After the opponents have already opened the bidding, how can we enter the auction without a 5-card major? Renowned bridge teacher Jack Stocken teaches us about what a takeout double tells partner about our hand.
In this fantastic hand, after his partner doubles, we must decide what to bid. Can you see why we should feel comfortable jumping straight to game?

So, what would a jump to 3S mean? Slam invite?
We play it a bit simpler, we anwer with a five card suit just as if the doubler had bid 1S: 1S = 0-5 points, 2S=6-9 points, 3S=10-12 points, 4S=13-15 points. If more points we can bid the opponent's suit.

Playing H with to the K, and then back towards the J wins against Qx in E. Bidding 2D over X followed by 4S allows you to get to slam when Partner has a better hand with better shape. Example: Qxxx AKQxx, x Axx
