Also, I can't tell how endearing it was to hear Michele get emotional over how cute they are. As a fellow animal lover, I can so relate. 🥰😍👍
I have a colony of 3(2f, 1m), and I have them in a 150 gallon Paludarium-like enclosure. 1 foot of it has water that barely goes over the gravel and the divider is covered in a creeping vine and I use a mini water pump under the gravel, some pvc covered in stones to filter the water, as well as to create a nice little waterfall effect, and it works great for them and I don't need to do water changes but I still replace some of it every week and the water simply isn't deep enough for them to drown and it helps keep a higher humidity, even with a mesh lid for airflow. They love the water section as much as they love the cliffside wall I built for them. These skinks are awesome and I whole heartedly recommend them.
When I start to wake up on Saturday morning I am like Ugh it’s morning...Saturday Morning...Oh wait a new Clint’s REPTILE video is up! Thanks for being the thing that makes me get up on Saturday Mornings.
The fact that clints beard changes so much throughout the video really just shows how much time and effort was put into each video! Well done sir i love your videos!
"I just love these guys it has to be one of the best lizards in the world! " said Clint about almost every reptile hes shown lol what a cool skink and an amazing presentation lol thanks clint!
The Bio Dude has lots of these guys and they are all captive bred! I got to visit one breeding group at their store in Houston and they were ALL up at the front and excited to see people
The comparison to green anoles was somehow unexpected, but eye-opening for me. When I get my own place, the consideration I was giving to green anoles might go to these guys instead (I'll just need to find some).
Im from the Philippines, I have been seeing these a lot since I was young and I was fascinated by them, fueled my interest with reptiles too. I had experience with wild ones, but I never really thought that they would be an awesome pet to have. Thank you Clint. :)
The way these little guys tilt their heads and the look in their eyes is like they're actually paying attention and listening to you! They seem very curious, polite, and thoughtful.
I've been waiting for this video! I picked up one of these guys at an expo, and I have not been disappointed. These guys are incredible display animals! With regular handling they can tame down, but honestly, as Clint said, even without handling them they are so entertaining. Definitely a very underrated skink. They utilize every inch of their enclosure, mine loves climbing on the screen lid, foam background, cork bark, and burrowing under sphagnum moss at night to sleep. They appreciate vines and wood of all diameters and textures. If you put something in their enclosure, they will use it. I have mine in an 18x18x24 exo terra enclosure. Front opening cages are definitely the way to go with these guys. I also recommend placing the cage by somewhere you will sit or spend a lot of time; I have my skink's tank next to a chair and he will come over and visit me often when sitting in it. If you ever see these guys at an expo, I highly recommend them!
There's a reptile shop about an hour from me that I go to every couple of months, typically just to browse and marvel at the lovely critters. A couple days ago when I went for my visit they had a big old tank full of these guys and I honestly could not help myself. I came home with a male and a female and I'm hoping to start up my own little brood of these amazing fellows. They are so fearless, curious and active in their enclosure and it's absolutely so rad, they're quickly becoming my favorite reptile.
my front yard had palm trees and i found these guys all the time. we had mounted orchids on the trunks of the palm trees and i would see hoise gecko, tokay gecko, and tree skink eggs and hatchlings. maybe that’s a clue on how to breed em 🤔 i miss living in the philippines edit: my dad still lives there and he said there’s not a lot anymore due to stray cats getting em :(
We used to have lizards in my Southern California neighborhood, too.. Haven't seen one, for 3 years, now. There was a pair of Alligator lizards that had two babies between our buildings every year, and one would survive. Now, there's lots of cats and zero lizards.
I love reptiles and i love learning about animals so this channel is already up my ally, but honestly seeing Clint's enthusiasm with animals he loves is what makes me truly treasure this channel
Just checked, I could buy them in Poland. (The listing I saw even mentioned this video!) I'm just gonna wait untill I get a stable job. I absolutly love herping for local common lizards.
Saw these guys in a pet store and even with a glass barrier I was just amazed at how puppy-like they were! They would be very fun to have. I’ll definitely get a few once captive bred are more available.
This guy is so wholesome, I swear. I have always wanted a lizard and his videos have been helping me try to figure out which one I will try and get when I finally graduate high school and can finally get a reptile.
Lol i love you guys! I love how much more spunk and how comfortable you are in front of the camera now. I was rewatching old videos and they are awesome and it's cool to see how you have changed and grown :) Michelle i hope your plan works out because it seems brilliant to me 😊
I used to keep and breed them for a few years - about 7 years ago now. Now looking back I think they were some of the best of all of my pet lizards, definitely in the top five. :) You're right, they are amazing. And yes, they aren't difficult to breed at all. I'd warn against keeping them in groups though, I had a male and two females, and the bigger female kept bullying the smaller one, to the extent of biting off the end of her tail. I had to separate them, obviously. Needless to say you should always separate the young (better still when they are eggs -but those aren't always easy to find) from the adults or else the 'kids' will most certainly get eaten or injured. One great thing about this species is that it's easy to tell their gender even at a pretty young age (males have bright yellow pads on their hind 'feet' - kind of like yellow 'heels') - which is a blessing if you've ever tried to determine the gender of a skink or in lizards in general.
Well I’ve seen this video a million times and three years later Clint has made these so popular the availability score should be 1 I’ll get my hands on some one day
Skinks are my favorite reptile, and one of my favorite animals on the Earth! There's nothing quite like a skink, and you're right, they have quite a bit of character. Every skink I've ever had is like an impressive and ferocious little dinosaur, but at the same time very very cute. And so pretty! They're like living breathing gemstones!
I rarely see these lizards at our school, and it's so cool when you see them. Even when making the slightest movement or sound will scare them away. They are very interesting lizards.
I bought 2 at a show , rough caught , one passed away , but the one I have is great , does all you have said . Jumps out on me , eats from my hand , smiles all the time
Hey Clint ! I just wanted to say that this is by far my favorite Chanel ! Highly educational and fun. This is how I discovered my love for reptiles. I currently have a crested gecko and bearded dragon. I really think that TH-cam needs more channels like this. Thanks !
I want to breed various reptiles in the future, these seem like a good addition to the list if they are as easy to as people tend to say. Although I will need to do a lot research by then.
I THINK I FOUND A BETTER PET LIZARD! You have to do a video on the Schneider’s skink! 1. Not as small. 2. Not as skittish 3. Longer lifespan. 4. Still very friendly!
Clint, are you spying on me? I’ve been looking for a smallish green lizard to live in a large paludarium. Well you made this video, and a week of research later, it’ll be here in 2 days. (I’m starting with one then I’ll add on) I’m so excited!!! They’re literally exactly what I’ve been looking for!
When i went to bicol (part of the philippines) for a 1 week vacation, i saw a bunch of these guys just hanging around a jackfruit tree close to our house, i even saw tokay geckos and flying lizards there. It was the best day in my life, just to see those animals in their native habitats make me so happy and grateful that they are in this world. I wanna keep an emerald tree skink someday if possible
These guys are reminding me of the Emerald grass lizzard, and to be honest you should cover them too if you get the chance (if you did i will watch it right away lol), they are really fun to watch, i saw one swing on its tail on a branch once and i thought it was really unique and awesome
I just watched your most recent video on these lil darlings. They are adorable. I think they should get a 5 on everything but that's just me. Now I have to decide if I want a blue tongue skink or a green tree stain or a pair of jumping spiders. Clint you are opening my eyes and my mind to all different sorts of animals that I could have as pets and for that I thank you.
Clint, I think you've convinced me. My corn snake Isis (that name didn't age well) passed away last year, and I'm about ready for a new pet. I was leaning towards cresties, but I've had rats before and lizards that act like rats sounds perfect. Thanks!
This video has made me want go get a large group to breed them. I've been breeding snakes for a while and I've been eating to branch out to skinks but hadn't found any that really caught my eye until these guys! I absolutely love them and I'm excited to start this as a new project!
@@mattford7223 I saw that but I'm very hesitant to buy from them due to a history of getting sick animals. I might not have much of an option though considering it is a rarer one to find in the pet trade.
Since watching this video the first time , a few weeks ago, it’s all I’ve been researching. Absolutely fell in love 😍 can’t wait to find a breeding pair to bring home . Thank you so much Clint , we prob wouldn’t have known this sweet awesome lizard even existed without your channel . I absolutely Adore the 2 you guys ended up getting with the blueish tones faces and really hope to eventually find 2 like them... or maybe even buy a pair from you once you start breeding them
Hey clint, It might be hard to find. However, a video about the yellow spotted climbing toad would be amazing . I was super stoked about your sarasinorum gecko video. thank you for the reptile content
Clint, if you think these, adorable, green tree skinks are awesome, interactive, fun to watch, beautiful and relatively easy to handle...you should REALLY look into Eastern Collared Lizards! I would LOVE it if you did an episode about them, I have one that I got this year and I love him, I'm definitely going to be getting more to add to my collection. They are so great they have a nick-name "the bearded dragon of North America"...that alone should tell you they are pretty awesome, and, they are beautiful!! Please look into them!
There are lots of that here in Philippines and I got bitten so hard way back 23 years ago. I wounded my thumb. Emeral Tree Skin in the wild are anti-social and doesn't like being approach by people. There are also brown color. In Cebu, the name of that lizard is Tabili.
Wtf. We can always see that lizard here in the Philippines. I appreciate you guys who showed great love to them. Based on my experience, these lizards are harmless and afraid of humans. There were many cases where I encountered such lizard when I climbed a coconut tree. They just ran away so fast. Btw, we called them "tabili". Edit: We can also see rare species or animals that are endemic here in the Philippines. It includes Philippine Sailfin Lizard (ibid), Giant Golden-Crowned Flying Fox (kabog), Mindanao Flying Lizard (hambubukag)
Theres an advert from a breeder not far from me in Yorkshire who is selling captive bred emerald tree skinks at 10 months old for 100 pounds each! This is tragic for me as I dont currently have the room for an active lizard enclosure and Ive not moved out due to corona essentially shutting down university life here in Britain. This is such an oppertunity aswell as you say they dont show up captive bred often! I hope somebody picks them up and gains joy out of them. Or perhaps I might just finally muster the energy to get rid of the sheer level of junk and clutter in my bedroom to make space for a skinky housemate. They are absolutely incredible little guys
Big thanks to Ridge for sending me this wallet and supporting the channel! Here’s the site if you

Hey Clint will you ever do a video on the Cuban knight anole because I have been offered some?
I think it would be great if you did one of these videos on durmerils boa or maybe box turtles if u haven’t already
Hi Clint, i love your channel. Can you make a video about sakishima grass lizard (Takydromus Dorsalis). They are rare and beautiful lizard from Japan

Clint: I want one
Me: Me too clint me too
Thank you guy's so much for 14 like's
I love lizards, the way they look at you is so precious. These are beautiful.
What a pretty Skinks. Love active they look
They are amazingly adorable!!
Michelle almost couldn't handle it.
I love em. They're on the very short list
Aren't they special?
@@ClintsReptiles4 CBB babies arriving tomorrow!
These guys are reminding me of the Emerald grass lizzard, and to be honest you should cover them too if you get the chance (if you did i will watch it right away lol), they are really fun to watch, i saw one swing on its tail on a branch once and i thought it was really unique and awesome
Can you do a video on keeping chickens. I honestly think they have real possibilities for being the best pet reptile.
Yeah, we should :)
They are super cool lizards for sure. Could even say they're SKINKING awesome! Would definitely love some in my mini collection.
Woah these are gorgeous!
Right?? I can't get over them.
I just had a pair arrive today and they were immediately friendly and started checking me out.
I love the end part with everyone loving on the lil lizards and convincing each other to buy them
Clint, I think you've convinced me. My corn snake Isis (that name didn't age well) passed away last year, and I'm about ready for a new pet. I was leaning towards cresties, but I've had rats before and lizards that act like rats sounds perfect. Thanks!
that cute little head tilt they've got there
This video has made me want go get a large group to breed them. I've been breeding snakes for a while and I've been eating to branch out to skinks but hadn't found any that really caught my eye until these guys! I absolutely love them and I'm excited to start this as a new project!
Underground reptiles is selling adults if your ready to start breeding
@@mattford7223 I saw that but I'm very hesitant to buy from them due to a history of getting sick animals. I might not have much of an option though considering it is a rarer one to find in the pet trade.
wow they are adorable! definitely some crossover between lizards and goats cause I love both so much too :)
Cute green Scale puppies!
I absolutely Adore the 2 you guys ended up getting with the blueish tones faces and really hope to eventually find 2 like them... or maybe even buy a pair from you once you start breeding them
Just found your channel and your voice is so relaxing. Also these skinks colouration is so cool and beautiful!
Half of the skink shots (tm) look like they’re smiling at some joke only they know! So cute
I want one!!!! I loved how it kept turning its head and eyeballing the camera!!!!! Too dang cute 😍
