Lmao it took me a second to realize they’re in the fuckin jungle 😂
Lmao Lex is sitting there about to pass out from heat exhaustion just sweating profusely wearing his signature suit 😂
@@connorriley7511 😭😭😂
The suit never dies with lex
why would it?
Lex is waiting on the next ‘Men in Black’ movie audition.
Look like he about to die in that suit
Sweating his balls off 😂
Lex can put on regular clothes probably and go around unrecognized lol
I felt like lex was slightly delirious and on the verge of passing out through this whole interview lol
Dude, nobody is more interesting to listen to than Paul Rosolie at the moment in my opinion. These clips are awesome.
Love hearing about the Amazon and the bits he knows of the uncontactef
He’s got quite the nose for history
@@TheLucastimm Also a charming and genuine guy it seems.
@@DannyJuke I was thinking just the opposite. He's very much a humble-bragger, but he's subtle about it. Like the way he calls himself 'me I'm such a softie', then goes on about how he wrestles anaconda and alligators. He does this so often I end up rolling my eyes at the things he says and wonder if anyone is fooled by his persona.
He's constantly begging for "You're so badass" compliments. "I'm not wearing any shoes right now.." "Who's the greatest explorer of all time? Well, this guy who explored the amazon".
"Those world class explorers didn't go out with locals" humble brag-- "Those guys didn't know what they doing, but ***I*** do because I went with JJ" baiting the Lex feedback "Well I see that you and JJ are able to tune into the jungle and see it as a provider, not a destroyer" (roll my eyes).
He's the guy that gets off on other people bragging about him and serves them softballs for bragging. This is the same dumbnut who put on the 'let anaconda eat me' click-bait special. He's all show.
That guy JJ seems unreal. It would be amazing a podcast whith him and Paul together. Make it happen Lex, please!
Manz in the Jungle in a SUIT! lol RATINGS MATE! MAXIMUM RATINGS!
💯
Sir Richard Francis Burton deserves at least an Honorable Mention, homeboy took a spear to the face, in one cheek out the other, played dead till the attackers left, then swam out to the ship offshore (still with spear in face), also Mecca, sought out source of the Nile, amongst others, hardcore linguist, and a master swordsman, with one seriously badass mustache.
He discovered nothing just rediscovered and of course he and the British tried to take credit like everything else they did
To sum up, in all the podcasts I've watched, you look wonderful. The contrast in your appearance with the suit, tie, and unshaven looks good on you. You went through a great experience of life together with your friend Paul Rosolia. Well done.
Never seen Lex not being clean shaven 0_o
Right
Magellan without a doubt! The guy had no maps nothing and he relied on Eratosthenes calculation of the earth's circumference which might have been really inaccurate - no one knew for sure. He ventured into the great unknown!
"Dude, f*ck the jungle" that's funny. I can't even do Florida 😂.
We need more guys like the two of you in this world! Thanks for a fun excerpt.
Paul is such a fabulous story teller
Lex always seems like he is slowly falling asleep while asking questions and making comments. This clip even more so
He's wearing a suit in the middle of the Amazon Jungle. He's probably half-delirious from the heat and exhaustion.
Lex's mic looking like a face in firelight on the bottom will haunt my dreams forever
This is the first time every question is wonderfully put and explained. As well as the responses, those too were wonderfully answered. It's inspiring are there tours to the Amazon?
man i wish i could tell stories like that guy! so cool!
Lex Fridman's commitment to thoughtful and engaging discussions, even in challenging environments like the jungle, shows his dedication to bringing important conversations to a wider audience. It's great to see such commitment to meaningful dialogue.
Freaking fascinating Lex way to live! Spectacular!
The greatest explorer by distance travelled is Tom Thompson (1770 1857) who travelled some 90k kilometers and who mapped The Canadian west covering 1/6 the area of North America
David Thompson
Distance travelled doesn’t equate to greatest explorer…
"Behind the wheel the mileage clicking west, I think upon Mckenzie, David Thompson and the rest. Who cracked the mountain ramparts and did show a path for me..."
Look up ibn battuta, that guy travelled 120,000 km through the world and went through much interesting locations that west canada...
I don’t think there’s a greatest ever. There are numerous amazing explorers throughout history. If you’re going straight off of distance, Polynesian navigators need to be in the conversation….
Nice sun tan!
Sir Richard Francis Burton gets my vote. Dude’s life was so nuts that I don’t even think I ultimately envy him. He’s an enigma to me too, because at first I wrote him off as a psycho/sociopathic, malcontented, blue blood. An actual one, because of THAT ONE INCIDENT in his history, IYKYK… *Shivers* But, then I thought about it further… He rolled solo on his adventures to foreign lands, he couldn’t have possibly spoken the language of most of those he came in contact with, and as an outsider caveman-brain socializing would’ve only kept him alive up to a point. So, the guy was just insanely skilled at impressing/entertaining anyone he came into contact with. And, he had to have known how to connect with some of these peoples’ leaders in an emotional way as well to remain alive so long. Anyways, no other man’s memoirs, biographies about him written by others, etc. have ever left me more astonished than his.
Mungo Park - Scottish dude who basically (as I understand it) walked into the depths of Africa and risked life and limb to document what was there. Didn’t live too long but made some waves.
Joshua Slocum - his “Sailing Alone Around the World” is a great read, amazing that he took up the sea late in life, just said fuck it, gonna go sail around the world … and he did 😛👍
Slocum is one of the most unfortunate last names I’ve ever heard
@@Cloudy_Jonesit’s actually a great name.. quickcum would be unfortunate
@@Cloudy_Jones lols … well, better than Fastcum i guess? Great read at any rate, check it out!
Less than 400 people have solo sailed around the world
Thousands have climbed everest
God I love this and I love lex Fridman.
Beautiful conversation.
Greatness
Ibn batuta of morroco in 13th century was one of the greatest explorer , exploring 44 countries in 30 years he saw mongol Empire, islamic Empire, indian Empire etc
11:25 ... black legend and you keep spreading it.
What about Ibn Battuta? He was exploring Africa, Asia and Europe as well as the Middle East.
The amazon is like chicago man, damn
haven’t watched episode yet but i clicked on this and i was wondering, why does Lex look like he’s sweating a little bit?😅 then I saw some bugs flying around and it all came together in my brain and I was like ohhhhhhh cool he did the episode with this guy outside at night in the jungle?! Hellzzz to the yah!
I had expected it to be Richard Burton.
Amazing episode absolutely amazing ❤
The suit made me laugh my balls off but Lex disappointed you never had a shave m8 , scruffy boy 😂
As a surveyor, i never leave the truck without that machete
The audio is so good I'm calling bullshit.
I think watched a movie on dude. I was dead. "He told his partner we gonna be okay"... they put an apple in homie mouth and cut to the credits lmao
Protip: What is not visible to the camera is that Lex is wearing shorts and has hiking shoes on.
Belin, Cristoforo Colombo! ✊
I didn't know Dom Mazzetti moved to the jungle
Can you bring me to the jungle next?
I want to go too
Nice
@LexClips Please read the Lost city of Z to know more about Percy Fawcett
Who is JJ?
Lex does not know about machetes aka cutlasses? Even in Toronto I got mine. 😆
What’s with the candles
What’s it to you?
@@MrThatnativeguy what are you with?
yo mama
Most likely Ernest Shakleton, and more so Tom Cream, Antartic Explorers were some of the Bravest..
Why does homeboy in the thumbnail look so much like Ari Shaffir???
Sir Francis Drake
Hahah I’m Percy’s doppelgänger
They really in someone backyard 😂
Man's wearing a black tie suit in a jungle... ❤
Apparently, for the jungle, Kukri is alot better than machete.
Strangler Figs are a keystone subgenera, not species - All Strangle Figs are in Ficus subgenus Urostigma.
I looooove how oily and tab Lex looks!!!! 😅😅😅😅❤❤❤
I’d argue it was Peter Freuchen but he was another guy out in the cold
One thing for sure. That suit is killing Lex in that environment.
Who else thought that thumbnail was Ari Schaffer
Hey, just for fun, let’s assume Lex did the whole trip in a suit
Lex in the jungle
in his men in black suit - hahaha
Boiling with the heat and humidity
Percy fawcett
This podcast is a Lasting memory
Alexander Mackenzie
Pretty sure that is Ari Shaffir
Watch Burden of Dreams..
Then you’ll know how bad the jungle can be
Rain sleet or snow lex suit won’t go
I strongly disagree with the premise
He’s got a strong nose for history
Yea these two definitely fucked out there in the Amazon
Ibn Battuta my Goat traveler/explorer
Bet 50 Lex is wearing shorts under the table
Lex is a true babe in the woods
Coyote Peterson is the Mormon version of Paul Rosolie!
U know lex hot af wearing that suit.
Ari shaffir??
“The horror”
You need to get out of that jungle else these creatures will devour you while you were asleep.
No need to be racist bro, it's not cool
👃
Ari Shaffir
Christopher Columbus is the greatest. 😂
What about the Indians in the usa… 🇺🇸how they were almost erased …from the earth
lex oily face
Ehhh Ferdinand Magellan circumnavigated the globe and died in the process his ship was rotting from the voyage, discovered numerous places etc..anyone else is a nobody compared to him
I wouldn't go that far, Leif Ericsson and Percy Fawcett were both great explorers
That’s what America had you read in a schoolbook lol
@@TheNotorious54 you referring to me or the other guy? Cause I didn't learn about Leif Ericsson or Percy Fawcett in school.
@@tyrandolph5465 other guy.
@@TheNotorious54 gotcha
