Thank you for these videos. I am disabled and not able to do our shopping,so my husband has to do it for our family. These videos help us plan his trips,so he knows what stores have the best prices. That way he doesn't have to spend as much time in the stores. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your schedule to make these for us ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I think you do amazingly well to feed each member of your family for less than 125 per month, and I thoroughly enjoy your shopping hauls. It’s clear from the purchases you make that everyone eats largely fresh, homemade and highly nutritious foods, rather than living on the processed stuff that I see so many people choosing when I watch other US haul vlogs, and I’d love to see more detailed cooking videos if you and / or Sarah were happy to make them - I’m sure they’d inspire lots of people.

My years in college and about 10 years after school I rigidly shopped like you do. Money was very short. I'd make a rough menu and things I was out or low on. Then I got the sale flyers. Occasionally, my menu list would under go total revision! I would drive a circuit of the three stores I used. I carefully followed and reconciled my budget. One thing, every shopping day, I'd buy a pantry item for emergencies. The skills I developed have helped me my entire life.

I have noticed that since the nasty virus of 2019 the price of food and household products have either stayed high or fluctuated. My fortnightly shop has increased by an average of £47 since then. It is a worrying time with the electricity and gas prices increasing quite steeply too. Have a blessed week everyone ❤️🕯️🙏

Yes. I doubt that the increased prices are due to Covid and supply chain issues three plus years later. The big companies are making big profits.

Such a sad time. The corporations and their boards have learned that people will pay more to have what they want. But a high percentage cannot afford it and end up in more debt. I have learned to shop all five grocery stores in our community and buy ONLY items on sale. It has brought my food budget DOWN by forty to 60 dollars each trip. The other day I saved 42 dollars and spent 21.96. Try it! Your family might be eating better on less money! 😅

    • @suz1017
      @suz1017 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

I'm glad I was taught young how to eat healthily enough within my budget and how important it was to plan meals, bulk cook and freeze single portion meals, grow my own vegetables and herbs, etc. For the past 20+ years, I have paid my bills one month ahead after clearing my student debts and vowing never to get into debt again. I worked 100+ hours some weeks to clear it and still exist and it was to the detriment of my health. I am now disabled, have extra needs to meet and watching my savings go down instead of up year by year. Our government never seem to come good on their promises and I don't see it getting better any time soon unfortunately.

If you use tomato paste instead of sauce, it is cheaper. Just put a lot of water in it. If you have too much and you need to use it up beforenit expires, make tomato juice out it by adding salt and , pepper and water. Good job.

I usually hit up the clearance food 1st, loss leaders 2nd, and my shopping list 3rd. I keep a notebook to jot down meal plan ideas from these items. I get so tickled when I score a great buy. So far this month I spent about $35 which I included $22 in garden plants under my food budget. My budget is $200 a month for hubby and I. We are working on cleaning out the freezer for our upcoming garden freezing.

I have found the only dishwashing liquid that works is cascade pods. I buy the platinum. It saves me as I use it one time it dissolves. I bought several other cheaper brands and they do not dissolve and sit as a lump in my dishwasher or don’t clean.

On the dishwasher tabs, we use them but don’t close the little door on the detergent and it works better. If I have a really high item in the bottom then I stick the tab on the top shelf and I no longer have to clean up the undisolved tab yuck. I do the same thing now with the gel. I put it in the bin in the dishwasher and don’t shut it just to make sure everything comes clean. Good luck!! Cleaning again is no fun.

Great hauls! I’m the same with going into walmart. So I use their free pick up service. I place order via online app the day before, select pick up time, pay and go! Over time the online app has my favorite items and I can also look up past orders and select from there. I can do shopping in about 15-20 min online. Wonderful service. I do go in to select meats but it is s faster in/out. Take care! ❤

I do buy shelf stable milk at Dollar Tree for my cooking needs. Dollar Tree is no longer the cheapest for all things. Walmart has beat out on several items every week. Kroger is hit or miss according to coupons. Aldi vs Walmart has to be compared every week. I spend 2 hours every Wednesday locating the deals according our needs and stock up.

Didn't you have one month, when you did not go shoppimg at once? You could easily do that again. What I mean by that, is: with your abilities in tactical shopping and organizing your household, you can leave out, one week of shopping every month, if YOU so wish. There will always be sales and so messing one, will not hurt you. You could also reduce your sales-shopping to those items, you really are in need for. For example: you might not absolutely buy more potatoes for Rotation, but you should not simple on the chocolate for cleaning-day.😂 I have found, and aI am sure, so did you, that sales rotate as well, as items in your pantry. You have the added advantage, that things begin to be harvestable in your gardens, so there are a lot of foods, you do not have to buy.
Also: you and your family are very versatile and inventive in your cooking, so you can easily cook around an item not re-stocked. Actually, I believe, that you all hav3 great fun in trying out Nnew things. Maybe that could be a Video or a personal challenge or both, to take one month, in the primary harvesting-season and do only two shopping-trips. One monthly stock-up and one Azure-haul. And the other two weeks, you live only from what your homestead offers. Could be a game for the younger kids, to construct a mealplan with only homestead-food. Just an idea, you are doing very well and always have, so you don't need my advice. You are great, as you are!! But it might be fun and you won't use up too much of your Ressourcen, to get them dangerously low, just because you couldn't take advantage of a sale. I like your family very much!

Janice, you do an amazing job with what budget you have. But even on a budget things go up. You may have to consider a higher budget. And the lady is right about the pods. They are not good for the pipes. 😊

I am waiting for my twice a year dental cleaning. I love what you bought. Great job. Atleast the shelves have variety. Produce and dairy will be my haul on Thursday at Kroger's. I got over $400.00 a few times and I am into meal planning. Thank you for all your videos.

It wouldn't be the end of the world if you missed a week of sale ads. Try a month without buying any food and use your stock

I use only Gel dish washing detergent in my dishwasher, I too don't use those pods in my washing machine they don't always dissolve. I can't see spending money those pods and having to run the machines twice.
