I would sure be interested to know which Chevy truck pan would fit my 56 car! Sure would be cheaper than some of the race parts! I have plasma torch, mig/tig welders, etc, but hate to have to build my own. ;)
No the control arms are fine it's the springs that you may think about changing to a higher spring rate , my car has no front bumper and no inner fenders and alot of deleted items so it's lighter and about the same as the stock 6cyl I would add a sway bar definitely tho...
Yes Im using a th400 different length than stock and with moving the engine forward I had a heavy wall dom tubing one custom made with good u joints , I didn't even have a stock one for comparison..
@omz6535 Well, I already had my 427 in my 56 many years ago. Just got started on restoring it, again. ;) 4 speed, stock drive shaft. I raised my car up slightly, by making 3/4" spacer blocks and placed them in between the new poly body mounts and car. Hooker headers fit, some denting on steering box. Not too much. Firewall cleared. Had stock HEI distributor cap, no problem. My headers are getting old and rusty and thin. Looking for new ones. Thanks for your time. FYI, I'm 73 years old, hope this is the last time I have to do this! ;) Sorry, meant to say stock rear mounts, Lakewood scatter shield, Front mounts in 6 cylinder holes, with stock front type mounts. :)
I did this in 1990. Pretty much the same but a Chevy truck pan fit and stock engine mounts in the 6-cylinder frame holes.

Love the tri5s
I’m late to the party. Trying to squeeze a 454 into a 1950 Chevy Fleet
Do you feel I need to change the control arms to support the added weight of the BB

@@llcustomz6535 Thank you I really appreciate your time and expertise! I am running a aluminum intake and headers so I know It's lighter than stock
can you supply the part number and manufacturer on the mounts?
Performance online part # TCM5557DXX
@@llcustomz6535 Thank You
Did you have to make a new driveshaft after moving the engine forward??

Did you have to remove the stock transmission mounts to clear your headers? if so just the driver side or both? thanks in advance
I removed both because I thought they would crowd things and yes my Headers would not have fit with them in place plus lighter = racecar lol
@@llcustomz6535 Thank you I really appreciate your time!
My car will just be a cruiser but Nothing Sounds like a Big Block!!
I didn’t remove anything. Headman makes headers that fit.
