He has so many different plants, many I have never seen and I didn’t know he was such an artist. Thank you, again, for sharing, with us, this little treasure you have in your extended neighborhood 😍

    Marten certainly is gifted. I love his creativity especially those metalwork planters.
    I noticed that he has quite a few plants from the Caribbean. That apple tree is an Otaheite apple found in the tropics. Quite a nice showing . As usual I love your videos Nelson.

      I love that so many people have given me different names of that fruit planar in their country. I wish I could add more trees, but I just have way too many.

    Hi Nelson 😊💕 So nice to see you. I love it when you visit the orchid nurseries. I saw a fruit tree that took me back to when I was a child. My grandmother had one in her yard. It was the apple pear. We call it a pomerac in the southern Caribbean. The tree is enormous, it grows very tall and many people in the country areas have it here. When the fruit gets ripe, it turns into a deep red or even purple on the outside but the inside is white with a medium sized seed. It's sweet and tangy, maybe close to a strawberry in taste. It's one of my favorite local fruits🤩 Another great video. Warm greetings from TnT 😎🌴☀️💕

    Another great video of local orchid nurseries in the Redlands. Thanks Nel. I remember when Krome Ave. was a two lane road with no stop lights for miles.

    • @naturenel
      @naturenel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Krome is no longer what it was. It’s a mad house now. So congested and people drive like maniacs. So many accidents. I thought once they made it bigger it would reduce the accidents and the traffic. Apparently it’s made it worse. 😭

      I wish I had room. But we have so many trees that my property is mostly shaded. We have been cutting some of the crops back to allow the sun to let the grass grow.

    I got my #GoldDigger at Home Depot, they were selling her for $15 and she's become on of my favorites because of how low maintenance and long lasting the flowers are.

    • @naturenel
      @naturenel  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s awesome. Sometimes Home Depot will surprise you worth some good choices. In my area they actually are not that good when it comes to orchids. In Hawaii it’s the best. They have allot to choose from besides Moth Orchids and Dendrobiums like the ones around me.

    The plants that are around the pineapple are called almond bushes. I have several of them in my yard. The almond smell is to die for. The butterflies, bees , and i have a Hummingbird that come to them. Ive trained them into trees. They are about 10 to 15 ft tall. But you can keep them smaller and bush size

    • @naturenel
      @naturenel  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s exactly what it smells like. I couldn’t really pinpoint the fragrance. I kept thinking jasmine. I’m gonna get some for my yard. Love!!!!🤗

    Hi Nelson. I'm surprised to see a very familiar plant in your side of the world. I'm talking about that plant you called woodpecker tree. In the Philippines,we call it Katuray. They come in different colors nowadays. They're actually treated as vegetable here. The flowers are edible. We blanche the flowers,add sliced tomatoes and fish sauce to it and eat it like salad. We normally use the white form as it is the most common in the Philippines,it's the oldest variety. Recently,the colored forms appeared. They're just as edible as the white ones.

    • @naturenel
      @naturenel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow! That’s such cool bit of information. I have to tell Martin that. That salad sounds very delicious 😋

    Do the Maxillarias like to be in a bigger pot to expand into? Best medium? And light requirements? Norman’s stuck a little clump into some sphagnum, for the one I just bought really cheap, it looks a little sad, I’d like to repot.. It’s so fun to go to nurseries..me and my sis always say “the bad place” because they always make you spend money. Finding some new, unexpected thing blooming is always a fine discovery!

    • @naturenel
      @naturenel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I put them in a cone with Orchiata bark and charcoal. You can also use lava rock. I do water very well every day. You don’t want those bulbs getting wrinkled. That’s a sign it needs more watering. I wouldn’t say so much a “ bad place” as I would say “temples of temptation” Lol!

    • @johncspine2787
      @johncspine2787 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@naturenel my sis and I refer to any establishment that forces you to spend money uncontrollably as a “bad place,” often we will call each other and say “I…went to the bad place” and the other responds “how much did you get?”…
