    Declarer draws trumps about 60% of the time but would you draw trumps in this hand when they are so poor? The fate of this contract is in your hands.
    Maryellen joins Jack with this tricky hand. What would you do missing all of the trump honours?

    3 NT will fail only if the hearts are 5-0 and in the opening leader's hand. With hearts being 3-2;
    NT will take 10 tricks.
    The club finesse is mandatory; otherwise the J will fall under the Q.

    Well... when I got this hand as South, East was VOID in hearts and West had the top 5 of Trumps... always down 2...

    Wow. As a beginner, I definitely would not have drawn trump here. My main thought was: our trumps are weak so the only way we win with them is by cross ruffing. Now it seems obvious that we would be ruffing cards that are already winners, so that strategy wastes our trump when we could get the trump out of the opponents hands and guarantee our side suit tricks. Excellent lesson!

      The counterpoint to thst line of thinking is "all my winners are in the side suits, I need to stop them from ruffing my winners"

    Good reason to play standard and open 1NT.

    I am not sure the finesse is 50%. After East plays the 7c, he has 7 remaining unseen cards while West has 8. Hence West is more likely to hold the missing honor. Good hand!

    I'm new to bridge but why not bid 3NT. There is an eight card fit in hearts but not strong from North. If I was playing North I wouldn't jump bid, but then again I'm a novice.

    I always play every hand when I see every hand sometimes I believe bridge is a better game

    If I can see all hands some times I can see all hands so playing a hand is easygoing

    Found this very useful. I will remember this in future. However I would have bid 3hearts so my partner could choose between no trumps and hearts.

      Just realised 3 hearts would be a limit bid shoeing 10-12 points

      I am not familiar with echo system in the video, but jump major raise is usually a preempt bid which is weak.

      If hearts are 4-1; 4 H will go down, while 3 NT will make
