    Thanks for the video. This was informative. I think most of your issues may have been due to the unique fabrique weight. 33oz is ridiculously heavy for mine or most anyone's typical use, but I just ordered a my first custom purchase of Soso Yuki Deep Indigo 17.3oz japanese selvedge denim jeans in the classic fit but with decrease alterations for the knee and leg opening. Can't wait for them to arrive. Ps. Is that Indigo fade contest an annual and if so, how can I get into the next one, lol?

    Informative video! I got some OldBlue Co 33oz denim and I've soaked them, and washed them and they are still stiff as a board. They are all buttons for the fly too and I can't even put the buttons in the holes because they are so stiff. Any recommendations on how to soften them or make them more pliable? I've been rolling them up in all kinds of directions and thought about folding them in half and then putting a cover on top of them and running them over with a car lol but that seems extreme. Any recommendations or advice is appreciated!

    Blows my mind that you would have a blow out with the pocket in under a year with denim if that weight. Perhaps go for Japanese brand next time.

      @@ThePewLife Thanks for the reply. You should share them. I really want to know what SoSo jeans look like. They have some photos of their jeans but not as many as I would like and mostly close ups of back pockets. Yeah, close ups are great but I'd love to see the big picture. What would SoSo jeans actually look like on a person???

    Love the vids. I'm looking for jeans that are still heavy but flexible or stretchy. I sometimes have to run in my line of work lol I'm looking for the perfect jeans. I was thinking a 14oz.
    I liked and subbed. 👍

      If you need stretch jeans that are quality look at Nudie jeans. Make sure you go with selvedge denim. The fit is also critical. Dont just use your normal size.

    I got my pair ordered before the start of Y1, but went with a ODxJB collab. I ordered my rises too short which was my fault. However, I feel like they focused more on the fabric than the build quality.
    I still laugh when I randomly choose to wear these . They are just so ridiculous.

  • @sashayav5061

    Do they still feel very inflexible after your wear?

    Hello. I seriously consider buying a pair of these. Does 33oz become comfortable after a lot of time, or will it never be as comfortable as a classic 12-15oz ?

    • @bluecollarstyle8027
      @bluecollarstyle8027  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its fire hose thick. I love them but you're talking about twice the weight

    • @Dlbiasis
      @Dlbiasis 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bluecollarstyle8027 That means it will be less comfortable than lighter fabrics ?

    • @bluecollarstyle8027
      @bluecollarstyle8027  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Dlbiasis i think they are comfortable. I love heavy denim though. Will they ever be like 14oz denim, no. But neither will 21oz denim. Heavyweight denim is still comfortable, just heavier and stiffer. They have broken in as nicely as any other denim I have though

    Naked & famous denim 32oz has given me none of those problems

    • @wilsjane
      @wilsjane 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Naked & Famous 32,oz denim must be the toughest denim on the planet.
      My friends jeans are the only ones that have never been damaged by cigarette embers, even when their are no ashtrays at a party and he uses them to stub the cigarette out. It never leaves a mark once he brushes the ash off.
      If embers fell on yours, would you rub them out, rather than brush them off onto the settee.?
      I don't imagine that the jeans in the video would survive too many embers. 😊

    Wonder howd they work as motorcycle jeans

    • @wilsjane
      @wilsjane 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would be very suspicious. It looks to me as if they have used a lower quality cotton, replacing strength with thickness, probably to make the denim easier to sew. I can imagine them ripping and abrading through if you ever ended up sliding for more than about a yard.
      I wear these top grain cowhide jeans around town as a passenger on a friends bike They have lasted for ages and are only a fraction of the price of the jeans in the video.
      They are manufactured in the UK and the family company are friendly and honest if their next day delivery is held up for any reason. Delivery outside the UK takes a little longer, 3 to 4 days for most parts of the US.

    • @DRoche7
      @DRoche7 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wilsjane that's a heavier weight fabric problem in general and doesn't necessarily point to the quality. The weave matters a lot - heavy weight denim usually comes a little looser to give the owner any chance of breaking them in as a tight weave will make them even stiffer/rougher. 33 oz is definitely no joke but more of a novelty, whereas a 18oz heavyweight that's got a tighter weave and relaxed top block fit will be best for true riding.

    • @wilsjane
      @wilsjane 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DRoche7 That is very true. Their are also two general types of cotton and only one type should be used for denim.
      I can remember when we used to burn the stubble and the very heavy jeans sometimes started to smolder due to the looser weave. One guys jeans actually caught alight and he found out that the wrong type of cotton is far less fireproof than the correct one.
      Wearing denim for any type of work is a minefield and since jeans manufacturers do not make the denim, it can vary a great deal.
      At the time that we were stubble burning, I was wearing Levi's and they were virtually fireproof. I found out later that it was purely because they were made in Turkey, using locally produced denim that was very high quality.
