I had to laugh when you said the kids didn't know how to react or what exactly they were reacting to. I'm an old lady now and Elvis still gets me every single time. He has a genuineness about him. I guess charisma, but something that pulls you in and leaves you wanting more. I love this video. Yes, you are right that an entertainer learns what the audience wants and incorporates that in their performances. But I think Elvis was born to be an entertainer, that his gifts were so second nature to him. Nothing ever seems contrived but totally natural. Can't tell you how much I love your reactions.
Thank you for this video, channel and reaction/comment, yet again the best I have seen on any Elvis performance. You sir are a gift to all of us and with you we get to re live the magic of this amazing man Elvis Presley. Your comments are informative and intelligent, and I also particularly enjoy the comments from the other fans on this channel. Thank you to all. Elvis, still keeps giving 47 after his passing. Incredible.
There he is....bigger than life even back then...the teenagers were wild for him and so many adults hated him. My parents fobid me to watch him on tv or buy his records. I saved up my allowance and bought his records anyway....I would play his music in my room in the middle of the night sitting on the floor with the volume very low so no one could hear it. As long as I can remember I have loved his music . Thank you again for your brilliant observations...I always look forward to listening to your reactions .🌻

Exactly. THE YOUTH DEMOGRAPHIC made Elvis. Every race and religion of YOUNG PEOPLE. That's what made Elvis different from ALL THE REST. Most everyone else sang to A UNIQUE RACE OF PEOPLE WITH a SINGLE genre of music. Elvis Presley was AN ORIGINAL who changed ALL OF THAT.
He was such a natural singer and performer and the new medium of television helped him go 'viral' as we'd say today. It was the genesis of all the four piece bands that followed too. It's so difficult to put yourself back in that time and realise how revolutionary Elvis was. Spot on reaction as usual!
Did you know that very few bands used drums when Elvis started? Even when they did, they didn’t have them visible on stage. But there’s DJ. Elvis was the first to feature the drums as an integral. part of the band.
Elvis was the first person to have his face on a t-shirt (say what you will about the Col. The man knew how to market and brand his clients) it was this year 1956
Hi Mike, Elvis developed his strong character early in life. 1956 was Elvis’ break out year and after a gruelling 2 years on the road, no one would have blamed him for taking every advantage. But not so, Elvis was too ethical even so early in his career. Elvis' sixth and final 'Stage Show' appearance was on March 24, 1956. That night Carl Perkins was to have been on the opposing 'Perry Como Show'. However, Carl had been badly hurt in an automobile accident on the way to New York. That night on 'Stage Show', Elvis sang 'Heartbreak Hotel' and out of respect for his friend Carl, Elvis refused to sing Perkins' 'Blue Suede Shoes' as previously planned and instead sang 'Money Honey'.
I think you said you put it on the playlist but I am really begging for how great thou art live Rapid City 1977. It was by far beyond the brilliant performance he has ever did in gospel. you get this feeling and you can’t help it feel it that he almost knew that his time was short. Simply brilliant.
What must have he been thinking being so young and thrown into this fame. Whitney Houston once said “ success is wonderful, it’s the fame that kills you”. Her mom was a background singer for Elvis later on and she loved working with him. She went through his passing so young and then she had to go through it again with her daughter. I’m not sure anyone can handle that type of iconic fame, especially if You were the first. Never be another. God really broke that mold after. Elvis. Wonderful reaction Mike. You’re so authentic. 🥹❤️❤️🎸🕺🏻🎸🕺🏻🎤❤️❤️
Elvis is 21 years old in this video. Such a beautiful man and most of Americans were just beginning to buy televisions. He has a baritone voice that could sing in a tenor range as well. What a phenomenal performance. I love it!!
I was 12 years old watching him, my parents didn't want me to watch him. Everything he did was electric, and considered raw and overtly sexy. But you know it wasn't only that he could be so humble and shy, he drew you in as his x wife said, "he made you love him. Probably the most generous humanitarian in entertainment. See " Elvis Presley King if Kindness". Thanks you do great reactions.
Music just flowed through his body and the way he used his voice was just genius - Elvis was truly a master performer. Another great reaction and analysis, thank you!
Remember it like it was yesterday, seeing it on TV & playing the 45's. If you grew up in those conventional '50's, it's understandable why he was seen in such a negative light at that time. Sent some suggestions since the links sometimes cause comments to be deleted. Thanks for this.
Thanks for another great Elvis reaction. For the 1968 Comeback Special, Elvis really rocked out to Heartbreak Hotel & to several of his other iconic early songs. Hopefully, you'll get a chance to check out some of them too.
Mike, I have watched so many reviews on Elvis, many of which are very good. I am not even hesitating to say that this review stands head and shoulders above all other reviews. It is quite simply brilliant. You capture the essence and the importance of the performance and of course of the song whilst adding your own take on it. Thank you Mike. Keep the Elvis reviews coming.

That makes me really happy Libby. Thank you!
"genesis" is the right word to describe this beginning of Elvis and what he created! Excellent reaction. 👍👏
RCA did not want Elvis to record this, but he felt it would be a hit and it was...

This vocal is genius. Pure brilliance. Maybe his greatest performance.

It just doesn't matter what year it is , Elvis is just so mesmerizing ...
Elvis was revolutionary.
Literalmente enloquecieron todas ahí y nació el 👑😏🫦
More charisma allowed a human being ❤
I was 11, watching Elvis on our tv, and falling madly in love. Had never seen anything like him. Still in love!❤

For some of the best range of early Elvis on professional television, do check out Ready Teddy and Love Me from Ed Sullivan Show.
Was some definite Fanny flutters in that audience 😂😜
Love, love your Elvis reactions. Thank you so much

I believe it was Henry pleasant's (Elvis fan's correct if I am wrong) described elvis as a lyrical baritone and the most unusual voice he has heard..

This is y John Lennon stated before Elvis there was nothing, this track Heartbreak Hotel in my opinion probably the greatest rock track ever recorded
Lennon joined in with Paul crtizie Elvis I read BT it

Wow, that's big praise, thank you!
Great reaction. I had a hard time hearing the Elvis video. Your voice volume was louder and easy to hear.
If you look at his guitar strap, there are 2 ribbons, one is his mother Gladys's hair ribbon, the other is his girlfriend's at the time, June Juanico.
