You should try to compare the simply white sample to the ceiling in your apartment since that’s the comparison you’re wanting to be closer. Hope this helps!

My suggestion is to get a folding table until your desk arrives. That way you can store the table and have it when you throw parties, guests over, etc.
I second this! Instead of wasting money on a desk and then getting rid of it in a few months.

If you paint the ceiling and walls in your new house the same colour there won’t be a ‘line’ and the walls won’t look creamy or beige.
It’s so cool that your producers seems to care about the participants. I feel like so many other shows wouldn’t care. They’d just air everything for the attention.

I admire taras relationship with her parents. Especially her dad. I grew up with no sort of relationship with my dad. Even tho he lives with us and it was a complete family, he never really actually held a conversation with me or my sister. My dad got deported a few years ago back to Mexico and I’ve always wished to have a relationship like Tara’s with her father. I can only imagine how sweet it could be🥺
Tara the Benjamin Moore app has an option to project the paint color onto your walls so you can see what it would look like in your space!!

Yes but seeing it in an app is not reliable when making a small distinction between shades of a color. Would work to see a color overall but not how specific she is getting.
What about just white. Cant you use pure white?

I thought that the sample was a bit lighter than the apartment walls, but another really nice bright warm white is Behr's Bit of Sugar.

My husband is a painter and the 2 colors that everyone wants right now are: Alabaster and Agreeable Gray (more white than gray). Both are Sherwin Williams colors. :)

My mom has used Benjamin Moore “white dove” consistently on trim and what not throughout our house! It’s a great color

I mean… There’s a couple things to consider with the paint. For example the lighting will be entirely different in your new house as opposed to your apartment, like your apartment lighting is either super warm or super cool, and I’m assuming your house lighting will be kind of more like daylight. You could also try and Color match the ceiling if you like that color better and then just choose similar colors of white to that.. Benjamin Moore‘s website has a tool where you can take a photo off of your phone of colors and I don’t like find the colors in that photo for you? So that could be a possibility

I really like the Welty rose glasses, the tint looks really good with your tan and will still look nice when it fades, the last ones are also a nice shape.
I literally just ate avocado, hard boiled eggs and dijon mustard on toast for breakfast so this is officially my favourite vlog ever for that one detail alone.
As someone who doesn’t have a relationship with my dad. I envy and tear up with the way Mitch is as a father.

Hey! I wanted to let you know that running gummies are typically intended for long runs that last 2+ hours when body is truly out of energy. The gummies are pretty much a waste of time and money when eaten on shorter runs like 5ks and can even unnecessarily upset your stomach.

The house we bought had Simply White on ALL the walls and I would definitely say it leans on the more yellow/cream side. We just painted a bunch of our rooms in Behr's "Crystal Cut" white and I love it. It's a really nice white that still has some warmth but doesn't lean yellow (in my opinion).

Paint sample seemed a bit lighter, but you might be able to ask your apartment management what the color is they use in the apartments. We always ask for the color so we can buy touch up paint for when we move.
Definitely having a case of the Mondays over here...but a pizza for lunch and 20ish mins with my favorite vlogger has brightened my afternoon

Your sample looks whiter than your apartment walls (to me)... I dig that you know in your gut what you don't want... and more so, what you do want... your house is turning out amazing and I truly enjoy your Reno updates.. I work as a leasing consultant for apartment complexes and you can always reach out to maintenance and ask the exact color of the walls if you think it’s the same color!
It definitely looked lighter then the apartment walls. As well as I know other people mentioned it but you can ask your complex what color they have on the walls
Had to comment because I just went through this exact same paint debacle in my home reno. I painted the entire house Simply White and it ended up coming off super yellow. I repainted everything Chantilly Lace and they are SO much better and brighter now. If you can, try and have them paint a whole wall (or at least a large section of a wall) so you can really see how the color looks in your space/lighting before committing!

I would say that when you say you want your house to be like a hotel (think you said that in one of your vids from last week) that since you see it as a hotel it won't actually feel like home! Go crazy with decor, make it homie, make it cozy n all that jazz! Just a suggestion. Love your vids

The sample for the wall paint is definitely brighter and the 1st dark frame glasses look the best on you!
Loved this vlog!! For the paint colours, something to consider is that you have so much light in your new place, it seems much brighter in the day time and the colours are going to appear different in both homes! I loved simply white in the sample, but I haven’t seen them in person either! ☺️
You gotta run in the morning or run in the evening when the sun is going down when it starts getting hot outside. I am from Florida and I run in the morning at 7am before the sun comes up because other wise it is way to hot to run.

My whole house is painted Simply White and I promise you won’t regret it! It’s the perfect neutral white with a touch of warmth. It does not translate beige or cream at all. You have more light and evenly dispersed Windows in your new home which will make the color appear much brighter than it does in your apartment anyways!

We had the same paint dilemma when purchasing our house. We ended up choosing behr ultra pure white because i wanted it to be a pure white that didn’t lean beige and didn’t lean blue. i’m super happy with how it turned out and have ZERO regrets.
Hey Tara! I'm a designer and in Winnipeg and my go to is Chantilly Lace. I painted my whole main floor with it and I lived with it for years and loved the choice everyday and if I tried a diff white in a diff room I'd always hate it and go back to Chantilly Lace! It's neutral!! You will love it

I personally think the paint sample looks brighter than the walls in your apartment.. I actually painted my guest bedroom with just pure paint, like just picket up a bucket of paint at the store and didn’t add any color to it, and I really love it! It’s neither cool or warm! And the sunlight looks great reflecting of the white walls ☺️ so that’s an option 😅 to just not pick a color! Haha
Running in the heat can be SO hard! I’m from southeast Louisiana so have to recommend going super super early! Like I normally will start my run at like 6:15. I know it kinda sucks but it’s worth it!! Good luck!

I’ve had my apartment completely repainted years ago and I really liked the Behr paints from Home Depot. They are non-toxic water based and do not yellow with heat or over time (the oil based paints do yellow over time in a hot kitchen or hot weather in general and it’s awful. The white literally turns yellow white! That’s what my building used. So back to Behr paints. I used what’s called ceiling white for ceilings only and a twilight gray on the walls and the ceiling popped as cheerful and bright matching doors and trim. For doors and trim I used their white enamel paint made for those areas. For walls they have about 6 or 7 mixes and I always went with flat because eggshell and above are too shiny and reflective. But as to exact white color for walls my advice would be to have ceilings painted first and then your white walls of your choosing. Behr has nice crisp whites. Just look at the wall of sample colors at the store. It will become obvious, your choice…when you see the sample cards up close (not online). I agree with you that too cream or yellow/warm of a white will be disappointing as it looks more dirty and less clean and crisp.
I disagree and think that the swatch was definitely a lighter shade than your apt walls but the suggestion I have if you don't want to go with it is Pure White SW 7005, Sherwin-Williams. It’s a timeless white that doesn't lean too cool or creamy, so it acts as the perfect neutral backdrop for any interior space, and literally brightens just about any room

Okay a small tip from a nail pro. Don’t leave your open bottles of gel in front of the lamp. Any gel exposed can/will be cured as well. Otherwise, have fun with your nails. Nail art is fun regardless of age. I have a client in her 60’s who always does nail art when I see her.
The swatch is lighter in color than your apartment walls. The last pair of glasses you tried on looked the best !!!. I love your purple sweater 💜. I used Olympic white by Sherman Williams on my walls but it is a pale blue gray. I like cool tones not warm. The contrast or accent color I used was Highland loch, a beautiful blue teal that compliments the light blue gray. Turned out really nice.

Since everything has shut down I have been working in contracting for my dad's business. Honestly, Chantilly Lace is our most popular white and it's my favourite. I can't recommend another white that I like more lol

I'm so curious about that paint colour, I painted my whole condo in simply white early pandemic and it looks white to me but on your video it does look more beige. I swear it's a warm white lol, I really like how it looks.
With the paint you could try a heritage white, I think Dulux have a new heritage line actually. They will have a white that isn't a stark harsh white but not a cream and you can definitely do the ceilings and the wall the same colour! ☺️

Oh finding a slightly warm tone white is so hard!
I am using Smokey White by Behr in my apartment. It is a warmer tone white but isn't too yellow. There are a lot of warmer tone fixtures in my rental so I needed to be careful when choosing a white. I would also suggest checking out Designer's White from Benjamin Moore or Stream from Benjamin Moore's Affinity Collection.They were other options I looked as well.
To make the water drinking easier, it’s helps me to think about four water bottles. That is the MINIMUM a women our size should be drinking. You don’t have to drink out of actually water bottles, but the 16oz is an easy measure. Even just find a cup or glass around you that is 16 oz, those wide mouth mason jars are.
simply white looks slightly lighter than your apartment walls, but if you’re still unsure you can always mix the two paints together and try putting a swatch of that on the walls of your house to see if you like that better 🤷🏼♀️😊 hopefully that made sense and was helpful

Hey Tara as a fun little summer drink try getting an iced chai tea latte with strawberry cold foam on top. It’s not on the menu but they just add strawberry purée to the cold foam. It tastes like a milkshake. So good
