Tournament flexibility is something that I’ve had to learn a lot. When money is on the line it’s hard not to stick to confidence baits. I had a bassmaster college tournament on Rayburn and we had 5 average fish in the boat. I’ve got a growing confidence with big baits so I committed myself to breaking from our finess pattern and catching a slaunch. In a big swimbait. Ended up sticking a fish around 7lbs and it helped us a ton
Good video! These adjustments videos are the best... in every sports.
100% on point man!!! I can promise you some of my best tournaments have been the ones where I didn't get stubborn and I didn't try to play the hero either with some giant change if something wasn't working anymore. It really is the minor adjustments that make the biggest differences the vast majority of the time and that's what you see almost always when you look as some of the best in the game. It's really hard to put something down especially when you go into a tournament with a game plan that was working perfect in practice but it seems like the more pressure these fish get these days the faster they adjust to us and what we're doing. Congrats on the win and great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
The simple things that you share are so awesome Mikey, thank you for sharing brother 👊❤️
good job dude, keep up the info. I just did the grind most of last week and tried to adjust but weren't successful. thks.
Bro I’m on the same bite on my lil herring lake. It’s tough because the fish have seen everything before.
I switched from a 3/16 to a 1/8 tungsten jig head and a buoyant plastic in Z-man..had a 30 fish day back to back! They literally want the bait floating around not falling or swimming….crazy but killer
Best channel on the tube - love the detail
Thanks bro!
U are definitely on the pro level Mikey I live in Volusia county Florida when u gonna come back down to the Harris chain and do a video? I miss ur old Florida videos
@7:55 YES! YES! YES! I tell my gf this all the time. I just need to see how the fosh react and this does that. Are they disinterested with the lure. Are they nipping at it, are they following it? Is the lure spooking them?
Also, you mentioned that " you have to keep it away from them, maybe three feet above". I wonder if it is because of the light refraction you were talking about earlier how the lure "changes color". They are seeing it from below, at a distance so it for sure looks like what it needs to, a dying bait fish I'd assume. Whenever watching Big Mouth a Lue Glen film, they talk about this. I'd assume it's similar to larger predators in the seas as well. 🤷🏾♂️
Thanks for the in depth content. I greatly appreciate it. I am almost done with my degree so I'm doing a full summer semester and I cannot fish until the end of this month and this is keeping me going. I appreciate you. I am trying to get on the fishing team on campus and if not I'm just going to take my little Jon Boat and compete around. I hope you don't mind me asking you questions in the future.
Great breakdown bro. It's all about bouncing around and tweaking things to get bites. Good stuff.
Mikey! Break the Megabass Deeps Six Gold Kinkuro (metallic gold/black back orange belly) man it absolutely smashed the bigs!!!
Congratulations again bud! I’m tickled for you! I’ve said it before, just keep doin you! It will happen!🎣🏆💰
Thanks Balzzz for keepingnit real! You've got Best TH-cam channel.
Your humility makes me want to resubscribe again, but I can't. You may become my new favorite fisherman
100% on the letting your whiteish baits get old and yellowish. I’ve had experiences in the past where an old faded color or color changed from sitting or mixed with other baits- made all the difference… it’s not a color made by paint it’s made by the exposure to elements..gives it a more natural look in the water
Imma definitely work on that. Thanks for the tips!
I'm just trying to learn as I go and catch some video of it.
those Grandebass Airtail Wigglers are DEADLY!
Also fish see chartreuse/white/yellow as just a very vibrant contrasty white
I'm being stubborn on making the move to upgrading to FFS mainly because I want the tec to get a little better. I'm a weekend angler and I'm sure it will improve my A Game. Thanks Mikey for the juice. Much appreciated bro
We were seeing bass all around and they wouldn't take the normal junebug vibe. So we changed colors to Junebug Red and had the best 3 days on the Kissimmee chain in our lives....don't be afraid of change and NEVER leave catchable fish...they're eating something...find out what it is!
adjustments and perspective 👍
Thanks.
Congrats dude. Great big bag
Congrats Homie awesome job
Congrats on the win, but does it beat the win down in Florida with the boat breakdown.
10,15 more casts. Ill try it. This has been a question i have been askikg.
Congrats on the win MrBalzz
Thanks man!
But I do live in Florida... so are you saying I should dump the other 16 rods I have? lol🤪congrats on the amazing day! And you ain't wrong about down here, you only need a couple of techniques to catch fish all year long
Glad "y'all" made the right adjustments lol

Were those Neko fish on bottom?
Also any pointers or tricks to try to get those followers to commit? I swear I try everything and they ain't having it sometimes.
Mikey is an absolute HAMMER.
Isn't the slx dc a 70 sized reel? You'll have to see if the slx 70 mgl spool will fit in there.
I've noticed the same thing here on Neely I had a couple of old packs of white dinner minner swimbaits in white that turned yellow-ish and they get bit🤘🤘✌️🖖
Yeah I don't know if it's because of the yellow bass or what but there is definitely something to it
@@mikeybalzz definitely
Where's the core tackle hover rig??
Changing tactics all day is exactly how you fish Rodman... 🤫🤫🤫
Guys forget that your color crank bait looks awesome in the sun! Think how it looks under 18’ in cloudy Guntersville/Chickamauga TVA nastiness!! Think deep boys
So on a typical day on Guntersville how much time do you spend graphing and searching for stuff vs just going to places you already have waypoints for and just running them?
I've put a lot of seat time in over the years so I feel like I have a good base but I always try to put in 1 to 2 hours per trip this time of year to see if I can't find one or two new things
@@mikeybalzz yeah, this year I committed to spending part of every trip going to some part of the lake I've not been to and just graph around to find new stuff ...
@@astrophysicistguy u gor to or u don't grow
@@mikeybalzz agreed. It's so easy to want to just go back to the same places you've caught fish in the past but you don't learn anything just doing that
Sad that TH-cam videos now most of them catching bass is based of FFS , where’s videos for anglers that don’t have one.
Those grande bass worms are money on a shakey head or neko
Mikey, I do believe you've attracted the attention of Ukrainian Tik Tok. LOL! Keep bringing us "Unique Content" Love 7lb Sunline Sniper!
🤣
It’s about electronics!! Live scope and $$$$!! Not fisherman anymore, everyone depends on live scope to catch fish!!
You make it sound way harder than it is. The key is finding fish that want to eat and the pros are very good at this. Once you find those fish anyone can catch them
Oh yeah. When was your last 24# bag?

Working man and the spoiled?
I’m getting paully shore vibes

Hey everyone make sure you keep your hands clean from sunscreen otherwise it'll get the bass sick. Also when you're handling them Keep your hands wet
Pro or Joe I just enjoy fishing 🎣
Right on
Pros aint crap...tons guys out there tear them new azzhole they just don't have the money.
Mikey smh ….. every an I mean every time I got down to 8 lb let alone 6 lb I get popped off by these smallies , but yet some days can’t get a bite on anything but the lighter line , runnin a st croix an shi Mano miravel it’s prolly time to get a more expensive reel with a drag that can keep up ? ( usually anything around 4 pounds …. Pops it drag loose an all )
Get better line. PLINE CCX in 6 or 8 lb. Straight line, no leader.
It will straighten a light wire hook out. Because it's so strong it has some memory when it gets old. But it's cheap enough I just always change it out fresh. Spray it with reel magic once in a while.
@@jaredleicht1656 p lines what I’m usin man , I don’t think it’s ccx though ….
The difference is simple it's about 100,000$
Exactly. The difference is being able to buy forward facing sonar and not have to work cause your already rich. 😂😂😂
@@stoneyoutdoors8819 Anyone can buy these things by working for them. I'm a full time factory worker for 20 years and I bought a 2018 Nitro z20 in 2022 that someone else already loaded with electronics. I did save up some money last year to add the active target this season.
