- It's time to restock the pantry! I have $1100 to provide all of our food and household needs from the grocery store for our family of NINE for the month. I've carefully planned out where to shop and what prices are the best. I've studied the sale ads and I know which stores have the best prices. Today's shopping comes from 10 Box, Aldi, Kroger, and Wal-Mart. Later in the month, I'll make purchases from Sam's Club and Azure Standard. Come see the supplies a large family needs to live off of for a month!

Isn’t it wonderful when our children step and insist that Mama does for herself like we take care of them. We know we’ve raised them right at that point. All my children are grown now but they and my husband insist that I take time I need for myself. Usually it’s over my protests but it’s nice to know how much we’re loved and appreciated.

An intervention by your children is a good thing Janice...you & Shawn have, and are, raising very capable young people, so they are most able to 'hold the fort' while mama does some much needed healing time. The mini pickles are great for a quick pickle. If you have leftover pickle juice in a jar save and add your chopped mini pickles. You can even add in some of your favorite ranch seasoning, a few sprinkles. Let sit 48-72 hours and you have a quick fresh pickle. Store refrigerated.

Please take care of yourself. I just got out of the hospital for pneumonia, kidney issues AND sepsis of unknown origin. Be kind to yourself before you get as sick as me. And i am probably on my way back in tomorrow

If you have a Sprouts farmers market near you they have awesome sales on their Produce and on Wednesdays you can get the sale prices from the week before in the current week

Happy belated birthday, Janice! The world is a better place because you're in it! You have some very smart children. I think they're spot on about you slowing down and taking care of yourself. My son uses a nettie pot for his allergies. He says it stops them from progressing into a sinus infection most of the time. I also read that washing the pillows on your bed more often will help as well as laundering sheets up to twice a week instead of once helps. Washing your comforter also helps. And, if you have a shower curtain and/or liner, washing it will help. I know this is against your natue, but try to stay inside in the a/c during allergy season and get one of the boys to change the HVAC filter for you. My son washes his face and arms when he comes in from work. He has a beard and moustache, but you might still try to get most of the allergens off your face and arms. He also takes his work clothes off, showers and puts on clean clothes. When he was living at home, I would sprinkle baking soda on his mattress, let it sit for a while, then vacuum it off.
