    Great video! How is this pedal compared to the wholly mammoth for bass?

    • @TheBassChannel
      @TheBassChannel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +Carlos Marchant Wooly Mammoth is actually intended for bass. Therefore, it has more bottom-end and is less finicky than this one. We'll have a video on it soon.

      Bassic Gear Review thanks for replying! Awesome channel!

      The Bass Channel Yes, but they did add the sub switches with bass guitar in mind. Someone like me loves how glitchy and crazy it sounds though, haha. Wooly Mammoth is a killer pedal too, but they are really just very different fuzzes.

    very cool. it definitely looks versatile but only few settings sound musical to my ears. would be nice if it had a blend knob.

      Boss LS-2: The ultimate blend knob.

      Unfortunately, LS-2 would kill bass more than blend it. 3 transistor gain stages.

      @@isher9035 Here is how I get around having pedals without a blend knob (it should be illegal for a bass pedal to be without one). At the beginning of your signal chain have a pedal that has a dry and a wet output. I happen to have an EHX Mono Synth but some tuner pedals have 2 outs or you can use a simple ABY pedal. Your dry out will be your clean bass signal. I put a cheap EQ pedal on that signal chain for tone shaping, but it isn't needed. Your wet out will be your normal effects chain. Since you have now have 2 signal chains you will need to get a summer pedal to bring the 2 signals together as 1 so you can send it to your amp. I use one I got from Saturnworks that has a volume knob for each channel so you can blend to your taste. In summary, split the signal at the beginning of your pedal board into a clean signal and an effected signal signal, then use a summer pedal at the end to combine both signal chains back into 1 and adjust the volume of each so you can blend to taste. Make sense?

    that thing sounds terrifying. Also what in the world bass is that?

      +LordMattoo93 1992 Fender JP-90. It's got a set of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounds in it.

    How's it handle the low end on this one?

    • @TheBassChannel
      @TheBassChannel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Otero Vidal A lot of that depends on how you have the controls set but Sub 2 and 3 can push some lows with the correct settings dialed in.

    Again, nice video. I'm looking for a little help. I've watched fuzz after fuzz after fuzz video, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I'm looking to get Paul McCartney's "Think for Yourself" fuzz tone. perhaps I could do it with what's on my board already, I have a SpectraComp>MojoMojo>Tech 21 VTBass>TC Electronic Spark Mini. There are other things before and after, but that's my compression/ distortion/overdrive/boost section. if not, what pedal do you suggest for my purpose, without breaking the bank since it wouldn't get much use? Thanks in advance for the advice.

      It's a much-debated topic but the general consensus is that it's either a Maestro or a Tone Bender as both were heavily used in that era. Neither of which you'll find at an alluring price today. The Maestro Fuzz is also most famous for its use in the Stones' song, "Satisfaction". EHX makes a fuzz pedal aptly called, "Satisfaction" that allegedly recreates that tone. Your best bet may be to check out that pedal, as EHX is usually pretty low in their prices. If that doesn't work for you, look into 2 or 3 transistor Germanium fuzz pedals. Fulltone has a couple options that may get you close; The Soul Bender and the '69. You could maybe look into the Fuzz Face line and see if any of the Germanium-equipped pedals suit your needs. Hope that helps.
