- I took a road trip to Apopka,Florida to visit my friends at Krull-Smith Orchids to their yearly open house,and also Pam from Orchids In Bloom. She also had an orchid fair with several great vendors. They are one of the biggest orchid growers in Florida. There is a sea of orchids in every nursery hanger. Meet some of the greatest growers of orchids and aroids in this side of the globe. Kudos for .earning the proper pronuonciation of the 50th state. Shows respect for the residents. i lived there for nearly 20 years and always appreicated the effort by visitors.

I totally agree. I want that in my collection. I thought that the orchids underneath it were the same, but I later found out that they weren’t😞. Bredren has amazing selection of orchids. That dendrobium was really gorgeous. 💚

Orchid heaven for sure!! I think the Bulbo you got for Laz is awesome and I'm sure he loved it. Luckily this year my Catasetum Millennium Magic witchcraft is producing a bloom spike, missing Halloween but that's OK. I found a fragrant Phal at Home Depot the other week that smells like lemons, it was a lucky find. I also finally got a Vanda! I won it in an eBay auction, it's a Somsri Glory Blue. I was the only bidder so it wasn't much of an auction, but I'll take a win when I can get it. I'm looking forward to watching part 2.
Wow it sounds like you’ve been busy with orchid shopping. That’s a lucky find at Home Depot. Those hidden treasures are so awesome to find. You feel like you struck gold. You’re funny about the bidding on eBay. At least you didn’t have to increase your bidding. Lol! Lazaro did love his gift. I was afraid he already had that one. But he didn’t. He was very happy. 🤗
@@naturenel It was to celebrate defending my thesis and being essentially done with earning my Master's degree. eBay can be fun to look at from time to time since I don't have access to many orchid nurseries.

Hi Linda! You have no idea how overwhelming it is to walk in their nurseries. Your neck hurts from looking at all directions. It’s a sea of orchids. Their system is amazing. I dream I having a smaller version of their nursery hanger in my place. It’s just perfection.

Omg ,Krull Smith is awesome beautiful orchids. Pam’s nursery was awesome too. If I lived up there I’ve never leave those nursery’s would be there every week. Thanks for taking us along. Definitely visiting other orchid growers will be so much fun.
Hi Grisel. I agree 💯. If I lived there I would live in the nurseries. And I only showed 2 locations. Apopka has dozens of orchid nurseries all around. It’s such a charming city. Can’t wait to go back. 🤗

So many beautiful orchids! I got brave after your video from the last show and placed my first order with Krull Smith for my very first Cattleya, Blc Heavens Gate Crystelle. I saw it on your video and fell in love with the beautiful red flower. I've only have Phals so I'm a little nervous with this new baby. Thanks Nelson for showcasing so many different orchids at the shows and at the ranch.
That’s an amazing Cattleya. I got one last year and it’s doing beautiful. You will love it. Just don’t over water. They are very different than phals. I allow a little bit of a dry out before watering. I replanted mine in clay beads and it seems to be very happy in that medium.

Nope. I hang them. I do have 1 mini Vanda in a hanging container. No medium.
