Imo this book is perfect for readers with ADHD. The constant switching of POV makes me really get into the story. Though I have to say, this book will probably do well in the future as well, because it switches so regularely. We also see that in the cuts in movies, pomping children's dopamine.
Quite a few factors, big one just being the "mainstreamification" of reading as a whole, specifically on platforms like TokTok and Instagram. Combine that with the fact that women have been dominating fiction sales for a while (80% of fiction book sales are made by women), and you get a perfect storm for Romantasy. A genre traditionally popularized by women, combined with social media outlets where they're able to circulate and thrive at incredible speeds. The escapism of fantasy goes extremely well with romance tropes, just a match made in heaven. And yeah! As long as you're over 21 and writing original fiction (and not a dick), we're pretty open to anyone.
Ok for a second I thought you meant “if you have a dick, you can’t join” but then my brain kicked in and told me that no he meant “no jerks allowed” 🤣 That’s interesting. I didn’t know the percentage of woman readers was that high but it makes sense.
I just finished a river enchanted and I completely agree with your points! It was not great but it was good.

Why do you think Romantasy seems to be such a popular genre right now? Also, can I join your writing group? 😁
