i've lost count of the number of dinners that have ended up in the dog from the last cast that lasts an hour 😆 great to see yoy making a recovery from your covid adventure
Love to see your comando sessions Jon, takes me back to the 70s when we would spend a week in the Fens fishing the Old Bedford and others in the area. 😊
That’s something I’ve not done for a few years, spontaneous sessions making the most of work logistics.. great to see and hear you getting back to a normal healthy chap.. brilliant 🎉
Great video, lovely venue...and no, you can't finish on a bleak, just can't do it. I've been watching a lot of your vids lately. Thanks mate, from across the pond. I tend to take the 'last cast' a little far...it's usually dark when i pack up, get the flashlight out style. Last week I was down at my local pond, in the big carp infested, virtually impossible to set up a roller swim I call the 'snag pit'. Dead trees in the water, tree branches above and on all sides, stuck together top 3, mosquitoes, giant snapping turtles and bats, lotsa bats...lost a caty and two rigs, lucky to get out alive.
Great video Jon great when you dont know what your going to pull out, lived in wellingborough for a bit loved fishing the neene would take my gear to work with me as was only a 5 minute walk after work happy days
What a great place to catch fish. Bit breezy at times. Something for every one. I recon looking at the stamp of fish you caught anything between 20 and 40Lbs would be possible if you fished with Match head on. Great departure from the usual Match fare. Thanks Jon for another very good Video. Cheers
You look and sound much better, hopefully you are feeling better too. Thanks for the great video. By the way decoy lakes are just few miles from ramsey. Should we expect video from decoy lakes 🤔
@@JonArthur lol stop it Jon, joking apart it was good to hear ya sounding a lot better I watched Yr vid when u was on the river and it was a really hard watch I actually felt out of breath for you, keep on spraying those carsters😂🎣
Great vid again I love the natural venues!! Quick question I know you fish the Thames festivals etc do you know anything about the Thames champs this year I fished it last year but cannot find any info on it for 2023 thanks Gareth
Well done Jon another very good video with lots of silvers, lots of changes along the way kept the fish coming, i use a charmast charger on my camera all day, no need to change the battery, Thank you
Cheers James. I normally like to leave the enclosure closed and my DJi batteries are really good... IF you remember to bring them! But the overheating was the biggest issue as it was red hot. My old GoPros would have died immediately!
Jon im looking for a pole im thinking the mtx 2 14.5m v2 is this good for skimmers and bream on natural venues and what kit and elastic would you use please
I love my mtx2. It’s absolutely great at 13 and fishable at 14.5 but maybe a bit heavy as you’d expect with any pole in that bracket. All depends where you’re fishing as to the elastics, but winter silvers I’m almost exclusively using no5 and no6 solids.
@@JonArthur yes I'm looking at a number 5 elastic in my current pole and trying to lay on 5 inches on the bottom I get the fish feeding but not catching to many or bumping them so trying to fine down fishing in about 6 to 9 feet of water using a size twenty hook .08 hook length
Not the water it used to be Jon . Can remember a few years ago I fish the Hawker Siddley Championships on there and came second individually , lost a Bream on the whistle which sadly would have won me the match . Team result was rubbish unfortunately.
Come and stay with me neer Perpignan. I bought my house for 5k . I'll talk you through the problems and advantages with french properties. I'm a plasterer and I've renovated dozens of properties in France. You can still buy em for €1 too.
@@JonArthur that comment was meant for someone else, sorry. Great channel though and hard luck on the maver match this final. Get yourself a passport, there's literally fish climbing up your rod. Great for them cold doldrum months too as I'm on the Mediterranean. We barely get a frost.
Last cast Arthurs strikes again, and again, and "I'm not ending on that one" !! cheers Jon.
I should've called the vid 'One more cast!' 😂

😂 I loved the place when I shot a winter feature there years ago with Steve Hemingray

Try Wayne at Top Tackle or Tony Gee at Ace Tackle and they'll help you I'm sure.
Love fishing drains you don’t know what you gonna hook. The drains in Norfolk produce some very large bream
Love a big bream!
I like a bit of elastic out Jon I know then when and if it starts to disappear I need to add sections

Is that a new pole? Sorry if you’ve already talked about it…I just noticed you haven’t got your end sections painted white like you usually have
I used my MTX2 v2. Some of the kits are painted but just not got time at the mo!
You can still catch tench there in January its an amazing venue
Im guessing it'd be great in March for them
Lovely video Jon but no twigs or plastic bag fish😢
Next time! 😂
