This video is excellent at explaining it in more detail. I always had trouble with videos that didn't explain how to calculate the differences between the time zones.
Sir, I have a doubt in one of these example that you had elaborated, it was the time difference of the first sum where I am perplexed in finding time difference I tried to follow what you explained in video, I tried to minus larger number (+9) to smaller number (-6) I got 3 hours, however in your video shows it is 15 hours by adding 9 to 6. So I hope you look into the issue and help me to acknowledge where did I go wrong in this sum.
its the integers rule, minus = copy the first number, change the operation, and reciprocal the symbol of the last number (the opposite symbol) e.g. -14 - 14 = -14 + -14 = -28 in this case, +9 - (-6) = +9 + (+6) = +15
This is a great video and explained very well, with solid steps and examples given. But, near 4min the example involving Los Angeles incorrectly listed the timezone as -9 instead of -8. Sorry for the nitpick, just trying to help anyone confused. There is a 3 hour difference from East coast to West coast.
Hi, if each location are on opposite sides of the Greenwich Meridian, adding how far each is away from "zero" is equivalent to calculating the difference. For example, imagine two location A and B. A is in timezone -5, and B is in timezone +3, A is 5 away from zero, and B is 3 away from zero, and if we "add" 5 and 3 we get the 8 hour time difference. Of course you could explicitly perform the difference calculation -->> 3 - (-5) = 8 as well.

It’s 2 different poles so you + ig?
For me sir for easy understanding count from +9 going to -6 total 15hrs.
thank you man its been a long time I learned this but the fact that its not compulsory on my school that's why i didn't bother to learn it seriously

How on earth u add if u calculate the difference
