I've never thought of the modes as rotated shapes, but I tend to think about the scale as a cycle and the modes as starting at different points in the cycle, so B Locrian is C Ionina starting and ending on B, and A Aolian is C Ionian starting and ending on A. Thinking in terms of shape for the scales are weirdly alien and intuitive to me. Great stuff!
This is great! I'm pretty sure you both would like some of the work on the subject of scales and modes from a you tuber Oliver Prehn on his New Jazz channel. I recommend you check out his videos: "All about music scales - a complete guide" "Modal theory - the 7 church modes explained" "Modes: a basic introduction with a crazy continuation" Ps, Olivers perspective is quite interesting, I can see many parallels between Kaleb's work and that of Oliver's. Cheers from another "down-underer"

For the Americans watching: "tone" is a whole step and "semitone" is a half step.
