60 new homes a great move for Kaikohe

The final stage of Te Kohekohe community housing development has opened in Kaikohe offering a total of 60 units to those in need of safe, warm, affordable housing. New tenants Robbie and Josie were “overwhelmed” at the opportunity to move into a new two-bedroom home, after struggling to find housing with their young children. The housing development has opened over several stages with construction managed by the council’s commercial arm, Far North Holdings Ltd, along with local health and housing provider, Te Hau Ora o Ngāpuhi.
