight difference. We work very hard to provide motorcyclists around the world with the same quality motorcycle crash protection as used and proven by World Superbike teams and really appreciate people choosing the genuine GBRacing protection, as we try our hardest to fight the counterfeit copies. Thank you.
I didn’t suggest anything:) I bought them from Amazon so I can’t say if they were real or fake. I had never heard of the brand but I’ll try to find my Amazon order to see who sold them.
GB racing, thanks for writing this comment. I was coming here to see what the quality is like but you’ve answered it for me. It must piss you off when people use your logos on stuff, but I suppose it’s a form of flattery! I’ll be looking to pick up some trident 660 cases soon!
I bought real gbracing covers for my z900, gbracing uses very nice packaging compared to knockoffs and i want peace of mind if i lay my bike over. Thanks for what you do, i won't buy knock off crap to save a dime.
plastic is plastic. It doesn't matter if it's Chinese or original. The reality is that you are selling this piece of plastic at a very high price. That's why I bought Chinese plastic ones.
I just bought a Z 900 it's a 2019 I got the same covers as you gonna put them on tomorrow but I really enjoyed your video it was clear and precise and you just got another subscriber
Hi there, a very nice video, many thanks. Just wanted to ask you, I just received my AliExpress GB Racing covers just like yours on my Kawasaki z1000r. But I realized that the original bolts need to be removed and replaced with the ones which came with it. So now I'm a little doubtful about the quality of those bolts. Am I breaking the original seal? Or any other unexpected things might come up? Also, the instructions say that I should tighten them at 11nm. So, overall, I really want to install them, but I'm a bit doubtful about that. What would you recommend?
Hey Fez, I only removed the bolts that matched the new cover. You don’t have to remove all the original ones. Just hold up the new one to the old one and mark which bolts need to come out. You’ll be fine just removing those without any issues:) hope that help!
How'd the passenger seat cover go if you got it in? I had a knock off one for my Ninja 400 and it was crap and didn't even fit correctly so it wouldn't even stay on. Was debating on taking a chance again on my Z900.
Hey Anthony; I didn’t put a passenger seat cover on, just the air cushion on the driver seat if that’s what you’re referring to. This one fit great and I’ve been using it every since. Makes for a much more comfortable ride. If you need more info or pics let me know.
Good!, I’ve had no issues with them at all. I had 1 fall on loose gravel and one for a scratch on it but that exactly what it’s their for, so worked like a charm:)
@@ajridesandmore5632hopefully you'll never have to see if they work or not... but those counterfeit mods break quit easily on hard falls at medium speeds (25 m/h +) specially on big heavy bikes like yours..I've watched several vids here on Utube , these things might help a bit on a occasional drop down tho'. Good luck !
FWIW I ordered the same “guards” for my bike specifically for drops, not sliding crashes. These supplementing reputable crash protection are wonderful. You can get the $400 dollar actual kit or you can just replace the stock covers for around that if and when you crash.

Sir i also own a z1000 too.
I would like to ask if do i need to drain the oil first before installing those engine covers?
the GB racing engine cover already give with manual of every thing there is no need to drain oil your just have to replace bolts @@winstonbatalla8941
What"s the torque for the bolts? I am a fan of using torque tool since the engine is aluminium.
Let me check and I’ll let you know.

Still happy with the Protection?
No complaints so far. I’ve only laid the bike down but the protector got scratched which means it did it’s job:)
awesome bike
Thanks! Unfortunately I’m probably gonna have to sell it to buy a car for once schools done
You should to use a torque wrench and tighten the screw with 12 Nm force
Chinese copy crap ... why would you install garbage on your expensive Japanese bike??
actually, they work quite well and do what they were intended to do and thats protect the bike. No complaints from me so far:)

Is the material holding up to the engine temp. I have one on order right now.
