I'm so happy she moved on with her life! Women are often crucified in scandals. Imagine if everyone who did something wrong was publicly humiliated....that would be everyone (except babies and animals) because no one gets through life without making mistakes!
Women crucified in scandals really? We live in a country where a woman can accuse a man of looking at her wrong in the office -- that man will be fired within the hour! He will be guilty before proven innocent, run through the ME Too Mill which automatically believes women without ANY PROOF whatsoever. He'll be banned from working at many location, abandoned by friends and family. When it's found out that nothing happened, the man is left to build from ground zero while the woman, who made a false claim, doesn't even get a slap on her wrist. Don't go there -- being wrongly crucified is an affliction on both SEXES and not just women. Here's something for you to do: Call the Police on a male friend that he beat you - see what happens. Also: I believe there are more relationships that are effected by chaeting of some sort than not. So why single someone out and publicly stone her for something that is in all honesty commonplace, bad, dangerous, hurtful and damaging as it may be? Because it´s scapegoating, it is projecting all the anger, fear, hurt and shame ot our own lives onto her, and then stoning that, and no one could with a straight face claim anyone deserves that. Own your own flaws and mistakes, don´t make someone else suffer for it.

What a wonderful interview. I so admire the stance Ms. Lewinsky has taken on helping us understand bullying and what to do about it.
‘Be Best’ seems ironic and fake after hearing this interview. Monica is is really working on bullying and shame.
I met Monica in '99 in Paris while she hiding from American media, she was sweet and I just remember looking at her and thinking she was the same age as me and I couldn't imagine being treated like her.
What a cool memory! I’m glad the culture has changed so that Bill is seen more as a predator. He never should have allowed things to escalate that far.
I just listen to the TED talk Monica gave on Public Humiliation. It was the most captivating speech I believe I have ever heard. I was moved to tears and inspired. What a courageous and authentic person. Thank you, Monica!!
She strikes me as someone who not only overcame what happened, but used it as a way to become stronger and more capable. Gotta give her the RESPECT.

@jes larcy Bingo! You're a bully.
I have some idea what kind of folly I encountered when I was 22 years old. It may not have been as spectacular as hers, but she and I both kept growing after that. What a waste of human potential it would be to judge someone based on any year in their early twenties. I am so glad she was not destroyed and she kept on to become her whole self. Hats off to Monica Lewinsky 🌷🕊
Careful when taking your hat off in church ... Someone may sit on it! A lot of folks in America deal w such "romantic" love early. Like age 14! So, being 22 ain't no remedy. Bill and Monica were like Romeo and Juliet ... only older. Much older! They was what society considered "adult", at the time. We've since come to understand there's a little bit of "girl" and a little bit of "boy" in all of us. Do you think Monica cracked a bull-whip and made #Bill lick from a saucer of milk? Poor dude! He was trapped ... "And, can't break out! Cause I luv U too much, baby!" ~ Elvis, Suspicious Minds, circa 1969
"But I'm still here" - wow, that hit me. Public shaming kills. She is a survivor.
I'm so happy she moved on with her life! Women are often crucified in scandals. Imagine if everyone who did something wrong was publicly humiliated....that would be everyone (except babies and animals) because no one gets through life without making mistakes!
Exactly!
Now wait a month and let a male friend call the cops on YOU and see what happens......go for it
@@juicyfruit4378 You wrote all of that without being aware of the abuse women suffered(for centuries) without any laws to protect them at home or at work.
When women started working outside the home, most men would be totally disrespectful to women and nothing would be done about it causing many to quit their jobs or be fired! It's a tough conversation but it needs to be acknowledged! Please do your homework before commenting.
@@juicyfruit4378 This is so inaccurate, it’s really difficult still for a person to prove assault even in 2021. Right. And not only was she humiliated when it happened - people wanted her to carry the shame forever. I was a kid when her particular scandal became news, and I’ve liked seeing how she has grown and moved past it over the years.

Tough might be a misnomer. When the choices are between coping and getting through it or suicide, substance abuse, becoming a recluse, a life wasted, well, those are some lousy choices. But it was her intelligence that made her pick the path that she did. And being smart enough to know how to play the game. Life in the public eye is a game of strategy and she has navigated her way through it beautifully.

I remember this occuring with Ms. Lewinsky when I was in high school and even then I never understood why everyone was so upset with her. I don't condone cheating but we all make mistakes. She was a young college grad and the most powerful man in the world is interested in you....I don't care what anyone says, that's attractive and intriguing AF
I remember it too and she was kind of a stalker, showing up everywhere, and ending up in his home. I would think she'd bear some blame. 22 is not that innocent. It's true she shouldn't have been touched, neither should she have been there. That is a conversation mothers need to have with their daughters...don't get into that situation.
