    Ladies and gentlemen, we'd like to indroduce you to the Fat Fuzz Factory, a take on our original company flagship Fuzz Factory. The Fat Fuzz Factory feature a sub switch that opens the pedal up to an astounding new botton end. This means the pedal can oscillate at much lower registers, giving it some very interesting thunder broom synth qualities. Based on our field reports, this new fatness lends itself particularly well to the bass guitar, and rips equally well on guitar.
    Z.VEX Effects Fat Fuzz Factory (Vexter) Features:
    VOLUME: Output level.
    GATE: Squelches noise after end of sustain. Turn to right to eliminate squeals, hiss and buzz, stopping just as they disappear, or use to tune in exact feedback pitch, if you're that kind. Turning to left opens gate.
    COMPRESS: Adds attack characteristic when turned to left, which gets softer to right, and suddenly pinches tone when all the way right. Also use to tune in fat feedbacky fuzz, if you're that kind. Lower the Stability and see what happens to this control.
    DRIVE: Increases distortion when used as a "normal" fuzz, and adjusts feedback pitch and tonal thickness, if you're that kind. This control becomes meaningless when Compress is all the way right.
    STABILITY: Use all the way right. Do not attempt to adjust this control below 2:00, unless you like your fuzz soft and squishy. Use to control feedback pitch. (Did I say that already?)
    WARNING: Many "incorrect" settings on this pedal squeal. This may annoy the faint-hearted. If you use the example settings, you won't get hurt. I don't want to see anyone hurt. Unless you're that kind. Don't forget to memorize or write down your favorite settings.
    SUB SWITCH: opens up the pedals bottom end.
    GREENNESS: Yes, folks, like all Z. Vex pedals, it's as low current as possible, extending battery life so long... I have never changed the battery in the prototype (3 years). 'On' current is less than 3 mA... compare to the Tube Screamer (of course an entirely different animal) at almost 40 mA.

    It is something like this. I like to run my Strat copy through a Bass Big Muff, into my Blues Junior. Rather than smooth screaming notes like my other distortion pedal, this turns each note into big, fat, furry caterpillars. If you don't like the taste of caterpillars, I understand. I add delay, and they turn into butterflies.

    Got one of these not long ago. I owned the original version, but wasn't satisfied with it. However, the Zvex Fat Fuzz, is much more versatile. The triple throw switch makes all the difference. I'm not sure how to explain it, since I'm not really a "Fuzz guy." On mode 3 the Zvex gets very "woofy" like a Big Muff. Mode 2 is more straight ahead fuzz. The Fat Fuzz is also very responsive when you tweak your guitar's volume. You can take it down from fuzz to a rich, natural sounding overdrive. I can't say enough about this pedal. IMO... it's winner.

      I prefer the original fuzz factory. It has more balls and bite and is more wild. This thing is too mellow and dull for my liking.

    • @kaicottrell1560
      @kaicottrell1560 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@alfuckem5620 there's no Difference, the only difference is that the original zvex fuzz factory is more expensive, and has a hand painted job. Sound wise is the same. The original zvex fuzz factory is the one with that green hand painted, I've never played or heard a Zvex Fuzz Factory in person, but I could imagine it would be hard to control.

    what this music??

  • @liveweyer
    @liveweyer 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I've always thought of fuzz in terms of colors. The harmonics added by fuzz are a lot to handle but when you can tame them into being as musical as an overdrive, they carry a certain rainbow about them that I can only describe as memorizing. It goes beyond what a smooth guitar can do. That's not to say that smooth guitar can or will EVER go out of fashion totally. Cranked marshalls are too precious to be lost.

    Perhaps this is a silly question, but is there any risk of damaging your amp with this pedal? Other than that, I'm sold 100% :L

    • @shkwave99
      @shkwave99 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      McFro95 Not a silly question. I just got one of these, and I have had the same concern. I'm just not sure about running it into my Palisades OD. Don't wanna hurt that baby! I do know that generally such concerns are not warranted, but this pedal is quite the doozy, and better to be safe than sorry, right? I'll ask next time I'm at Chicago Music Exchange. They know everything.

      @joelghuggins 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Before any major or multiple knob tweak; just make sure you keep your volume low.. Different settings are louder/quiter than others. But the only thing you can hurt is your speakers, not the amp circuit or other pedals. So keep FF volume low when your are twisting other knobs, to protect your speakers. I've used the FF since early 2000.. No it well

    Help! I dont' understand Fuzz... I have been playing for over 20 years, but I dont like Fuzz. I am surrounded by Fuzz, by every possible brand. They are making nothing else than Fuzz. In every shape or form. There must be something wrong with me. Everybody loves and praises Fuzz. I prefere cranked Marshalls, overdrives or smooth distortions. Am I ill? Am I getting old? Going deaf? Can anybody explain to me the beauty of Fuzz? Seriously.

    • @joelghuggins
      @joelghuggins 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Harmonix..And it was all over ZZ Tops, Aerosmith's, Led Zeppelin's, Jeff Becks, early albums. You don't always have to set it as intense as the YT videos..The demoes of Fuzz on YT is always the extreme settings and most trebley.. But he actually does some great natural amp tones, type tones in this video..

    • @joshfowler8360
      @joshfowler8360 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joelghuggins fuzz is the opposite of the tones you are describing so try and find the most far out worst sounding noise you can then get a drummer and try it. if it sounds at all like your main tone it wont work you already have that get as far from your main tone as possable its a varity of sounds you want to create a tool box of tone you wouldnt bring 1 tool to the job or the gig . i use a fuzz into a phaser then flager then tremolo then delay then reverb i like havn more than 1 modulation pedal because then i can combine them hope that helps have a good 1
