I think it’s cool that when Zack tosses a ball to one of the kids (which he does constantly), he is sometimes starting that young fan’s baseball collection. I wonder if the kids realize they should get Zack to sign that ball he tossed them, because a ball from Zack IS a celebrity ball. To me, it would be cool to point to a ball on a shelf, decades later and say “Zack threw me that” and it was his 1,243,712 th baseball ! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
What year did u attend ur first reds game? I'm asking because back in 1994 at the ripe age of 11. I figured out that the bus that came by my house everyday also went downtown next to the stadiums. I jumped on that bus and dropped my qtr in and it took me from the suburbs in cincy down to fountain square. And that's how I became a regular at Red Home games thru the 90s. I was at every Reds home game. I knew when they arrived at the stadium and I knew where the other team was staying always going back and forth from stadium to hotels. I waites for autographs underneath the stadium every game before and after. I ended up seeing alot of Bret Boone where we kinda had a friendly relationship. I was only person underneath one day and it was raging so he brought me into the clubhouse after that every time I saw him he had something for me. Great second baseman but even better human being.i know He loved Porsches. Going to all these games I had lose my bus fair and ticket money running to the stadium. I didn't know what to do to get home but I had a joe Oliver autograph bat dozens of game balls and autographed reds and the opponent they was playing. Walked around downtown tryin to sell my items and I run into this old man who almost hit me coming out of a garage in the nicest car I ever seen at age 12 at the time. I ask him if he would like to buy these items because i had lost my ticket money for reds game and also my bus fair. He tells me no need to sell ur ball stuff and says his name is Carl Lindner billionare who owned at the time part of the reds but years later full owner and he also owned at the time chiquita bananas' Nestle'. He had owned multiple big businesses around the world. Well he tells me to walk into this underground garage thst he just batmaned out of and the guards would have what I needed. I told him ty and let me remind u this was a season the reds were a stinker so he says whenever I need tickets to come to his office. So I did and I was best friends with a billionaire till he died. I would sit with the larosa family all the time behind visitor dugout or in a suite if it's new stadium. I Was reds ballboy for abit where duties included number 1 always listen to the players and do what ever they tell u. Thst would include all types of things from organizing m&ms by color to making sure some players had whatever they wanted that they thought would make the team win. A certain reds pitcher from 1999 always wanted a chilled coke in a 16oz glass no ice and hot wings ready after the game that he would pitch. Sorry for long comment I watch ur vids when u post them and ur reds jk reminiscent of some of the best baseball ever late 90s early 2000s.
Wow! I love your long comment. The baseball world needs more diehard fans like you. My first game was at Cinergy in 1998. Check this out: mlblogssnaggingbaseballs.wordpress.com/2013/03/07/7298-at-cinergy-field-2/
I’m a reds fan and went there twice this season and been going to watch the reds since 1990 at Riverfront. Never got a ball from the games but I have a Wally Joyner ball from my one-time-only non-cincy game in Kansas City when I was younger. Ah, the baseball gods.
Cannot wait to take the family and maybe catch one my favorite player, Joey Votto. Btw my dad, who unfortunately passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2012, worked at the Scripps Howard building which is the skyscraper that sticks out that looks like Darth Vader (kinda). We went to countless games together and it's a constant reminder of his love for the game and our times together there. The Reds are always in my heart. Fan for life.
Zack, Congrats for getting a Home Run from Votto, you really deserve it Thanks to share it... And by the way I enjoyed the baseball granny, she’s unique
I was there didn't know who you were but my brother did and was freaking out. So I checked out your channel and I love it. Keep up the good work. P.s it stung when Jay Bruce tied it up. He used to be my favorite reds player.
That Lorenzen homerun ball would have been special, because he was the first player since Ruth, to pitch, hit a home run and play in the field in the same game.
Zack, for your next Q&A: Aside from games where you catch a lot of balls, what is the most memorable game you’ve ever been too, based on the game itself?
Is it weird when i went to this game and when i saw someone catch his home run i was like it be cool if it was zack hample and here i am on youtube like dang it was you
Travis Chouinard I’m 3 for 3 in autographs this season. I’ve gotten Jorge Alfaro, Harold Ramirez, josh hader, Alex claudio, Luis Castillo and Erick Gonzalez
Zack, I saw the vid that GiraffeNeckMarc did on his channel that you were in. Really thought it was funny when he said, "Just spotted a wild Zack Hample out here." Cant wait for that vid :D
Great video, but hard as a Phils fan to stomach that series. Fighting for a playoff spot, 4 games against a last place team, handily won the first two. Then fought back from a five run deficit in this one only to blow it late, then fought back late in game four only to lose on a walk off in the 11th. Very disappointing split with a last place team. And sure enough, here today about a week later, the Phils sit 2 games out of a playoff spot.
Hey Zack I was at the twins vs nationals game last night (we got spanked by the nats) and Astudillo threw a ball in the crowd and I was gonna get it, and some teenager took it. I was like 3 inches away!
you always ask kids if they want a ball after you catch one and so I have always thought it would be really funny if someone catches a ball and then comes up to you and says "Hey Zack, do you want a ball?" I really hope that happens once, I want to see Zack's reaction.
People often offer me baseballs. I usually don't show it because I don't want to encourage it. I'm not interested in owning baseballs that other people catch.

Zack, you have over 1,232,000 to go to make this happen. I suppose there will be a way to jump over seats in a wheelchair.😜
Jorge Rodriguez Or a walker. Somehow I think Zack would make it work
Yee
I just went to MLB website and watched the highlight of this homerun. They did a quick closeup of you celebrating in clip. Very cool!
Thanks!
Zack catches the Votto HR ball without wearing the lucky Votto wristband.😀
7:47 That was awesome ! God bless you men.👍
Thanks. The wristband only needs to be worn briefly inside the stadium to work all day. :)
You mean 8:15.
1:08 @ the kid who thought he was actually gonna get the ball .....
Lmao rip

Great to see the man at work 👊
This was a historic game with Lorenzen's performance, very cool you were there, this was an awesome video 👍
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
Killer day(votto) I love how your never too busy for auto seeker...
I do my best. Sometimes during BP I ask people to wait until there's a break in the action, and most people are cool with that.
the kids are so cute cheering you on.
13:43 @jomboy lmaoooo
Yo..was bouta watch Giraffenecks video where he just met you.

Zack catches more fly outs than the players do during games!
5:09 this kid😂
Make a video when you trip on seats and fall while trying to jump over them
13:45 that's the meme
Gotta love the Jared Hughes sprint to the mound 😂
Loved it when Chris asked for the ball😂😂
Cool shirt.
That pretty much sums it up.
Spent a lot of time there when I attended UC! Love the stadium. Wish they gave the fans a reason to fill it!

Kid: GOOD JOB! (High fives zack)
Zack: thank you

The kid at the beginning thought you were gonna toss him the ball 😂
My favorite player of all time Mr. Joey Votto.
And we not gonna talk about the “kid” during the 7th inning stretch? :P
That may or may not be me
I was there too !! About 15 rows behind you!! Nice catch out there! Your awesome.

Zack needs to hold some fielding lessons on tracking ball up stairs and over seats. It looks like an intense workout.
It definitely can be.
Q and a what is you top 3 least favorite ballparks
Good question.
That ticket line, though.
