I like Emhyr as a character in Witcher 3. He’s honest and to the point. He knows he’s powerful and will tell you but not in an arrogant way. He knows Geralt will sass him, yet doesn’t get emotional about it.

She close enough to call him papa at the end of Blood&wine DLC
the emperor and geralt have a tense relationship on one hand he ended his curse and saved his daughter on the other hand geralt saved queen meve who later defeated the Nilfgaardians in the second invasion and became more of a father to ciri than him
emhyr knows very well it is only geralt who can control ciri. killing geralt = losing ciri. losing ciri = death to his empire. why? because of other species attacking. especially the elder elves.

Ive played through the witcher 3 twice, on my 3rd now. And I cannot remember this scene at all, shows how many different paths there are to take still.
I don’t usually hate on TV adaptations but yeah I can’t help but say that Netflix fucked up Nilfgaard and sorceresses for me, not because of race or anything but because of armor and clothing. Now that I saw how sorceresses dress in games I can’t help but say that they could have done better in dressing up the characters as they should be close to the story. And the Nilfgaardians I always see them as a HRE expy with Gothic armors and what not, so yeah I don’t really much care with race as long as the actor can portray them but at the very least they could have just dress them up as provided in both game and books.
Have you checked out the second season? The look of the costumes has skyrocketed. Of course the Nilfgaardians don't look like in the games, but they've got the black and gold plate armour aplenty. Generally the characters look much more like their various stations(royalty, nobility etc) than the average historical movie does. The first season they probably had a rather limited budget, as they had to see if it would work. Since it was a success, they got more money, which means the costuming department could go wild.

The problem with what you are saying is that he knows who Geralt is. If Geralt was the type of person who would do that, they wouldn't be talking as they were. Most of Emhyr's words are meant to tell Geralt that he should not cross him or he will have a dagger in the back in the future.

Emhyr, much like Tywin Lannister (ironically), wants people to remember his reputation for dealing with people who cross him (with Tywin it is the Reins of Castamere and with Emhyr it is his name, "The White Flame Dancing on the Barrows of his Enemies"). As for Geralt, I think he realizes it just isn't worth the trouble of crossing Emhyr except in regards to Ciri. One thing I think CD Projeckt Red could improve on in future games is just how much a pain in the ass a king or ruler could be for someone like Geralt. In the games it is one or two encounters and then you are face to face with the ruler, but what would actually transpire is Inns wouldn't lodge him, people wouldn't trade with him, and he would be actively hunted every hour of every day. Obviously the game is supposed to be fun, but I feel people don't get why Geralt doesn't just try to kill all these rulers sometimes because the consequences seem relatively insignificant given the gravity of the attacks.
I kinda understand her for being pissy with him now. She grew to love the Witcher, but because he moaned Yennefer’s name during sex was enough to really upset her. Then things really soured when he left Touscant without telling her.
Weird. I've finished the game a long time ago, but I don't recall ever getting this quest. But I do remember meeting Fringila on the boat. All the time wondered who she was and why was she on the boat with the rest of us, toward the end of the game. Lol

His wife's "tragic" death and his obsession with prophecy, revenge and power turned him into a cold blooded ruler. There was a point where he wanted to father Ciri's child even against her will. He wants and needs her to rule Nilfgaard. Geralt took Ciri as a child surprise, trained her as a witcher and loves her as his own child. She has become emotionally envolved with Geralt and admires him, to the point of stealing some personality traits from him. Because of him, she would not want such power... He's in Emhyr's way.
Charles Dance is too old to play Emyr. In the Netflix series he should be in his late 30's or early 40's but Dance is, at the time of this comment, 75.

I am not totally in favour of such a casting but the actor did a very good job. One of the best performance in the show. But so many people have to complain about anything. Its not entirely logic i give you that but so were plenty of other shows..just try to enjoy the performance

She never was. Netflix decided to change her race, along with adding more people of other races instead of the mainly European characters the books and games are.
Yeah netflix completely bombed on most of the casting. I think the only characters they did a good job on are Geralt and Jaskier/Dandelion in my opinion.

@@JG-sp2dn idk, the only one that annoyed me was triss tbh. The rest were meh, they got the job done. Didn't really care about fringilla. Yenefer's decent, I don't know why everyone's complaining. I think the side characters casting was epic, foltest and the "lioness of Cintra" were extremely well casted. The series as a whole's excellent.
