The GOAT!!! So deeply missed my Elvis !!! A day no pass without listening to you..And I will forver
I love this song sung live. The richness of his voice shakes me up every time. I can't believe 50 years have passed. If he sounded that good then imagine how good he would sound with today's equipment and technology. Blows my mind. Love your reviews.
Thank you for reacting to this very beautiful song. Elvis was so nervous about being accepted after not performing live for about 9 years( making movies) that this special almost didn't happen. I am so thankful he found the courage to step out on that stage to find out if the audience would want to see him.....
he found out that he was missed very much. Bravo Elvis!!!
Thank you, Drew for your reaction to The G.O.A.T. God bless you and your family Rip Elvis, Lisa Marie, you're the greatest of all time.☝👍✌⭐👑🔥🇵🇷🇺🇲💐🌹🕺🎸🎤🥁🎧🎼❤🙏
Elvis can sing you any type song we like❤Elvis. Thank you!!!
Such a beautiful and tranquil song. Elvis did a wonderful song. ❤
Listening to this Elvis sing this like one of those beautiful deep dreamy sleeps where you feel warm and in heaven. His voice just hits all the feel good receptors in my mind, thanks for posting this.
This is my go to song when I need to reflect on my marriage of 58 yrs. It brings me to a different place. On our 21 st wedding anniversary we danced at our daughter’s wedding. Brings back beautiful memories. Thank you for reacting to Elvis. He left us such a huge legacy. It is hard to pick one favorite song. Check out Just Pretend.
I love his voice ❤
Elvis is XMas is Peace and Love❤
Steve Binder, the producer of the special told really interesting and funny things in his interviews. Short and long ones , up to an hour.
Gates of graceland ~30 min
Thanks for keeping up with Elvis!
Yes the Steve Binder documentary is fantastic. It gives you a behind the scenes look at the special. With interviews of people that were there. It’s called “Reinventing Elvis: The 68 Comeback”
The making of the 68 Comeback Special is spectacular. I learned so much. Very well made and Baz had a hand in there too.
Baz so so many important facts wrong, mainly because he used Priscilla as a source. She has spent fifty years rewriting history. For instance, she cheated on Elvis first just 6 weeks after giving birth ( she said in her book). She asked for the divorce and said she did not love him..this after a year of part time living with Mike Stone. She flaunted her illicit affair across the world, humiliating Elvis She became a home wrecker, breaking up Mike's marriage to a pregnant wife She traded sex to Curry Grant at age fourteen to meet Elvis. Her parents pressured Elvis to marry her.She was two months from eighteen when she moved into Elvis' father Vernon's house. They married when she was 22.His mom Gladys was very sweet and not a drinker.Si many facts are wrong in Baz movie because he wrongly believed her Elvis and their daughter loved Priscilla so much that they left her out of their wills.Be careful what you read anf see.You may buy into humongous lies because as Elvis said about Priscilla, she is a manipulative diva.True Elvis fans who lived while E was alive know the truth
Elvis 1968 Comeback Special is available on DVD. The show as a whole is great.. So is the Aloha Special. Both are good reasons to buy a cheap DVD player
I was only 8 years old when Elvis did this up close and personal performance of the world of Elvis, I totally respect your opinion on the ELVIS songs, in my opinion I just Love this kind of song that only Elvis can convey in his own way , And every girl there just of course was in awe n, I keep asking so many reactors to listen to Elvis singing Loving Arms, it's just pictures but he never let's you down, to me It is right up the top with Just Pretend and any Gospel music he sang, as well as Make The World Go Away, I listen to that song like now when you just want to get through the hell and stress you are feeling,, I apologize it you have reacted to the song before , just dealing with so much in life and the song takes me away from the world for a little bit. Thank you for the great reaction and please stay on the ELVIS journey.. TCB, 1935
You mentioned that Mac Davis was one of the writers of this song. Mac was also a great singer of that era that you should check out and react to!
“Baby Don’t Get Hooked on Me” and “You’re My Bestest Friend “ are two of his most popular. He passed in 2020 after heart surgery.
Love this man ❤
Mac Davis, co-writer -- also wrote "In The Ghetto." The Making of the 68 Comeback Special is a pretty new documentary, currently on a streaming network. As for the performance, imagine any of today's artists sitting in that intimate setting. The only thing that surprised me is that the audience controlled themselves so well. Gawking, yes, no screaming on this song, and nobody reached for him. Don't know if I could have stopped myself.
There definitely is a documentary done by Steve Binder about the making of the comeback special. I think you would find it fascinating
💙❤️💯 one of my favorites
Elvis always the best
❤❤❤❤❤
I think the sound makes you feel like home. Comfortable, familiar, and peaceful.
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC REACTION!! 💯
Elvis has a couple Christmas albums.
4:34 I have a DVD set that is the complete 68 Special and another DVD with it that has outtakes and sessions which are fun to watch while they were making the Special. Kodak used this song for its commercials for years. Memories created with photos. It was perfect together. 😊🎸🕺🏻🕺🏻🎸❤
Great reaction! Scribe just now because of Elvis 😊
Reinventing Elvis with Steve Binder is such a good documentary about the making of this show back in ‘68, it’s well worth a watch 💙
I appreciate this MMB, not many reactions to this song, I always say Elvis puts passion into every note. He said one time after he became famous, he always tried to improve with every album. He was executive producer of all his music and often helped arrange it. His rehearsals are a hoot, so much fun he was a great joker, and loved messing with his bank. Watch "Elvis Presley in the Studio 1970" He had a great perfect pitch and a instinctive feeling especially for gospel. Thanks so much for my Elvis fix.. Fan since 1956. Be Blessed..............Mary
There was no comeback. He hadn't been anywhere. I was called the Singer Special.
I love this song but am curious about the crutches behind you?
There is a new book. "68 Comeback The Story behind the special" By Steve Binder and Forward by Baz Luhrmann.
It was really called the Singer Special.
NBC Special Dec 3,1968 most watched TV show of 1968.

Eight hours into a recording session that started at 6 p. m. on May 19th, 1971, in Nashville, Elvis is sitting alone at the piano at 2 o'clock in the morning singing one of his favorites: Ivory Joe Hunter's "It's Still Here". He's been playing this for years at home planning to record it Sometime. This night, and understanding the magic of the moment, producer Felton Jarvis turns on the tape machine...

You should react to the documentary here on TH-cam called Elvis, 200 Cadillacs. You’ll love it.
Elvis, apparently, was much better looking in the flesh than he already was on screen and in photos. Hard to believe. So many women and (heterosexual) men openly said he was the most beautiful human being they'd ever seen. Also that he was one of the nicest people one could imagine. Just watch these clips of various celebrities talking about Elvis: th-cam.com/video/1dOfpXg6on0/w-d-xo.html various people about Elvis Goldie Hawn 8:33, th-cam.com/video/aznpMRCvK6s/w-d-xo.html BB King, th-cam.com/video/oE2CrArkatY/w-d-xo.html Nancy Sinatra (Frank Sinatra's daughter), th-cam.com/video/2jY-sS6rFDc/w-d-xo.html Kurt Russell (who acted opposite Elvis age 10 and who also played Elvis in a movie), th-cam.com/video/1FhGY_sVsfM/w-d-xo.html kurt russell, th-cam.com/video/-69L_0f2en4/w-d-xo.html Jerry Reed (who wrote and played guitar on Guitar Man and who starred in many Burt Reynolds movies), th-cam.com/video/mzuTA5ES9fA/w-d-xo.html walter matthau richard egan jerry lieber jerry schilling (Walter Matthau played opposite Elvis in King Creole, Richard Egan played opposite Elvis in Love Me Tender), th-cam.com/video/qN6dBTlT3HA/w-d-xo.html Ed Ashner (played opposite Elvis in Kid Galahad and Change of Habit), th-cam.com/video/hWFA29tOul4/w-d-xo.html Harry Morgan (starred with Elvis in Frankie & Johnny), th-cam.com/video/ywsuK3sRtLI/w-d-xo.html Mac Davis (singer songwriter who wrote In the Ghetto), th-cam.com/video/ASofKyyYTlI/w-d-xo.html Joe Namath (veteran football player), th-cam.com/video/N-KDZ7E3S7A/w-d-xo.html Bruno Kirby (actor and fan).
It's crazy to think that Elvis has been dead longer than he has lived, yet his fandom is still growing. Passed away at 42 and now gone for 47 years. The fun part of Elvis was his smirk. That wasn't because he was full of himself, but because he remained baffled to some degree that people were going so crazy/hysterical over him. In the 1968 Singer (later dubbed Comeback) Special there's a moment when he's delivering a scripted line and Charlie Hodge interrupts him to pick a piece of tissue off his cheek. Elvis had just wiped the sweat off his face with a tissue a girl in the audience gave him and a little piece got stuck on his face without him being aware of it. Charlie got the piece of tissue off of Elvis' cheek and gave it to a girl in the audience who then, seriously, proceeded to PUT IT IN HER PURSE!!!! Elvis saw it and was both amused and embarrassed and said "Never ceases to amaze me, boy, I tell ya." while shaking his head in embarrassed disbelief.

What’s up with the jumpy/jittery screen?
I think there is a documentary.
When you hear him sing like this in the same show he does One Night. Absolutely wild hard rock in comparison to this.
Try IF I CAN DREAM...
True story..elvis was terrified to sing Live for this special. He had done movies only FOR YEARS because they made money. He hated them. Right before he was to go on stage for the 68 comeback special he wanted to back out.
Aren't we glad he didn't.
Yes what up with that?😂
