My big Sis (Michigan) and I (Indiana) are taking our Dad to the October 3rd, 2022 Cubs @ Reds game for his 86th birthday (He hasn't been to Great American Ball Park since the season opening series in 2004, GABP's second year)... So lucky to have stumbled onto your fun and "genuinely enthusiastic" video about what a great thing Cincinnati has going with the Reds and GABP having 81 home dates for families or friends to pick from on any given date (pre-planned or zero-notice), and knowing the atmosphere is going to be friendly and fun for all involved... Kudos to your comparison of attending a Baseball game -vs- a Football game!! The chatter in the crowd is half the fun and beauty of Baseball, and that simply doesn't happen at NFL or NBA games (nor at their college counterparts)... Certainly something to be said for taking in a slow-paced game where you can savor the action AND the conversation all at the same time!! You guys enjoy the Reds 2023 Playoff run next season!!

I grew up & still reside in Northern Ky & I agree with everything u said. I have so many memories of Reds games from Riverfront to GABP. The Reds organization nailed it with the park. Cincinnati is beautiful & the ballpark is setup perfectly in the city along the river. Definitely recommend anyone visiting to check it out. Especially a Friday night because of the fireworks after the game. GO REDS & WHO-DEY TO ALL THEM BENGALS FANS.

Great video! We just moved to Cincinnati a few months ago. I can't wait to take my daughter to a Reds game! ⚾️

Well, here in Rochester, New York, we have a minor league team but I still love going to games. It's really cool, and the organ playing and all that is the best.

This guy should be the marketing director for the Reds.

Phillies fan here - my friend and I went to a game in the summer of 2023, out first ever visit to Cincinnati
There was a Reds HOF ceremony with Bronson Arroyo, and Pete Rose (among others).
There was also a rain delay, which happens - it's baseball.
All in all, it was a nice experience. Except for one person, the fans were really cool.
We are headed back in a couple months so that my friend can see her Pittsburgh Pirates play (in a game that might actually be a meaningful one).
We are looking forward to it.

The success my Astros have had, have made ticket prices so high it’s unbelievable. Realistically, we can only budget to go to 1-2 games/year. Yes, i agree 100% about everything you said. I felt that. God Bless brother

I was lucky enough to work on that stadium when being built. I got to go places inside that most people will never see as well as Lucas Oil Stadium here in Indianapolis

I had the pleasure of going there in 2018 when they played the Texas Rangers and lost. I couldn't get over how affordable things were at Great American Ballpark and enjoyed JMR's Fireworks and Music Performance after the game. I look forward to heading out there in late July when the Reds take on the Brewers. I am also going to do some Job Searching and Real estate - Apartment Hunting when I go down there to!

Compared to other cities, it’s a bargain. Let me know if I can help. :)

I went to A couple of games in 2019. I’m a Brewers fan so I was disappointed at the fact that the Reds shut out the Brewers both games. It was the evening of July 3rd so there was a fantastic fireworks show after the game. Loved the stadium and the surrounding area. Will definitely go back there gain sometime. Was there for the Bengals/Packers game last year.

Awesome video! Would love more of these with family friendly things to do in the area. My wife and I are considering a move up that way (from Lexington) and we won’t have family to watch the kids. Keep up the good work!

@@mo4ane Thanks for saying that! The potential of a strong and vibrant Catholic community is #1 on our priority list. We are Catholic homeschoolers and I have a strong desire to work for the church, so being at the intersection of the diocese of Covington AND the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is a huge plus for us. Any tips for connecting with a vibrant Catholic community would be awesome.

@@TeamSztanyo You’re welcome. We actually went to GABP in 2019 for our first major league game. It was fun, but I think we “did it wrong.” We ended up in seats that were miserably hot and just kinda meandered around the stadium. Was still a great experience. Now we will have to try again with your pro tips.

Yeah, should have mentioned that. Any daytime games, sun can be brutal. For cost/view/protection from sun and rain and kid convenience, I love 1st base side lower or upper deck.

Might go to the Saturday Reds/ Blue Jays game in August. Where do you recommend staying that is walking distance to the game? Just one night. Thanks

Depends on budget. AC Hotel by Marriot is right across the street. Hampton Inn in Newport. Or, embassy suites in Covington would give good views.

One time when I lived there, I was invited onto a cabin cruiser on the river because an older lady was being set up for a blind date with me. (I wasn't into it), but I loved the river and we boated behind Riverfront and listened to Frank Sinatra singing there. The echo over the water was very romantic, I just had the wrong lady.

04:03 You should add some tags or info in the description for accessible seats because your video is the only one I have found showing these seats. All of the seat view sites are forward from the handicap accessibility row. Thank you for posting.

Do you have to pay extra to hang out in the area with the swings and the view of the city?
