      The whole thing is just absurd. Identity is constant feedback system between biology and the external world. Personality is built on an exchange between people and how they interact. Hormones, brain lobe differentiation, strength, etc all important factors in determining male vs female.

      You are a molecular, cellular, and developmental biologist and biochemist. Yet, yoh are not a psychiatrist, or mental health expert. You deal with the body, so no wonder you will only believe in that. It is ssf cientifically proven there is a difference between gender and sex. And there is a different between male and female. So, if you would like to calmly discuss our disagreements, let's do so. c:

    • @Buck_Fiden658
      @Buck_Fiden658 2 ปีที่แล้ว +628

      @@junyun1731 there is definitely a difference. One that cannot be changed. Gender and sex are not completely different. Gender is based on sex. A person can be more masculine or more feminine no matter their sex/gender but that doesn't change their sex/gender. Just as sexual preference doesn't change a person's gender. Let's break down LGBTQ. Leabian-sexual preference, Gay-preference. Bi-preference, Queer- preference (and the same thing as gay lesbian and bi) trans is the only one which is a preference of what gender/sex the person wants themselves to be but that cannot be changed. Not even with surgery.

    • @pnwlady
      @pnwlady 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s going to implode from the inside because being trans has been co-opted by too many posers who want the privilege without meeting the definition. I see a fight coming between traditional trans and those in title only. Their goals in many ways are in conflict. Because the new trans are often also the gender rainbow/non-binary folks, which is in opposition to the two sexes concept that gender dysphoria is based on.

      It's not exactly an "interview." It is a sort of a game, where people are invited to formulate their reasons for holding their beliefs. So, letting people speak and listening to them is the central thing in the experiment. Boghossian is explicitly interested in letting people talk and actually nudges them to be as clear as they can (while trying his best to keep a neutral position).

      Nah, can't agree with that one.... There's definitely women who use the phrase "be a man", "he's not a man", "he's a boy, not a man", etc and people will take her side. Society allows women to define men as well.
      Gender wasn't a social construct until around the time of "The Second Sex" by Judith Butler, iirc. Anyone can be a man and anyone can be a woman if gender is purely socially constructed; those terms don't refer to physical facts but to arbitrary social conventions. This is the viewpoint of a woman (Butler) taken to it's logical conclusion.
      Can't separate the idea from it's foundation in feminist philosophy and then say it's an expression of Gendered Power Dynamics favoring men. That's just anti-historical. The idea came from somewhere before men and women started using it popularly.

That's classic locker room lingo, not just female bitchings.
      About being a "boy" and not a "man" no one is actually arguing the person has not experienced puberty. These phrases you example are not at all meant to be literal, unlike the case with sex...where we are now meant to literally believe the person is not actually a man.

      Even if the person actually WAS trans, which I doubt, how is their criminal behavior somehow blamed on being trans?
      Why on earth, wouldn't you blame the people that housed this person with other women when he was charged with rape of women?

Leah didn't care one iota about the female's discomfort. A similar thing has happened at a local swimming pool to me, but the women who found a male in their changing room - a man in his 60s' who said he identified as a woman, but was wholly intact and didn't look like a woman at all, would certainly not pass as a woman- the male was walking around naked after using the shower and there were women and children in there. The women, mostly mothers, didn't just accept it and internalise the issue, there were multiple complaints made. the male was told by management that they could not do that and the male formally complained. the male was offered a private room to change in, but that was refused. The male wanted to be in the women's changing room. I really think this is more about autogynephilia.

    Putting a man's comfort over a woman's safety haha... I live that once. I broke up with a guy and he didn't like it. He told me if I got to protective order against him I wouldn't like what he would do to me. I assume if he really genuinely thought that a judge would prioritize his hurt feel-bads over my safety. He mumbled, "I don't know." I called BS, that he did indeed know. Ultimately, I held that boundary and because of how he responded to that, he spent a year in prison. I haven't heard from him since 🎉

It's gotten to the point that when talking to her, I refer to her as my grandchild. For example, when someone asks me which of my granddaughters are going someplace, and I know that she might be listening, I'll say my eldest grandchild is going because if I said her birth name or referred to her as granddaughter then the drama queen will come out big time. I had my goddaughter text me and tell me she now identifies as a boy and she is changing her name to Kyle. I calmly told her I would call her whatever she likes, but why is she changing now. She told me that she was being pressured at school to give a pronoun. I said, "so you aren't changing for you, but for them." I continued to have a conversation with her and told her that for a movement that doesn't want to be identified as anything they demand pronouns. I said pronouns are identity markers in the English language so their demand is asinine. She was taken aback and said I was right. I told her I have always been a tomboy. Dress like a boy, haircut like a boy, but I am a female and love men. I wouldn't have the family I have now if someone had convinced me I was a male. I also told her that we grew up in the 80's. The guys wore more makeup than the girls, wore girl clothes, and had long hair, big hair, and used more hairspray than the girls did. Yet they were men. We had Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Judas Priest, Elton John, and Boy George who were gay men, who were pioneers and dang good artists. Then we had androgynous singers like Prince, Annie Lennox, and David Bowie who broke the norms, yet they didn't demand we conform. These kids today act like all they are experiencing is something new and innovative, but they are riding the coat tails of others generations before them. What we have now is conditioned children who are being manipulated and brain washed into thinking they are in the wrong body, when they can be anyone they wish to be without changing their biological bodies. The powers that are running this brainwashing movement are purposefully trying to keep the human race from populating and procreating. We have elitists telling other elitists that we need population control and now here we are. They are trying to decimate the human race and what better way than push for this new movement. I know it sounds crazy but we are living in crazy times. I finished by telling her that at the end of the day she may change herself completely, but that doesn't change her internally, not her heart, not her soul, not her mind. She will always be who she is on the inside regardless of what she does to the outside. I told her to look up all the Trans who are regretting their decisions and get back to me. She hasn't, but she has abandoned her quest to have me call her Kyle.

      For this issue. I totally agree. For other issues, relativity plays a role. eg: "The meteor crashed into the earth", true from our POV. But possible that Earth was flying through space & the meteor was stationary. the "truth" is that Earth struck the meteor.
      And "truth" changes over time. In the '50's the atom was the smallest thing you could get. Then we discovered sub-atomic particles. Similarly, it is impossible to fly faster than the speed of sound. Until we did it.
      It is likely that ones sense of gender is something that we know very little about. So the "truth" may change as we learn more. However, that doesn't mean that 51% of the population should be made uncomfortable to accommodate the needs of much less than 1%.

      @@nathaningle8309 Yeah, I agree. You can’t label someone transphobic for believing there are (generally) two sexes. That’s absurd. But that’s also happening. If people were wilfully ignoring science that supports trans activist’s arguments, maybe you can call it transphobia. And I do think they are using that as a basis for their arguments, because some scientists have said sex is not as black and white as we may think. The absurdity is that these scientists are still taking about the exceptions, not the rule. The fact that they ignore and punish scientists who support the *general* rule that there are two sexes is insane. All rules in biology are general.

      And so media organisations that present themselves as high quality curators of debate allowed that steamroller of fear mongering cancellation to get established. Then individuals were on their own to be picked off, cancelled, fired etc. Really disgusting as that style of debate is completely contrary to those many media organisations' general principles, but they allowed activists to go way further than they should have. They had no spine. Media editing is difficult sometimes, it shouldn't consist merely of swimming in the immediate current you're floating in, sitting on the bandwagon. But this was got up as 'being on the right side of history', taking on the establishment, the next huge injustice to be overturned. It was oversimplistic uncritical crumbling.

      On the same level as piercing, tatoos, dying hair, picking your clothes, getting a tan, having your nose surgically altered and other plastic surgeries.
      The issue with your argument about bio women is what about trans men? They're bio women, so should they still be allowed to go to their spaces?
      IMO, I don't understand the whole "segregate men and women bathrooms". The vast majority of bathrooms I've seen in my life are genderless.
      I've been to saunas and guess what: genderless. I'm not american. I assume when you're accustomed to have men and women in the same spaces,
      and people are not acting like dirty primates, people just never learn to care about this.

    • @mystosplosion
      @mystosplosion ปีที่แล้ว +40

      @@vukkulvar9769 I’m not against any of that. I’m against the shutting down of reasonable concerns about children-not adults-altering their bodies irreparably before they understand who and what they are. Identity issues are common in young people. I am against the denial that the vast majority of people fall into only one category of either bio man or bio woman. I think intersex people should go where they feel comfortable. I also wish trans people could go where they feel comfortable, but not at the expense of women feeling uncomfortable. The risk of a trans man harming bio men in a public washroom is slim. Additionally, a lot of trans men don’t feel safe in male public bathrooms, so despite identifying as men, they continue to use female bathrooms. All you need to do is look at the statistics of sexual violence against women to understand women’s concerns. I’m not against trans people having their own spaces. I think a great solution would be for there to be gender neutral bathrooms in addition to segregated. Then anyone who feels comfortable can use the gender neutral bathrooms, and women can feel safer using the washroom publicly if they decide to stick with women’s washrooms.
      I have to be honest, though. I don’t have a clear solution for all these problems. I think low-testosterone trans women should also have safe spaces, especially are more prone to abuse if they aren’t passing. The issue here is that there are predators taking advantage of these new norms, and the victims of this are going to be women. The other issue is that people can’t openly talk about these concerns without being labeled bigots and transphobes. I’m not digging this new culture of Orwellian Newspeak around these issues. I think open discussion is the way to a better world for all of us. Currently the norm is to literally ignore the safety concerns of the majority of a demographic to address the safety concerns of a tiny minority. That’s wacky to me. As an empathic person, I feel we do need to care for minority demographics, but I think it’s utterly absurd to do it at the expense of a much larger group.
      One more concise point on the topic of transitioning: Surgeries to prevent suicide is inherently absurd and speaks to a larger issue. Cosmetic surgeries of any kind come down to ego and belonging. We need a society that accepts people for how they are, and if that happens, surgeries would be unnecessary be people would be more accepting of themselves.

    Women are agreeing to this kind of stuff because they're afraid of what society will say and think of them personally. It's all based on fear. Even so to the point that if a woman disagrees with the trans views, she'll still Express that she agrees with them not really to be accepted in society and groups of friends, etc etc. Thank you so much for your honest videos girl this is amazing this needs to stop. @@Wokevaccine I agree that fear of being attacked on SM should never stand in the way of us standing up for what we believe. I'll also confess that I'm an insecure person who has often allowed my fear of confrontation and desire for approval stop me from doing/saying what was right.
      However, unfortunately, fear of what society will say and do doesn't just affect people on social media.
      - People have been fired because they didn't walk in step with the politically correct culture (Kara Lynne and the Limited Run Games controversy).
      - Future jobs opportunities can taken away because the person has been blackballed (Vic Mignogna).
      - If you donate to the "wrong" political party (or political candidate), people can try to blackball you too (creator of Five Nights at Freddy's games).
      - If you create art and have politically incorrect ideology, media coverage can attempt to sabotage your art/career every step of the way (Eric July and his Rippaverse), which can be a death sentence for artists, who NEED positive word of mouth and to be noticed in order to make a living.
      - Accusers can attempt to damage your public image and reputation as well (Henry Cavill's treatment from the rest of The Witcher team).
      Of the above examples, only one was due to SM (Kara Lynne was fired due to her following Conservative twitter accounts and a singular tweet calling out the dangers to women with allowing transgender usage of women's bathrooms).
      SM can (and often does) exacerbate this, but it's a problem that people who don't even use social media have suffered from.

      The biggest problem I have with all this, is unfortunately the vast majority of support and outcry for these insane policies and backwards thinking but emotionally driven choices are done by.... Drum-roll please...... White Women... I wish as a straight man I could say I don't understand these male inmates, but I do... 1. I'm straight so I'm attracted to women, 2. Men's prisons are notoriously more dangerous and filled with higher level of violence. And 3. Given the choice what straight man wouldnt choose to be with a bunch of women. These people are criminals, they didn't get get incarcerated because they sold a hundred boxes of girl scout cookies, no... they fought the law thinking they were smart enough to get away with breaking the law, and they lost. Who is shocked that this mindset would be capable of coming up with this ploy? They are criminals, they aren't worried about who they hurt or offend. All I am saying is, big hearted whitre women deciding based on emotion and not logic is the root cause of the vast majority of this nonsense. Everything from the office restrooms, college sororities, professional sport/Olympics all the way to false claims to get in female prisons and jails. I think it's time white women wake up and stop screaming and fighting for the rights of Men to take away more from women... just my 2 cents, whatever that's worth
