I just received one of these, SBSC009, Seiko 5 GMT watches. I love this watch, it looks great. Thanks for your review, that convinced me to get one. I live in the USA and found a dealer who ships to the USA on the e#bay site. Delivery was very fast. Thanks for sharing your watch interest with us all. Cheers friend!
These just dropped on 1/12/24 in Japan. Sapphire for the front and back and a screw down crown and this would blow the market away. That said, I did order one from a Japanese retailer and should be here to me in the US in a week or so.
It’s a really nice watch, I’ll be sure to look for it when I’m in Japan. I’d like to compare it with the black dial though, the white is nice but seems like it will be harder to read the watch. Thanks for the video! 👍
Really cool video. This watch is superb, reserved only for the Japanese market, not for export. Unlike the 2 other JDM versions that we can see on Rakuten for example. The landscapes in the introduction are superb, Japan is a beautiful country. Friendships from France. 🇨🇵👋👍
I wonder if that bezel could pop off and be replaced with a silver 24h directional bezel. I assume this watch is the same case, crystal etc as the diver style gmt that they make.
Gutted you can only get the black and stainless steel versions of this watch outside of Japan. The watch is nice, but the white face is really special. Will keep my eye out to see if Sekio change their minds.
Another big hit , and another big scratch especially on the hardlex crystal. good looking watch though, shame seiko dont do sapphire at this price point.
I will one day buy a Seiko 5 there nice watches .I prefer the Prospex Diver Series, the same price range £400 - £450 .IF I had the Money I would buy a Grand Seiko over a Rolex
You know what I don't like about the watch? The polished numerals. I have a Bremont Solo with polished numerals and they change color when I move my wrist. I find that annoying. When I look at the watch I want it to be the same, not always different.. Maybe I have to get used to it, but I'm considering giving it away just for that reason..
I just got this model from Japan and I have to say it's underwhelming for me in 2 major ways: I wish the watch was at least 40-41 mm and had red instead of orange colors.
Nice looking watch. Huge disappointment it comes with a hardlex crystal. Maybe $40 more to have a sapphire. But modifying this to sapphire would be $200. So dumb. Be careful, hardlex scratches when it brushes against fabric.
Seiko ruins these otherwise nice watches by making the dials too busy. If they got rid of the inner 13-24 markers, the 5 logo and the GMT text, this would be a classy timepiece worth considering.
It is Japan Domestic Market. It is like sony, if you buy a camera in Japan, the language is only in Japanese because it is only for domestic consumers, just like these watches.
@@playlifes26 To the other commenter’s point… who is “they”? Is it Seiko themselves ? So , is it a form of ‘Goodwill’ to their local customers , even though the sales/ROI on creating a separate SKU will surely be WORSE by limiting it as such? At the end of the day, it is arriving at a Business decision, and I guess we are just wondering how they arrived at that decision .
Hey @JapanTimeHobbyholic I am visiting Japan in March! I need recommendations on good places to get used watches at good prices! I have heard the Japanese have great respect for their watches! I will be in Tokyo and Osaka!
Vist Nakano, watch heaven in Tokyo. A building where the biggest name in used watches are located. They all have stores in rakuten, so you might wanna try searching there first so will you know which stores to visit... or just visit them all. Warning, temptation is strong in that place... lol.
Love this white dial version - definitely going to import one from Japan at some point
Definitely, good thing it's not limited edition.
Beautiful, love Japan… gotta get one sent to me in the USA!

Awesome! enjoy the watch.
What a handsome timepiece. Enjoyed the introduction and presentation. Hope to get this model when it reaches our shores in Malaysia.
Nice video presentation. thank you from France!
Thank you
Wao! Very nice work finding this watch. Love the watch and video. Great work!
Thank you! The only video review on TH-cam

can i ask which retailer u got it from?
Saw the black one but the white is so much better!
This is the first time ive ever preferred the white dial over the black in any watch. Looks smashing on you at the end there, enjoy 👌
Thank you
its like a budget very of a Seiko PROSPEX Alpinist GMT - 110th Anniversary or a rolex explorer 2
it looks really nice on your wrist.
Thanks
Did you see the 7-year warranty card in the unboxing? My USA Seiko is 3-year warranty.
The 7 years is from Nanaple, my favorite online retailer of Seiko. Got all my preordered Seikos from them.
It’s a really nice watch, I’ll be sure to look for it when I’m in Japan. I’d like to compare it with the black dial though, the white is nice but seems like it will be harder to read the watch. Thanks for the video! 👍

I just purchased this from a seller in Japan. Just arrived today. Beautiful watch.
Which do you prefer sir the seiko panda or the seiko field?
I am leaning more on this Field GMT.
It's really nice. What are the chances of a western general release of the white dial?
Base on Seiko's history, most likely not. But you can get them from online resellers.
@@playlifes26 thanks for the info.
a field GMT. yeah, a good reason to get one if you already have a GMT and a field watch . No Arguement. great video.
Hi! Can you share the shop where you ordered this watch please? 🙏🏼
I preoredered it at Rakuten (Japan). I think you can still buy this online. It is not a limited edition.
Hopefully mine should arrive in Australia this week!
Arrived in at home today in Melbourne today. 2 days from Japan via Hong Kong and Singapore with DHL
What website you guys ordering from?
Is it possible to mod the movement by adding a date wheel?
Then it would be perfect, along with a white day date dial
It is possible with the right parts and skill.
Nice watch, almost like explorer 2.Wish got model without western arabic numerals.
Beautiful watch!
Is the white dial only available in Japan or where did you buy?
It was only available in Japan, but there are now online sellers. They are not limited edition so they are mostly available somewhere.
mabuhay sir nice video!
Thank you.
I'm in the U.S., so I'm out of luck. This looks exactly like what I've been wanting. I hope they export something similar to the States.
Bought mine on Chrono24. No warranty here but it’s a Seiko
There is an online store that sells JDM models. let me find it.
www.japan-onlinestore.com/search?search=sbsc009&description=true
I actually bought this very watch on this site :) It's been delivered to me 2 days ago, no problem whatsoever@@playlifes26
What a beauty!
Thanks!
Kabayan nice review finally a jdm video
Salamat
I wonder if that bezel could pop off and be replaced with a silver 24h directional bezel. I assume this watch is the same case, crystal etc as the diver style gmt that they make.
Nice kabayan! Nagulat ako akala ko seikomods since kamuka ng Rolex Explorer 2. Ganda
Yup, kaya preorder ako. Akala ko nga may international release, JDM lang pala.
Nice review👍 very good!
Thank you
Where do you get your watch tools for mods?
Amazon and other online sellers here in Japan, like yahoo and rakuten.
Gutted you can only get the black and stainless steel versions of this watch outside of Japan. The watch is nice, but the white face is really special. Will keep my eye out to see if Sekio change their minds.
Another big hit , and another big scratch especially on the hardlex crystal.

I want Seiko atleast give applied screen guard on the crystal and one more extra for replacement.
There nice Watches the seiko 5 .But you can't manual wide them
It is automatic.
Good video! Thanks! Beautiful watch!
Hi, nice one! What about the lume?
I forgot to shoot the lume. I will do a shorts tonight and upload it.
th-cam.com/users/shortsVywoCKUJG8o
How's the endlinks, are they hollow or solid?
Looks like the Rolex Explorer2.
Yup, I mentioned that at the beginning of the video.
Manually Winding is better than Automatic Winding.
What legit website can we purchase this from to ship to USA?
The site below, but it is out of stock now. www.japan-onlinestore.com/
On which page can I buy this watch?
I would still prefer black dial one that is ssk023!
I will one day buy a Seiko 5 there nice watches .I prefer the Prospex Diver Series, the same price range £400 - £450 .IF I had the Money I would buy a Grand Seiko over a Rolex
Man if they just did a screw down crown with 200m it would be a hit.
Agree
We have Polar Explorer II at home
Saan po site kayo naka order? Any link po?
The white one is a Japan only model so there won't be a SSK model :)
Thanks for the info
I been waiting someone to review this one.I ordered one too
As i type this comment ilook ad the watch on my wrist. Yep, just same but with no inner numbers...................and with my own logo on the dial
You know what I don't like about the watch? The polished numerals. I have a Bremont Solo with polished numerals and they change color when I move my wrist. I find that annoying. Not correct at all I wear all my seikos with long sleeves and not a single scratch in the glass.
Seiko ruins these otherwise nice watches by making the dials too busy. If they got rid of the inner 13-24 markers, the 5 logo and the GMT text, this would be a classy timepiece worth considering.
I don't understand this "jdm" type of sell... i simply don't. If someone around the world wants to buy your watch, why not selling it to that person?
It is Japan Domestic Market. It is like sony, if you buy a camera in Japan, the language is only in Japanese because it is only for domestic consumers, just like these watches.
@@playlifes26 well, i understood that part. What i fail to comprehend is what the brand has to gain in doing so
Sometimes they want to have exclusive thing for themselves. I live here in Japan and a lot of brands do that.
@@playlifes26 my point exactly.
