What a great net of quality fish Jon. Nice to have such a great venue near by. As I am currently totally bed bound due to a serious issue with my lower back watching these video's help a great deal in passing the time. Thanks Jon. Cheers
What a great session, been a bit crook myself lately and the only day I can go its going to be minus 3 c. so maybe leave it this week, thank you Jon for showing me what I’m missing.
Cracking stuff, those hybrids 😮 i watch a fair bit of match and coarse stuff even though i no longer do it - but it’s where I began as a kid. The float camera is great 👍
Another superb video Jon, always enjoy your videos so much especially these ones at the marina as they always remind me of when I used to fish a canal in east London back in the 90's. Keep em coming mate 👍. Hope you and the family are back to full health soon
We've all had the "cough" down here in Wiltshire, lasts for a month or two then, just like that it's gone !! beautiful session, loving the float cam. Those perch must have been hungry to take casters like that, as ever great video !! Cheers.
Lovely friday night watch jon. Its a shame we dont see as many matches on the canals as we used to where i live....i think commercial fishing is definately safer for fishing and parking your car these days, but cracking fish them ! 👌
Canals are great fun when you get the big roach and bream on the feed wher is that bit you fish mate i would like a bash there looks good apart from the boats that go past😊
Luvverly redfin. Fishing asides, I was out lure fishing on the GUC in Northants last week & saw that plane come over - only seemed to be a few feet above the treetops. All looked a bit cold war if you ask me. Or maybe the pilot is a keen angler looking for likely zander swims.
Fished it this morning Jon !! I fished pretty much the same times and I had eight boats thro’ !!! So it was a bit of a let down !! As commented on earlier about the speedy boat It wasn’t CRT as I’m sure they know better !!
Just an add on Jon ……the plane was a shorts skyvan prob doing a trip back to brize Norton to pick up some more parachutists to drop at west on on the green !
Excellent video, excellent result. Is it still possible to catch several pound of gudgeon in the Oxford, or have they disappeared, as they seem to have done from most other canals ?
They've all but gone now I'm afraid, I think thanks to many types of predators :-( Used to catch 100s at Somerton when I was a club angler but you'll more likely hook a crayfish now
@@JonArthur give us a shout i caught 20lb in 2 hours on friday in the river on bolo tactics. Fish up to 12oz. To be honest i spent an hour messing around trying to catch chub and perch.
Ahhh, help! I fish the Coventry canal for the same skimmers, bream and occasional tench on bread disks. I also catch a fish that I don't know what it is - if you think crucian-ish that's been inflated so it's more round than it is broad or long - does that ring any bells? Cheers
I noticed that too on the float cam. Shows up lots of things you might not realise. I just hadn’t straightened it enough off the winder so a bit of memory still. I don’t use fluoro for rigs. 👍
Hello 👋 John we’re in Oxford were you ? I live in birmingham. We’re can you park your car and is it far from car 🚘 to the boats Marina in Oxford thank you John god bless you and all your family
Yes you will need an Environment Agency rod licence to fish any UK waters. Each canal is managed by a different club or association, so they each have different rules for fishing, but most allow day ticket fishing and many are payable to a bailiff on the bank or in advance from a local tackle shop (usually from £3 to £8 for a day ticket). Get a rod licence on this link: www.gov.uk/fishing-licences/buy-a-fishing-licence
@@JonArthuri always wanted to ask you about the weather and catch more or less fish ( 1033 b is less fish I noticed my self an around 1023 or lower I catch more fish) that you had taken the video it was in Amsterdam 1033 b got no fish at all 😢
@JonArthur it was on a popular FB page the other day that you had that's all can't remember which one now but it definitely said it mate that's why I was asking pal!?

Great video really love the float cam👍
Float cam? What sort of camera is that? You mean the canon slr with zoom lens focused on the float! No such thing as a float cam!!
Thanks Garry
😆

Fantastic video john, reminds me of fishing Nottingham canal many moons ago.

The southern canals were always very good from all the old match reports I used to fondly read
Great session Jon, weather was good to you for a change
Yes it was for a rare change!!
Nice video once again Jon and a lovely net of fish 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Great session Jon, love the float cam a definite improvement.
Regards Dave.
Thanks David. I've used a float cam on a lot of my films, obviously not my live matches though
Brilliant catch
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Benni ashurst would be proud of your caster fishing
I think he would've, but only if I used a peacock dibber!
Nice one Jon,
Really enjoy your canal sessions, best one so far. What a bag of fish.
Hope your daughter didn't beat you up after!
She always knocks me black and blue bless her!

Thats a Great Session Jon

Cracking bag of fish
Thanks for watching
I'm not a great lover of the canal, Jon lad. But that's an awesome bag of silvers mate. Keep up the great videos. Stay happy, well and take care.
.
Thanks Stephen. A day on the bank is the best medicine
That's a proper roach Jon!!
Cheers Peter, love a big canal roach
Another cracking video Jon, much prefer these canal sessions, strange Mr Pike and Mr Zander didn’t put in an appearance!
Yes, just one predator strike. I normally see a few big splashes and strikes looking up and down but not today
Brilliant jon.. cracking vid as always ❤
Cheers Ant
Cracking video John. That CRT boat was shifting though
I think it looked worse as this bit is so shallow and silty
That plane looked like a sky van. Use them at Weston on the green for parachute courses.
Yes I looked it up and thats exactly what it was. Looked like a crate with wings!
Nice 1 Jon keep it coming
Thanks Brian will try my best
Quality peg, quality angler = quality fish
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Nice fish Jon 👍
Thanks Steve
Brilliant Jon, you really enjoyed that session didn't you mate 🙂

Shame we are not allowed to fish the Marina stretches up here in Scotland. Good to see you enjoying your fishing!
Thanks Gavin, come down south!

Sounds precisely like a crucian carp or a brown goldfish to me? Or a very chunky rudd?
Just the best 56:04
Glad you enjoyed it
Great vid as usual, what size elastic do you use with this stamp of fish? 🎣
Just heard you say elastic size 😅 too impatient 😂
No6
no worries
Well done John thank you so do you live in Oxford? Then ???
Oxfordshire 👍
TOP quality always nice to get away from manmade fishing ie carp lakes gives a bit of sanity
Thanks Michael
Where about on Oxford is this canal mate great video
noticed your line is creased jon, are you using fluro through to your hook length ?
I noticed that too on the float cam. Shows up lots of things you might not realise. I just hadn’t straightened it enough off the winder so a bit of memory still. I don’t use fluoro for rigs. 👍

Happily have a match up there with you and your granny 🤣🤣🤣

Come on mate....should know by now what fish you've hooked by the fight 😂
I normally have a good idea but a big fish on a 6 elastic could be anything
did you record yourself at the 2 day feeder masters special jon, ?
Yes there’s a 2hour special in my members area 👍
We was this video taken??
Oxford Canal. All info in description👍

Is it true that you've left matrix jon?
Nope

About right for FB, hence why I dont use it other than updating my own pages.
When you pack up fishing you could get a job in the film industry see a lot worse
Ahh thanks for that. It'd certainly pay better ha ha
New prototype hooklength boxes Jon?
No they're the Preston ones as I used their pre-tieds which fit it
