Dude my ass been getting kicked left and right and I was not understanding at all because I could parry decent before. Read this comment and sure enough I'm mad than a MF now. My son was clowning me cause I kept getting swept no I got something for his ass lol 😂
If you played Sekiro, you can Button swap the guard button with the deflect button so it feels like something you're more used to doing. Or in general it gives your right index more to do than just tiring out your thumb switch buttons Luke crazy.
Back when I played Nioh, my favorite trick for parrying was, wait for a combo attack and parry the very last attack in the combo. That way I knew it was coming well before it came out.

But combat lame not skill so many random bugs or trash like at least 5 times yesterday seen enemy stuck on ladders

Wow Thanks Man as holding the block right before the critical blow allows Me to actually deflect those and I just killed the second boss because of your video and now I feel I can finally deflect properly 😃
@@JO-jl2ln you might be too heavy. Same thing happened to me and I had to reduce the armor I was wearing. Also I believe there is a stat that you can increase that improves your deflection abilities.
The combat in this game is bullshit and I don't understand anyone who accepts this. Before any low IQ person says "gEt GoOd" I have beaten like 5 or 6 bosses in the game so far. It is not about skill either. Its just not fun dying 50 times to learn every second of the bosses abilities just to get lucky on the 51st try and win. You should be rewarded for landing a fraction of a second ability like deflect, not extremely punished if you dont. The entire game is focused on this one fraction of a second mechanic. The only thing you can do is put all of your leveling points into the wood phase to increase your health as much as possible, be lucky in general, and hope the boss doesn't decide to use multiple abilities back to back that stun lock you before you can even use a health pot. You have to hit deflect as the attack is about to hit the player. The attacks have extremely different charge up times. Some instant, some take 2 or 3 seconds. This is not fun, its a chore. You literally have a fraction of a second to hit ONE button accurately while simultaneously not in the middle of an animation. Ninja Gaiden had so much better combat then this game. That game took REAL skill and I mastered it.

You can't block the red attacks though, that's the whole point of them. So holding block before a deflect won't block those attacks if you deflect late. You'll still take the damage
Omg there’s no i frames. I’ve been playin this game for a week screamin at my tv bc I was dodging through the attacks. But now I know there’s no i frames so I can’t dodge through. God dammit
Despite how low quality the graphics/level design are and how cheesy the voice acting/story is, the combat in this game is some of the most satisfying I've been experiencing in a video game this year.
Too bad you didn't go into the button presses and combinations of what buttons deflect and what button blocks. So you hold the block(L1) constantly, then tap circle while holding block to deflect?
I noticed that stationary and deflecting while moving have different invincibility windows. Deflecting in any direction lasts longer than deflecting stationary so the invincibility window is longer.
Bro they could let a player change ethe deflect be a timing the block system.. like a perfect block I hate to try to deflect or dodge and doing the opposite of what I wany
I play on xbox so is it worth changing keybinds from X to RB and Y to RT. More used to rb and rt as attacking. So it it worth changing or does it put me at a disadvantage
Yes..on Xbox it's y and b together .. on playstation is triangle circle..not sure on PC..you'll see a meter filling up on the right lower part of the screen..looks like a picture filling out.your companion will say something when it's time too..during the second phase..youll know when it's time...and do the training as soon as u are able to travel at the flags..some useful stuff in there

I noticed my armor made a huge difference. If you have too much weight, it’s basically impossible to parry

The boss fights in Wo Long are so satisfying, especially the first boss, I ended up playing the demo multiple times just to fight him in various ways.

The armor doesn't play a role. You can parry with or without armor.

If you have heavy armor that means you're over weight. So everything you do will be slower.
Parry a half second earlier than you normally would, and armor does not play a role in the speed of the deflect only the jog/run and roll speed.
