Megumi Fushiguro is a god of shadows in the making who I think will rise up to the ranks of Gojo and Sukuna within the story of Jujutsu Kaisen. In this video I'll explain Megumi's current progress in doing this and theorize a bit where I think his power can go to take him to those heights. How far do you think Megumi's power will go?

My theory for how Megumi tames Mahoraga is that he will get help from Maki. Since she doesn't get detected by domains, there is a chance that she wouldn't be detected by Megumi's summoning ritual either, meaning that she can help defeat it without negating the technique. Soul Liberation might be able to bypass Mahoraga's adaptation and if not, Megumi could store the entire Zenin armory for Maki to go through. And how poetic would it be for Maki to be the one to complete the Zenin clan's signature technique while Megumi gets to fight alongside the second coming of Toji.

@@bernardharte8586 this is true but she still has the sentient soul splitter katana replica with Mai's soul in it (was used in the battle vs cursed spirit naoya) and that alone is definitely powerful enough to deal some serious blows to mahoraga's soul

Mahoraga is more akin to a deity and for his nine shikigami it will be a Japanese dragon while he’s eight one will be a slashing type shikigami with eight different slashing attacks which if you combine all of their total curse energy levels with the exception of mahoraga it will put megumi curse energy level at 16 fingers worth giving him the edge he needs to tame mahoraga. He needs the dragon type shikigami cause he needs a sort of maximum curse output and since jjk is inspired by Buddhism it will be a dragon.
I could see this happening too, good theory!
His full domain is gonna be a skeleton, because 1 in the domain you can see apart of a spine, 2 a Japanese folk tale of a skeleton spirit that does something I forgot

I didn't think of it until now but Mahoraga's adaptability wheel has the 9 settings for the 9 shikigami before it. Even if you do gather all the shikigami, you'd still need to hit it in the event that it can only adapt to 9 things at a time which is why no other 10 shadow technique has beaten him. Sukuna found Megumi interesting because he fights along with the shikigami, while past users of the technique hide behind them, meaning Sukuna believes that Megumi's fighting style is the key to taming all 10 shikigami.

Theory:
Megumi won't be able to tame Mahoraga mainly because I think it would take him few years to do so but before that Sukuna will steal his technique.
He will then tame Mahoraga and other shikigami to utilise full potential of ten shadow technique against his fight with Gojo

Great video, before now I didn't even realize megumi had a time limit on his summonings.
The snake fusing with Max elephant makes a lot of sense, since the first time Megumi summons the elephant it was quite small same size as megumi and then in Shibuya and against Reggie it was easily five times it's size.
For Megumi's remaining summons, I'm thinking a monkey and shark would be nice. A Jellyfish shikigami would be awesome since poison hard counters RCT abilities.
YOOO I forgot that poison counters RCT healing!! That would indeed be super useful for Megumi. A shark or a monkey would also be great choices for the remaining shikigami since monkeys are usually associated with martial arts and a shark would give him better movement in both water and inside his pool of shadows within the domain.
Megumi already has a poison type shikigami which was the snake that’s why he tried using it to restrain sukuna but he didn’t know sukuna is immune to all poison but on the bright side megumi can fuse the snake with the dragon shikigami making it able to also use poison based attacks like poison breath etc which will be more potent considering the heat composition of a dragon

@@blu3d3vil97 iirc in the Hakari vs Kashimo fight Kashimo states that it is a counter in most cases IF poison hits the brain but since Hakari’s RCT is automatic he kinda had a “workaround” of sorts since he didn’t need to “think” about activating it. Whereas normally if your brain was shot up with poison your mind would be too numb to think of activating RCT healing. Or at the very least I interpreted it that way, I could be wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think the 9 cogs on the wheel for Mahoraga actually symbolize the other 9 shikigami, which its obviously adapted to because every shadow user in the past would have attempted to use the shikigami to tame him, and thats part of the reason why its never been tamed by any shadow user before in the past. That also means the key to taming it for Megumi is either 1. perfect his Domain Expansion 2. Use means other than his Shikigami like divine weapons or something or 3. Get help from someone like Maki who doesnt use cursed energy and is just incredibly physically strong and able to masterfully wield powerful divine weapons, or possibly get the help of Gojo in the future.
You think the summoning are going to stick between summonings?
Also the bulbs most likely won’t represent the 9 other shikigami as it’s based on Yatsuka no Tsurugi (八塚剣) and the some of the other shikigami already other sacred treasures that they represent :(

BY Gege's description of Totality even if all of Shadows are killed including mahoraga, there can be maximum of 3-4 new shikigamis using totality. Probably Mahoraga is a whole different shikigami due to which it cant be used in Totality. so Mahoraga + 3 Totality shikigami is probably up there with strongest version.
Mahoraga instead of representing humans might represent something akin to an angel his wings and strange appearance coupled with his extermination blade leads me to believe he has some kind of angelic motif going on. So the giant skeleton monster could represent humans though it seems like a boring shikigami.
Ohh I’ve never thought of it that way that it could be an angel. It would be an odd one out since the other shikigami are “real” animals not yokai. And yeah I do agree that the skeleton would kinda be boring, but we shall see since Gege can even make rabbits exciting lol

I have a feeling that Tsumiki would be killed in the near future and this fuels megumi to become stronger and tame not just mahoraga but all the 10 Shikigamis. Just like maki's awakening after the death of Mai Zenin
And it would he even more cooler if megumi can use the abilities of all the shikigamis after taming all 10. Since no 10 Shadow user has used it at its Full Potential. Imagine megumi healing but not using reversed curse technique but by using the ability of mahoraga to preduce positive cursed energy to heal. And being able to stun an opponent by using the ability of Nue.
Edit: It would be cool to see megumi unleashed all 10 Shikigami and say " In Heaven And Earth I Alone Am The Honered One " and one of the shikigami's being a flame breathing Dragon capable of flight

I have reasons to believe this because we saw kenjaku taking full advantage of cursed spirit manipulation. He was able to use idle transfiguration and other cursed techniques of the captured cursed spirits.
So 8 believe its possible for a 10 Shadow Technique user to achieve this since its one of the sacred techniques passed down in the Zenin Family and is stated to rival even the 6 eues and limitless.
And if this is true the chances of megumi able to heal himself and remove toxins but not using actual reversed curse technique but being able to output positive energy by using mahoraga's technique
I think he’ll get a shikigami that can heal him. Also it would be cool if he could actually communicate with one like back and forth.

This is all interesting and good analysis, but I think it would be more thematically appropriate for not
Literally every beast (especially the early ones) to have been tamed through direct combat, perhaps there is something like challenges associated with the different shikigami. The rabbit escape for example would be where you have to catch the rabbit instead of killing it, or you have to be able to react to the frogs tongue and grab it, or something similar to that.
Interesting idea!! Different challenges for different shikigami would allow Megumi to essentially speed run his progress later in the story seeing as that Gege hinted at the Culling Games being the arc before the final arc.

Since ten shadows is based on real life hands shadow puppets (- Mahoraga). There's a good possibility the 8th and 9th shadow is also restricted/based on existing shadow puppets.
Edit: Basically if you can't make a shadow puppet work your hands then your prediction is probably a flop.
Agreed! Don’t forget that Mahoraga is based on a human, and people/human hand puppets also do exist, so it still falls in line with the hand shadow puppet play.

They say Megumi has the potential to be on par or even surpass Gojo, I don’t see it but that’s the fun part, Jujutsu has great writing and I bet his shadow manipulation has other OP skills in store for us than just Mahoraga because wile being OP AF he stills needs more varied and versatile skills to be on par with someone like Gojo who has some many hacks that they are just falling out out of his anus lol

Imagine if the 10th spirit really could only adapt 9 times per summon, this would make sense. It would mean the user of the technique would have to get all 9 other spirits first, then use the 9 spirits to get the 10th one to adapt to their 9 different killing methods, and having the user deliver the final blow to defeat it
I think to defeat Maharaga is to master the sure hit capability of his domain…how? By creating a Chimera that envelopes the whole domain. Like a sure hit domain inside his shadow garden.

Heads up. Shadows move at light speed also.
Vsauce has done a video on this but basically shadows don’t move until the object blocking the light (creating the shadow) moves or the light source changes position/strength. Thus the speed of a shadow is always limited by the object in front of it, while light rays on their own can travel. It’s not that shadows can’t hit light speed, it’s that it’s more so situational than consistent. Scientifically speaking of course, because the author can do whatever they want since it’s fiction lol

dude the mahoraga totality has got to be so ridiculous. as much as i love mahoraga's design and his overall gimmick, i wouldn't mind losing mahoraga to gojo if we get to see something even more insane than mahoragas base adaptation skill.

No, the ritual can be done as many times as you like until you tame it. And since Sukuna, an outside party joined the ritual, it was rendered null. Only after a shikigami is tamed can it never be summoned again if it gets destroyed.
