BlessedDevin look bro, I’m gon fill u in from a player and a brother perspective. Not Everyone gonna be ur friend, when u step on that field for practice or scrimmage, fight like ur life depends on it. I was benched my whole freshman year no one thought I was ever good enough, prove me wrong champ and just kno, hard work IS success. I’m heading home to my junior year now and I’ve been working on the fundamentals offseason and getting stronger. Focus on football and school and don’t let nobody tell u nothing. I’m a linebacker for varsity now btw😉
KnockFire it's most likely you are putting on weight due to muscle gain, or your increased appetite from the work could be the reason you are gaining weight
I have he utmost respect for running backs. They get pounded every play and walk back like it's nothing. I'm a lineman so the contact I get their not running. Shout out to the running backs
The grind does not stop, wether you're 9 or 99! I was 5'8 as a sophomore but I earned my receiver spot by studying the game and making every rep at practice count, putting in 200% every day.
#2 is the hardest hitter on this list. As a coach, this is my favorite question to hear. It shows the player is hungry to learn and goes a long way in making me want to give that player a shot.
Yes! That’s the number one thing. ASK QUESTIONS! Coaches love when you ask questions because they know you want to get better, my freshmen year i was benched the whole season till I had enough, I asked my coach on what I have to do to get better, I did exactly what he told me to and got to starting linebacker, NEVER GIVE UP!!
That talk to your coaches step is KEY 🔑. This is where you can get valuable feedback on your play and a coach can give you a reason for you not playing. A lot of players never ask and the coaches feel that they don't care! Great video bro #GOATGANG
I appreciate you bro. I'm thinking of starting it back up again but focusing on things that we all need now that most of don't play as much anymore. What would you wanna see on my channel now?
I remember my sophomore year when I was the 3rd string center for the varsity football team (essentially 2nd string JV center). One game, the starting varsity center got injured so the starting JV center filled in, meaning that I was going to start for JV the next day. A week later, the starting JV center got a concussion, which meant that I was definitely gonna start for JV in the next few weeks. So yeah, everything he said in the video will have a chance of happening.
I feel but I never showed up and I was a dope player there were times I’d show out I’d get fumbles I’d get sacks I get catches there was a time I was lined up against our best corner and I was able to catch the ball over him didn’t get no Fucking recognition but thats just life
in grade 10 i didnt even play a single game but during off season and i started to workout and work alot on stance and footwork and in grade 11 i started every game and we went 9-2 that season and some local university are watching me and my friend
I was. In a similar situation in grade 10 I was on JV didn't get a lot of playing time I only got to played a little bit I wasn't a starter im doing off season workouts to get stronger and to get better and to get in shape to make varsity this year
Be confident in your skills, work extra on what you messed up on, outwork everyone at your position, don’t be afraid to compete with the starters, keep working no matter what
I started at DE and was a beast but got to comfortable in practice and started slacking off and lost my spot so know I gotta train all day and get that spot back.
Asked coach what I needed to do to become qb1 told me what I needed to do, then told me either way I wasn’t going to win the job last three games season qb1 started blowing off practices, I was already working on what coach told me to work on, coach named me qb1 and went off in last three games threw at least 2 touchdowns (rare since our offense is super run heavy) for like 125 yards, won the last three games which were against the three toughest teams in our division. Joe Burrow like story if you ask me.
My 13 year old son is 6'4 weighs about 280, this is his first time ever playing football...He is a starter, gets the most play time, he is a captain and plays offense and defense...he never misses practices, works out outside and during season, etc...so this man is on point on what to do to be a starter.
I remember last season when two of my teammates were suppose to finally play from suspension and one of them was suppose to start, but they still couldn't play until the week after, opening me up to play that game. Everyone told me I played really good, but I still never got much playing time after that game despite nearly 100% attendance and alertness in practice. Now I'm in varsity, still waiting for my opportunity.
Bro GREAT TIPS being a HS Head coach in Florida these kids need to understand that the hard work and great mindset will pay off! Thanks for what you do!!!!!!!
I was the starter last year but now a new center transferred from another school where he was the starter. We are about the same skill level but right now it’s a big ass battle for the spot wish me luck. I want to keep my spot but he wants it bad.
I really needed this vid because I’m a junior in high school now and last year I barely even got to play and I felt like on game day, I got hyped for no reason and my time is coming
I’ve been a starter on Varsity since my Sophomore Year I play CB, WR, KR, PR nd 2nd string QB. I have also been playing since the age of 6, I’m 17 now!!!
This will be my first year of football I'm excited and nervous for fall because I wanna make the team but idk if I will or not I'm just watching this to see if I can become a starter if I make the team
Ima Saftey and a running back, and I get put in every now on then , and I never knew what to really do to get into the starters position, this video is very appropriated , thanks bro
Last year I was a 3rd String Running back because there was 5 Running backs on my team but I got a chance to be a starter because I found a trainer and worked hard everyday and listen to the coach and started to understand how to be a leader on the field and off because I wanna be great ,Right now during offseason I’m working to be a linebacker
to add on to ur tip "ball the f out" also learn to play smart. cuz I grinded the f out EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. (rest on Sunday) of the 2 years I practiced with Varsity. I out worked my starter by FAR! weights running u name it, but 1. He's a very talented athlete and 2. he played Smart, like he knew how to adjust, and react in every situation. that's why he beat me at WR. so yea
Today was my first game in football also in the season, my position is wide receiver. I never got to play today except 2 kick off plays, I made my first tackle hit today. Man it feels good.
I was a 2nd stringer last year an I only played linebacker. Now this year i might start at fullback an linebacker, this video really helped me! Thank you ikf :)
As a DB who just started playing. I without even watching this video, can verify this. I got off the bench by being at practice and doing my job. Worrying about my guy or zone. The only thing I’d add, is respect. When coaches see you respect them, subconsciously, they respect you back and cut you a little slack when necessary
I accept because yesterday my coach wanted me to play DE and I didn't know the plays for that position so I told him and miss my chance hopefully I get another chance
Thank you for the video I was in Illinois not to long ago in 6th-8th grade I was a beast I played both sides of the ball and every position except QB and TE but my position is DE and I’m in hs now in VA Jv team I’m in the 9th grade and two varsity players came down and took my DE spot and this video helped a bit I’m 2nd String and I get in the game a lot but not starting any advice
Wonderful info!!! I'm passing this link on to my son right now! I'm always looking for ways to motivate him and sometimes I guess by me being daddy, he will turn a deaf ear to some of the things I tell him................but when someone else says the EXACT same thing, its like he's hearing it for the first time. Oh well, I guess I did the same thing to my pop when i was his age (LOL)
the most important thing for sure is to show up, and have a good attitude. in the off season if there's weight training or workouts of some kind show up. I'm a starter this year I think the biggest part has been me coming and being there. when we are in the weight room and only 15 people show up the coach will remember who is there. the coach moved the last LT to guard and put me in as LT Because I showed up and put in that little bit of extra effort
The learn multiple positions really helped last year I didn’t know the right slot back routs and I couldn’t play there then I learned it and I played 8 plus downs a game
when I played DT on my high school football team I was a backup which I was cool with just in case the starter ( which was also a friend of mine.) needed some recovery time the coach put me in. of course the coach didn't call me a backup he called me a secret weapon.
+Isaac Alers fr man It's my senior year but I'm probly still not gonna start because of my .height, but I'm always there working my ass off and nothing
LeVeon Bell Juke Gang #26 for me it was my weight. But don't ever get discouraged bro. I left halfway thru my senior season bc I was there everyday had to learn a new offense and I was filling in everyday and nothing mind you I was bigger than our starting F (outside boundary receiver)
This kind of helps. In Jr. High I was a monster and coaches including high school coaches were amazed. Well I was in a co-op meaning I played for a different school because the one I was in hadn't had football. Well I couldn't co-op through my 7-10th year and I'm now coming back as a sophomore and the coaches expect of me what I had in my Jr. High seasons

Thank you so much for this.😁 I am going to be the only girl on the team this year and everyone said I would be benched and I am not going to let myself be benched. Thank you for the advice it will help a lot.😇😇😇
I'm going to be a freshman next year and am looking forward to playing football. I want to be a running back but I've been stuck playing lineman since my first year. What can I do to show my coach that I can be more than a lineman?
It depends on how good the coaches are but I came to practice everytime and got so good over time that I was a starter in my first U19 GFL game (GFL is the highest football league in germany)
I play lineman (both sides of the ball) and I'll be a freshman in August but we haven't decided starters yet I'm hoping I get to be a starter but even if I'm not I'm okay as long as we are winning and that's all that matters to me but I will push my body to the limits to be the best lineman on the team and be a starter
Ty V yes that is great size for a freshman. cut the punter position and focus on tight end. That position could get you far in football after high school
Bro thanks for the tips I've been playing football for 3 years and I'm gonna be a freshman next year and was a little nervous but thai guy helped thanks bro
I was a starting cb for varsity but I forgot something in my sign up thing so I had to miss a day of practice, and when I came back the next day a senior who’s not that good is starting over me😓
I was a back up middle line backer, but during drills I dislocated one of the starters sholders, the next game after he was healed I was a backup again 😔
This works for everybody
**except my backup**
aye that comment was hella smooth
I've been a coach, at every level, from youth to pro, and I can't find anything wrong with what he said here. Sounds good to me.

Everybody who wants to keep there position fights through pain, the line on both sides is the most important position
Saucey J thanks
Saucey J fax’s my team don’t even realize this and i got a trashy line and we run an i but i got a trashy fullback

King Fredo you're school must suck ass If a freshmen is starting on varsity
Eloy Escamilla JR yeah unless the freshman is known/ranked
did Hami yeah but a freshmen on varsity he would be in a clear disadvantage as he is 4 years younger
not really we just won the district championship and went to the state semifinal
