The Chester the Hippie storyline was my introduction to Alan Moore. I already knew of Swamp Thing from the 90's tv series, but always thought he looked so much cooler in the comics. So I was pretty excited when I was gifted a bunch of old Swamp Thing comics. They didn't sell at my neighbor's garage sale. "Don't show your mom, some of them are kind of more for grown-ups. You know how moms are." Hell yeah, that made it even cooler! lol. PS - Sorry to nitpick, but "Brujeria" is actually pronounced "Broo-her-ree-ah" and means witchcraft in Spanish.
You forgot to mention that the "Pog" issue is a homage to Walt Kelly´s classic comic strip "Pogo". It makes much more sense if you read it knowing that.
He also does this in V for Vendetta and From Hell, to the point that I had to abandon my read through of each. I just assumed that he always wrote bangers like Watchmen, but sometimes he goes full Warlock with it and it's tedious if you're just a regular weirdo and not on the level
@@nodiggity9472 From Hell was really engaging, but that extended jaunt through every street in London was truly impressive, but almost as soon as it wrapped up I found myself unable to complete the other 75%, it was just too daunting

@@RiskOfPain thanks for the correction haha. My pronunciation is awful especially with forgien words.
@@AeternumInferis for sure, I only know the pronunciation because there is a spanish death metal band by the same name, haha.

I see. Thanks for the information.
The big final battle and the seance in American Gothic is one of my favorite crossovers
The Pog issue is just Alan Moore being self indulgent, tryna make up his own version of English. Like he does in Crossed 100+

@@KerryOverby-me3db In "From Hell" Moore used authentic Victorian vernacular, but in "V", he was just flexing his vocabulary.

got some Garth Merengue vibes from the opening interview
