    I know you probably don't wear them anymore, but I'd like to see an updated video on those Levi's since your old ones left something to be desired with the picture/audio quality. The brief view of them we got here looked really nice!

    Nice review, but then most of your reviews are well done. Back in the day (1970's) the way we used to shrink our Levi 501 "shrink to fit" jeans was to put them on and climb into a tub of warm to hotish water, soak for 15 mins or so then go for a walk (hopefully on a warm day.) Your legs may have had a blue tinge to them from the dye for a few days but the 501's came out fitting perfectly.

    I'm really glad you showed yourself wearing the jeans. it's really helpful and gives me an idea of the fit! thanks. hope you do it more often.

    The denim on these looks really special. I've had a good few pairs of selvedge denims, but never had any unsanforised ones. Very interesting to see how these work out and especially how much and where shrinkage occurs. It was quite surprising to see the figures after wash, looks like they knew what would happen when they put the label on them? From what I hear sanforised denim is increasingly uncommon, as it places some demand on the retailers to know their stuff, and customers to trust them, with regards to the sizing.

    • @DevonReviewer
      @DevonReviewer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it did seem that the changes on waist and inseam were predictable / as expected.. surprised that the shrink ranges from 1 or 2 % to 6% depending on the area

    Really helpful about sizing unsanforized, thanks. 511s are just about my favourite cut. Been a little scrared about it but as I got more experience with raw denim I understand much better what my best fit and true size is. There is a lot more choice too with unsanforized. Some stores offer "One Wash" unsanforized which takes some of the guesswork out.

    I was about to size up until I saw your video! I currently wear 34inch waist jeans. For this 15oz Samurai I see that the 33 tag model has a 34inch waist unwashed. So you recommend I go with the 33 tag because despite the shrinkage the waist will stretch back to 34?

    Thanks for the video! My first unsanforized pair was also Samurai (and funny enough, I've got this very pair on the way now as well!) I tend to stick to one-wash these days, but I'm really glad to have gone through the shrinking experience a few times. Samurai in particular really needed a good 2-3 initial washes to get really down to size.

    I need to start making some 20oz Jeans and sell them for $700. LOL, No Jean is worth More than $100 Dollars, Even the Japanese are jumping on the fashion bandwagon as they know there are Fools out there that pay 10xs for something that maybe 1.5 times as good as a pair of Levi Jeans.
    Oops to late, Seems a company already has a 32oz Jean on the market, they actually stand up on their own 🤦🏼‍♂️
    Pricing on items are starting to get a little silly. Come on guys, for real?

    • @jimmydgrant
      @jimmydgrant 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m guessing you’re new to the raw denim scene, because most people feel the way you do until they actually find a pair that they love, and get hooked. And the Japanese have been in to fashion for a while now lol.

    • @ELEVOPR
      @ELEVOPR 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimmydgrant Yes, but their jumping on the high end of off. Raw or not, no Pair of Jeans should cost $365 dollars. LOL. Keep feeling those Jeans. While they empty out your bank accounts and fill up theirs.
      I myself have over paid for items. But after doing some research, I realized it's about name branding. I can present you with same Jeans, different Brand 5xs Cheaper and you still will pick the Japanese Selvedge brand. It's called Fashion Programming.
      It's your money, spend it how you want to. I am sure when you walk out of that store the store owners are happy, but baffled in how much people are willing to spend on an over hyped and over marketed product. I know I do 🤔

    • @jimmydgrant
      @jimmydgrant 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Please present the cheaper jeans that are indistinguishable from the ones in this video for $50. (They go for around $250 on Denimio if I’m not mistakin’) Genuinely interested!

    • @ELEVOPR
      @ELEVOPR 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Tony Of course they are making a Profit. That's wasn't my point. I am saying we are feeding this Frenzy buy buying such over priced items. For what? Jeans are Jeans and you probably won't use them much and after they fade a bit and aren't as crisp, you want to get rid of them.
      Don't get me wrong I buy Fashioned items. But never ever pay full price for them, ever.
      I cry when I see you people, who live in the Projects, parents are on welfare or have low income jobs and kids blow all their funds on a $400 belt, $350 sneakers, $40 socks, $1,500 Canada Down Jacket, $200 Sweater, etc, then live like bombs in a roach infested apt. Why? Because we feed this sad frenzy.
      All of a Sudden, a new Marketing scheme of Selvedge Jean's and Viola. Their worth $500. Hell to the No.
      I'm just trying to wake people up to stop feeding this Frenzy and making the Rich Super Rich and yourselves More Poor.
      If you can truly afford it and have money to blow, sure go ahead. But to anyone making 200k or less, don't blow your money on these over priced jeans. Look at that retard Kayne, worth 6.6 Billion? Who do you think made that possible?

    • @ryanfrizz
      @ryanfrizz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cost for the materials alone on a pair of iron hearts for example is around 150, and that's not counting the skilled labor from a first world country to stitch them and the vintage machines they use for said stitching, not to mention the cost of running and maintaining the vintage machines etc. If you want stuff made by a kid in a third world sweatshop with no quality control or attention to detail then go for it. As for the business about people in the projects spending all their money that seems like projecting to me
