I went thru the house and museums and stayed at the Graceland Guesthouse last week. It was the 1st time I’ve been there and I loved it all. Although I went by Elvis’s grave on the tour, I went back early the next morning and was able to sit at his grave alone for 20 minutes. A wonderful experience. It was worth every penney I have saved for years. I am a 70 yr old widow and have loved Elvis since 1957. Also love all the videos and stories you tell Spa Guy. I know it takes a lot of time and research but you do the best ones but it’s so much appreciated.
I would love to take Elvis on a tour through Graceland! I think he would laugh his tail off at first...then when he see's how many fans still tour in 2020 with complete love in their hearts for him...he would then cry his tail off with the love he always gave them back! Elvis I pray your looking down! Rip EP ❤
They sure worked hard to make sure the things Elvis had were all displayed properly. They’ve done a great job. My goodness. Elvis sure had allot of stuff didn’t he?
That drone footage was amazing! I got the chance to visit Graceland twice before the renovations. Cant wait to see it now! Sending love from California
Appreciate your time and efforts to produce these excellent video's! Amazing how it seems nothing Elvis ever owned was thrown away. If I ever get to meet you and your wife at Graceland, BBQ is on me. I'm a former Memphis rocker from the "hair band" days and had the privilege of meeting many people who knew Elvis, before he became"Elvis."
Sounds Good my friend.. I go to Memphis often my daughter and her husband live there he is in medical school.. Thank You so much for watching... Spa Guy... Be sure to subscribe plenty more Elvis stuff coming up..
Yes Rick I was there just a few months before and had no idea the construction was even happening.. as I mentioned in the video I saw a huge screen looking thing in the parking lot but didn't realize it was covering up the fornt of a new group of buildings... Thanks for watching.. Spa Guy... Be sure to subscribe plenty more Elvis stuff coming up..
Thanks. I live in Clarksdale MS about 80 miles due South of Memphis on HWY 61, The Blues HWY. Always enjoy a trip to Graceland. I can remember seeing Elvis there signing autographs often when he was alive. Clarksdale has a huge musical history. Elvis played our Auditorium. John Lee Hooker, Sam Cooke, Ike Turner, Muddy Waters, Bessie Smith, and many more have roots here. Come see us.
Billy, i just went on Sept 10th 2020 and it is incredible the amount of memorabilia, autos, Icons, etc etc. At Graceland they were in the process of construction of the late Benjamin right by the meditation garden. It was a blue tarp with a yellow ribbon to block it. Exactly on September 11,2020
FYI, the cape that is shown is not the original one from the Aloha from Hawaii concert. At the end of the concert, he took the original cape off and threw it into the crowd. The very first cape that was made was to heavy as it was a "calf length" so it was shortened to the size you see now.
I went to Graceland one day after Pricella unvealed the Elvis stamp in 92. Didn't realized I missed this event until I got there. What makes it worse is when I was coming home to SC, I stopped in Atlanta to visit the Coke Museum. I had my car broken into right in front of the city's courthouse and had a bunch of stuff stolen, including almost all my Elvis stuff I bought
Thank you for making this video... I'm planning to go to Graceland but I'm not sure if it will come true. My heart aches about what happened to Elvis...he's not perfect but he has a good heart. May his soul rest in peace.
Thank you for everything that you do I really appreciate your videos on Elvis I never was really a Elvis fan until I seen previews of the movie and I can’t wait to watch the movie I’ve really became a Elvis fan in the last little bit and I really appreciate your videos that you have done on the king
I just got done watching Aloha from Hawaii concert again and noticed that he also threw the belt to that suit to someone in the front row... I remember you questioning where it was at when you was looking at the jumpsuit... he tossed it right after American Trilogy.
Barbara private ,,, thats sad its gone, ,,, great standing billy in front of the gate how cool is that .....thanks billy ,, this is a new museum really cool its not the same very sad, ,,,, I take a trip down memory lane,,,, good watching as usual billy its hard to take it all in, ,,,,
He threw the belt and the cape into the crowd and they only got the cape back ,last I heard. On the 25th anniversary special at the end of the show when he does American Trilogy they show a brief interview with Ronnie Lott ,Joe (The conductor) and a guy from the Stamps or Jordaneers and they say he through the stuff in and never got the belt, back. Great video
Thank you for the tour, I really enjoyed it, I wish I was there and you would tour me around Memphis !!! Great Video for someone like me who lives miles away and know I will never get there, I appreciate your video !!!
People stay up all night watching Netflix and I spend the night watching everything about Elvis on your channel 😁 Really rich videos about everything related to the king.. realy good job thank u 👏🏻
Spa Guy, glad you mentioned about the lesser costs tickets and what you can see (how it has changed and where to get tickets). I hope my husband and I can go to Graceland some day (been at the gate in 1970s), visit Tupelo, MS too, but expensive. I love the pic of Elvis at his famous gate. (My husband and I were at a Captain D's here years ago. When we were in line to order, it was apparent a man with his family was trying to look like Elvis. I did not know if he was an Elvis impersonater, but would not be my first choice. When he was finished ordering, he said, "Thank you very much," and trying to sound like Elvis.)
I do appreciate all the footage and in-depth videos you have. I really like how you dig deep and find things out that has always had my mind curious. Keep it up, looking forward to more videos. Would love for you to have a sit down with Billy Smith!
So weird to see the old ticket office and museums gone. I'd seen them and how it is now (wowee). BTW $1400 in 1957 is about $16,000 today! Great job Billy!
Thanks for taking the time to do and show this video !!!!! I enjoyed every minute of it !!!! I love when you say " there you go friends you heard it here " love it God bless you my friend !!!!
The estate sued Tom Parker for all Elvis"s personal property that he had, hell he was still trying to rip the estate off till the courts forced him to give the estate all of Elvis's stuff.
Actually they sued him for mismanagement and EPE paid him 2 million and he released everything Elvis related that he had.. it was said to be over 13 tons..
@@SpaGuy i would like to know did the money for elvis's jumpsuits come out of parkers 50 or elvis's 50. If it was elvis's 50, they should have sued him for them and not payed him. I've asked billy smith on his youtube but no answer yet.
@@SpaGuy 13 tons 😲 !!! . Was the family surprised by the huge quantity of items Parker accumulated ? In learning of & about Elvis, to me Parker is a complexing character 🤔.Thank you for the video
One day I want to go to Memphis and go to the house and take spa guy and wife for lunch...also go and stay at the pyramid and see everything spa guy has been gracious enough to take time to show us on his you tube channel.......thanks billy regards Dr Tony in Wales uk
It is so much better now. The best part is Graceland is more (!) like it was during the time Elvis was alive and lived there. They changed so much AFTER he died. I LOVE the new setup. Elvis only had a SMALL area of awards and that came late in his life.
I went to Graceland March 19th 2002 and I was having problems getting a fax home to the UK. The lady in the ticket office across the road from Gracelans helped me get a message home. I'm so sad it's all changed
Thanks Spa Guy for the video and update. So gathering from this the museum is no longer at Graceland ? Not sure I like his things are separately from his home.
I have not been in the house since this change so I am speculating on some of this.. I think the vast majority of these items were in the small room on the left rear of the house that has not been open long as in the jumpsuits and the other stuff was in the racket ball court.. Next time I go to Memphis I will go in the house to see what has changed.. Thank You so much for watching... Spa Guy... Be sure to subscribe plenty more Elvis stuff coming up..
Jon the trophy building had alot of his origonal gold records and a few jumpsuits, and movie posters. It now has a history display of the presley family. The raquetball building use to house a few jumpsuits and many record awards Elvis recieved Posthumously. Its all across the street at the new complex. The raquetball building now looks as it did while Elvis was alive. you can now see the actual court he played on shortly before he passed.
I heard that after the Hawaiian concert, Elvis threw his cape and belt into the audience. And that the cape was returned but the belt didn't make it back to Elvis--that someone kept it.
Yes Christie and if you go early morning about 7:00am you can go up to the graves and the meditation garden and there is no charge.. Yes you can park by the wall for short periods.. Thanks for watching, Spa Guy
Thank you Spa Guy for sharing with us your Elvis adventures. There are a lot of us out there who may have read about Elvis but may never be able to visit the places you take us to. I feel like I'm right there with you. I was fortunate to visit Graceland in 2012, but a lot has changed since then and glad to have the opportunity to see it here. I have one question don't know if you could answer. It seems that all the places Elvis lived in Memphis are now in bad shape or vacant except Graceland. Is it because the neighborhoods over the years have changed? Even Dr. Nicks house was abandoned for a while. Thanks again, Debbie~
Debbie, Memphis as a whole has deteriorated in my opinion and the neighborhoods are not great.. Even the area Graceland is in was a great neighborhood and now it is dangerous.. Dr. Nicks house on the other hand is in a very affluent nice neighborhood but the house was very expensive even in it's non pristine state.. It was about 650,000.00 which is out of most peoples buying range not to mention probably having to spend another 2-300,000 to get it back in livable condition.. That is why it sat empty for about 2 years.. The Audubon house is in a still nice neighborhood but the rest are not.. Thanks for watching, Spa Guy
enjoy your video's! How knowledgeable are you about the aloha suits? I had read there was two made and he continued to wear them on tour and vegas for rest of 73. Was always curious how they could tell for sure the suit in the exhibit is the actual suit worn in the aloha special. Can you enlighten me or maybe do a video just on the aloha special? regards and thanks for the work you do on these videos, i really like it when you do the "then and now" picture comparisons.
I will ALWAYS LOOK TO Y’ALL BILLY for UP TO DATE ELVIS INFO & TIMELINE OF ELVIS OCCURRENCE’S & HISTORY OVER GOING TO EVEN ELVIS PRESLEY ENTERPRISES BCOZ U r FROM MEMPHIS & have followed for DECADES❣️🤠😎🤩✨🙏🇺🇸
I'm so sad to learn that Graceland Plaza is no more. I was there in '96 and thought the whole set-up was just perfect. The plaza was originally stores and then a strip mall before Elvis died and it's just terrible to realize that it is gone.
I was there in 2017. Toured the lower levels of the house. Upper levels off limit. It was definitely worth it. Sure wish they'd hire guides who gave a crap tho. Mostly you walk around with a small tablet & headphones.
I liked it before when you could see the house from across the street. But things change. It's nice though. It's about the money and that what makes it stay open. Great that they aren't changing things at the house. Good film Billy.
Yeah I noticed that spy guy I thought that was kind of cool and I like to part where he rubbed the guitar on him and then kicked his leg out and in his hand it was pretty cool 68 come back special
Thank you very much, Spa Guy! --Bu I am missing (or can't find) your tours of Elvis' Tupelo childhood home and schools, and also high school and your personal tour of Graceland.. I found those about a month ago to put together or my stepmother's 75th BDay, and can't find them now... Do you know where I can? She is a huge fan. Thanks!
If they moved all of those items from that building they used to be in behind the house, I wonder what they did with that space. I have not been to Graceland since 2009.
this must be the 'PAY TO JUS LOOK' shops that Pris put in, and the shopping center she cemented, even having the audacity to say, 'elvis loved looking across the street from his bedroom window, and seeing ALL THE GREEN!' but she tells us not to worry since there were plans to put a few,... A FEW..... potted trees, or etc.
U are movie real fast at outfits in the museum. U were in business together with Scotty Moore? What kind of business? With the Fair set up in the museum, could U ride the Farris Wheel Elvis loved so much? 😂 lol lol!!!!!! The picture u should of Elvis and Scotty holding each other guitar 🎸, in that pic who is the Blonde Hair guy sitting on the floor beside Elvis. I have asked before but had never gotten reply, do U know? Thank for all yr help and time to put this video together. I throughly enjoyed it!!! God Bless u and Yr Family.
Dear Spy Guy, Thank you for all your videos I really enjoy them thank you for all the effort and energy you place in your work that surrounds Elvis life as well as his achievements.I have a question for you sir if you can answer it what do you personally think about Bob Joyce the pastor?
My favorite jumpsuit was the American Eagle and It would be nice for owner of the belt to loan/donate it back to Graceland. I wonder how many replica's they sell at the gift shop at Graceland?
În my country îs late în The night... By two weeks I'm watching you. Thank you‼️I love Elvis from ALL of my life, but I don't know if I could see Memphis în this live. By The way... You know who are you? Elvis tween brother😉
Great video. Thanks for the tour. So all those little shops across from Graceland were torn down. Too bad. Some people at EPE call it progress however, I don't like the design of the new Elvis Museum and that "boxed store" effect. Money Honey. For the viewer asking about Elvis' jumpsuit worn during the Aloha From Hawaii Satellite Broadcast. I invite everyone to search online. There is plenty of information relating to Aloha. One great book was published a few years ago dedicated to the Aloha Satellite Show. Spa Guy mentioned a missing belt. There were two made. Elvis gifted one to Jack Lord, the actor famous for the 1970s show, "Hawaii Five O." This belt was offered to Jack Lord BEFORE the broadcast. This story was offered in detail in Jerry Hopkin's book, "Elvis: The Final Years." The second replacement belt was removed by Elvis and thrown into the audience during the second show, the satellite broadcast. Again, search online for who owns that belt today.
I have wondered if you can still purchase tickets to just the exhibits? I wonder if you still can in 2020. I've been to the house several times and sometimes I just want to walk the museums. Thanks!
Spa guy, speaking on when he switched guitars in the singer special (comeback) as a singer you probably already know that if elvis wanted to be heard a bit more, but, not be amplified, he probably should've went with a martin d18 or a d28. I know he used a d18 early in his career and had Martins toward the end of his career/life, however, at the time, I think he was going for the bling, although, I'm not a gibson hater, I own and a j45 standard and a martin d28. It is just that a martin was made to be heard through other instruments...those gibsons he had are nice and beautiful though
Thank you for sharing in such detail, but all of this makes it (in my opinion) like a theme park, instead of Elvis's home. If that was my Daddy's home, I wld NEVER EVER sell any part of it whatsoever. Sad...
Wow they have really changed things since I was last down there. I just really hope they don't start getting campy with the displays and money grab crap for the all mighty buck. I know money talks and b-----it walks but leave Elvis with a little dignity I say. Elvis would have not wanted to jab his fans in the pocket book for crap and trinkets. Thanks again S.G. Very entertaining.
I hope with this new project . That the company didn't over project sales that may been the driving force behind all of this and the visters attendance go down hill. In short. I hope this retail didn't get too big too late..
Bob it is possible.. I think they have 20 more good years before the hard core fans die off but that could be a stretch.. It may be 10 years.. What blows my mind is they are taking in about 100 million and year on a property that has been essentially paid for for 40 years and are having to borrow around 40 million... If i was taking in that kind of money I would have 500 million in the bank by now easily.. Thanks for your input.. Spa Guy

Yeah I noticed that spy guy I thought that was kind of cool and I like to part where he rubbed the guitar on him and then kicked his leg out and in his hand it was pretty cool 68 come back special
Spa Guy brings the best info and videos and I'm fairly picky with my Elvis facts....
So enjoy your channel Billy 🙂
Thank You Thomas!!
Thanks!
You've got the best stuff. Thank you.
Thank You so much for watching... I really enjoy making these videos.. Spa Guy... Be sure to subscribe plenty more Elvis stuff coming
up..
If they moved all of those items from that building they used to be in behind the house, I wonder what they did with that space. I have not been to Graceland since 2009.
Hopefully the place isn't finished yet and will get better over time.
this must be the 'PAY TO JUS LOOK' shops that Pris put in, and the shopping center she cemented, even having the audacity to say, 'elvis loved looking across the street from his bedroom window, and seeing ALL THE GREEN!' but she tells us not to worry since there were plans to put a few,... A FEW..... potted trees, or etc.
Awesome
U are movie real fast at outfits in the museum. U were in business together with Scotty Moore? What kind of business? With the Fair set up in the museum, could U ride the Farris Wheel Elvis loved so much? 😂 lol lol!!!!!! The picture u should of Elvis and Scotty holding each other guitar 🎸, in that pic who is the Blonde Hair guy sitting on the floor beside Elvis. I have asked before but had never gotten reply, do U know? Thank for all yr help and time to put this video together. I throughly enjoyed it!!! God Bless u and Yr Family.
Dear Spy Guy,
Thank you for all your videos I really enjoy them thank you for all the effort and energy you place in your work that surrounds Elvis life as well as his achievements.I have a question for you sir if you can answer it what do you personally think about Bob Joyce the pastor?
I believe he is elvis. I love pastor joyce teaching.
Billy you say it’s dangerous in Memphis to not have a gun
Loved it
I have wondered if you can still purchase tickets to just the exhibits? I wonder if you still can in 2020. I've been to the house several times and sometimes I just want to walk the museums.
Thanks!
Yes you can buy just a museum ticket..
@@SpaGuy thank you!
The Gibsons are prettier than the Martins but the Martins always sound Great!! In My Opinion..
Sorry about asking you for coffee, I realize that you do not know what if I was a nut. Still enjoy your videos, Thankyou
Electric George I would love to meet you when you come to town.. Just let me know when you get here.. Spa Guy
I will be there on New Year's eve...
Huh, why did Parker keep all his suits after Elvis passed!? Weren,t they Elvis,s ? tks
And thanks for sharing these visits. ~
Thats what i have asked billy smith his cousin but still no answer.
Thank you for sharing in such detail, but all of this makes it (in my opinion) like a theme park, instead of Elvis's home. If that was my Daddy's home, I wld NEVER EVER sell any part of it whatsoever. Sad...
Amazing video, very informative thankyou so much, it looks nothing like it did in 2005
Janice, It has changed quite a bit even recently.. Thanks for watching, Spa Guy
Watching in 2020
Elvis is alive. and well.
Tigbten up!
Glory is a good camera man.
Spa Guy
❤
How much is it to do this tour today
I didn't see any security while you were filming, but I'm sure they are around via security cameras, otherwise stupid people would be breaking things.
2:46 Vernon signed the check. Wasn't a bad check this time. lol
