I don't understand why people aren't acknowledging that the reason the red flag was the right call was because there was an accident in a corner with damaged barriers, where NUMEROUS cars were repeatedly sliding into, and marshals were going to have to be on track. It was clearly a saftey issue for those workers, and even Crofty kind of posed a hypothetical question as to whether it was the right call.
Exactly. Zhou was in a position that if someone else also locked up, an easy thing to happen in those conditions, they would have gone straight into him. It still amazes me how many times Crofty can be so wrong about something and yet he keeps going down the wrong path. His method of talking continuously doesn’t give him a chance to think. How many times has he gotten something completely wrong and kept going with it? He also seems to try and stir up drama that way. Usually Martin is there to pour cold water on it though. This race was on another level though. Crofty and Sky were really pushing hard for a conspiracy about the Max/Checo pit stop. Even while Max was massively faster than Checo and easily reeled in a 14 sec lead Checo had.
ikr, literally having equipment to remove the car or just marshals in the gravel cuts off the runoff so they had to red flag. that turn was bin-able at any speed. I bet they wouldn't have flagged for conditions until another 1 or 2 ppl ran off if Zhou hadn't binned it

When watching Dutch GP, I realized, that many people keep saying that this is not a good track for overtaking, yet since Zandvoort came back in 2021 we've had exciting races, with quite bit of overtakes...There are some other tracks that should give more overtaking opportunities, yet there's very little of proper "track fights".
Ferrari pitstop without tyres you can't even blame the team for that. It was Leclercs smart ass diving into the pits and only telling the team at the pit entrance that caused that stupidity. Matt needs to start holding Leclerc accountable for his own mistakes.

Gratitude is a great response to it all, Matt. ✌️
So excited and happy for you two. Was up in Oz in awe of this GP.
The way Max still one to equal history despite a chaotic race with many incidents and changeable weather reminds me of Turkey 2020.
That was when Lewis scrubbed his wets down to slicks and got his 7th right?
@@KAIJUCHOMPS Yeah
Sargeant did actually have a hydraulic failure, if you look at the replay he's turning right trying to stay on track and the wheels stay straight
Yes max caught Perez fast, by like the 9th lap or something. But the fact, Zhou in the same time, in an Alpha dropped the gap from 12 seconds to 4 by the time they went to softs on Perez was probably all the evidence redbull need to get rid of him. Mans so slow in that car. Baaaarely held onto 2nd when he had it.
Full on banger! Thank you Matt & Tommy for sharing your unbridled enthusiasm for this amazing sport with us!!!
Liam was great for a debut on these conditions but it's unfair to say he beat Tsunoda. The team handed Yuki a terrible strategy. They ruined what could've been points not pitting him and thinking he was gonna whisper those tires like Albon. 😂
Also his car got damaged just before he started to fall off
Checo was lucky at the end because he did not get a possible 10s penalty for casually ignoring the agreed upon emergency exit after leaving the track.
I never even considered Checo winning the race when he was 14 seconds in front. Especially not in the wet conditions.
At this point, there are no more tears for Matty to cry.
What a banger of a race!! I was actually concerned that Max wouldn’t win!
A watch along today would have been epic! Glad you boys got to soak it in for real!
The rain at the start was the sweet spot, enough to shuffle the grid and not impede with vision
Insert Tommy trying but failing to contain his laughter at another Ferrari strategy moment 😂😂😂
The reason why ferrari didnt had the tyres ready was because Charles came into the pits without telling them
I feel like at this point the FIA should take out a restraining order on Matt; interviews Piastri and Ricciardo, crash and broken wrist. Wears a Forza Ferrari bracelet, ends Charles' career
the only reason they weren't ready with the tyres is because Leclerc called for box as he was driving down the pitlane 😭😭they still did a pretty decent job trying to recover
Omg, that is THE BEST Tommy’s Tasty Tweet I’ve seen yet.
i was there, 1st time i visited a F1 race. And what a banger. Even the rain could not bring us down. You are right about the energy and the party. 15/10 would go again.
I’m thinking about taking my family in a couple of years. Would you recommend? Kids would be 12 and 6
I have seen kids there. Even baby's. The kids would love it (baby's not so much). There is enough to do outside of the racetrack to keep them busy. Although once you are on the circuit area, you can not leave the area to go to the hotel or camping. you need to stay there untill you have had enough. @@elizabethmartin6986
What a great race! So much action❤
When the race starts with rain threat, why dont all teams stand by with inters after the lights go out? 🤔🏎
I'm so glad this Dutch GP was wet/changable conditions. The last 2 years was great beach weather but this felt more at home🌦
Well the rain started really quick
The one time I enjoyed our Dutch summers.
That was the best one ever! You made me laugh so much just now...thank you to both of you. 10/10
Remember 2014 and 2015 and all the hype about this Max kid? I think he's living up to that hype.
When Logiebear's accident happened, he said over the radio that something strange happened with the car. It fits with want James Vowles said.
Ferrari pitstop without tyres you can't even blame the team for that. It was Leclercs smart ass diving into the pits and only telling the team at the pit entrance that caused that stupidity. Matt needs to start holding Leclerc accountable for his own mistakes.
i mean max killed it this weekend...9 wins in a row, you should interview him on the podcast...what the worst thing that could happen :)))
My goodness, what a race. But what was alpha tauri doing? Yuki was holding Norris, Hamilton and Piastri. Then they pitted, but Yuki stayed out UNTIL they were again at his back. He lost 20+ seconds
You know bro has impressive sanity to scroll through Twitter and not go insane, unless he's already insane
He's a Ferrari fan, insanity resistance is included
Matt went insane about 1 year ago
@@TheMissiIeworse, he is a Leclerc fan too.
My f1 weekends aren’t finished until this video comes out thanks P1!
I love this man. Soon as the race started, I ran to twitch and couldn’t find him lmao
I saw comments in Prema pitstop video that ferrari will reclaim their throne... didn't expect they'll reclaim it hours after that 😂😂
I had to do a double take when I saw you on the broadcast standing there in awe watching the podium Matt 😂. That Williams is going to be absolutely rapid down the main straight at Monza next week! 🤞 Can't wait for your guys' coverage. ♥️ from 🇦🇺
We can complain about the tires all we like but Leclerc said he made the call knowing they wouldn’t ready but it was faster than doing another lap on drys
They should have been ready before the green. Everyone knew it was likely. The only question was which car they needed tires for.
nice that you were a guest at Giedo and Joost from DRS the race show. It has become a fun podcast and definitely worth listening to
Was so lovely to meet you guys! 🤩
Ferari is like tyres are gone not on track in the pits🤣🤣❤️🤣
"We had Ferarri trying to do a pit stop... without tires..." blink blink "Go figure..."
Just,
it was the first race in a long time where i sat glued the entire race instead of doing other stuff in the background
good sign of a right banger
Actually it wasn‘t Ferraris fault that there were no tyres at the pit stop, it was Leclerc who came in without the crew ready, because he thought it would cost him less time than staying out.
You have my approval to interview baby Lewis every week for the rest of the season.
Great amazing work you guys! Completely deserve all these things happening to you and the channel!
Love your funniest tweets today love your show and we watch every show from Australia .
I just sat there watching McLaren not pitting and couldn't believe my eyes 😢
A live replay of Russia
And then pitting when it was already too late
Both McLaren and Williams botched it in this race with the intent to preserve track position.
@@evodude919Mercedes were the worst at it, they managed to take George from p3 to p18.
Honestly as a Russell fan this whole race was just an endless kicking in the dick, from Mercedes formulating the worst possible strategy to the late puncture that ruined his race.
Why is no-one talking about the MASSIVE swapper Gorge had on the hards while Hamilton was behind him because OMG I nearly had a heartattack watching it.
How he didn't completely yeet himself out of the race at that point I have no idea, that was crazy!
Not a george fan but that save was superb.
SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP!
I need this.
I love that Matt’s emotional breakdown over Ferrari is sponsored by Mercedes
It wasn't Ferrari's fault for them not having the tires ready, it was Leclerc's for the late call. He was basically entering the pit at the time
Having the tyres ready like other teams wouldn’t hurt.
2:41 Did he just say... Next week Monza, we're gonna bin it?
i confirm on TV the team radio with Sainz was 'at the moment we don't think' and I thought 'the whole season we don't think........🤣🤣🤣🤣
Am calling it now...Matt and Tommy to pass WTF1 in subs by this same time next year. I know there isnt any bad blood (based on what they allowed to say) but currently they cant hold a candle to Matt and Tommy.
