Yeah I have the Gel-Rocket 11 in white. Pretty nice shoes although I find they could be lighter. They’re pretty comfortable, grippy and stylish. I can’t really recommend them as oppose to badminton specific shoes because I’ve never used any. I’d recommend the shoes if you’re on a budget though!
I'm using Blast FF 3 currently and it's the best shoes for badminton by far. I have used Yonex and Victor high-end shoes, none of them as comfortable, as sturdy as this. A new level of confidence around court for me. No slippery problem for me btw.
I'm using Gel Rocket 11 for the past 6 months on a rubber court. No problems so far. The Gel is very useful for people with knee problem as it absorbs a lot of impact. Bought it for US$55 which I think is reasonable for a good quality shoe.
Gel rocket 11 is very basic, not enough padding, also the gel (I am not sure that's gel ) is very very small, I don't think a tiny bit of gel/material wd make some difference. U try the task series or tactic 12 to feel the magic effect of asics cushion.
Having used the asics court control FF 2 for a few years, I can say it's a solid shoe. I've also used Yonex shoes, but for me, ASICS shoes last longer. Even with my habit of dragging my left foot, the ASICS are holding up well.
Something worth mentioning (for UK viewers at least) is that Asics offer a 90-day trial if you sign up as a member (which is free). I.e. you can try these shoes for 90 days and still return them if you're not happy. I've recently bought the Beyond FF for badminton and a GR9 for tennis. I can't name any other brand who offers a similar option with most, if not all, requiring them to be unused if you want to return.
i own four pairs of asics shoes across different models, and i agree with you on the slippery issue. even with a gummi out sole model, it still get more slippery than expected in dirty multifunction halls
I personally have been wearing yonex shoes for as long as i remember, many of my friends wear asics and most of them have the same issue with slipping around as we often play in multi purpose halls that are not really in the cleanest conditions, cleaning the outsole before every game kind of works but im sure there is a more permanent solution
Using Asic's Beyond FF currently, way better stability, cushioning and torsional support compared to Mizuno wave claw and wave pro and yonex 65z I was using previously, and the uppers never wore a hole around the area where you drag your feet unlike the mizuno and yonex which shows damage after first 2 sessions. Downside is they're higher, so doesn't feel as agile as the wave claw and 65z
i've used Blade FF for around 5 months and it's been great for me. i feel like they sacrifice some tech and additional comfort/support for lightness, and i personally really like playing with lighter shoes. they can be slippery at times however, so once these are done i'm probably gonna go for those lightweight Yonex shoes that you recommend as my next choice.
The problem with ASICS ? They are the only shoes which fits perfect on my foot. 😅. I tried Victor ins yonex premium shoes. But the ASICS fits better. I use ASICS since I’m a kid and played handball and volleyball with them
Hi my friend purchased them from uk and bring rocket 11 for me he did not know nor did I that these are for indoor can i use them for simple walking outside i walk daily not jogg for 1 hour
I wear Asics Netburner Ballistic FF. They are quite good, even though they might be slippy. Unfortunately, it’s all I can get since I wear a EUR size 49…
Have been playing badminton in Blast FF for about 2 month. I have the same issue with CK. I mop the floor before playing when it's possible, so it's acceptable. I also playing in 65z3 for a few month and I was getting blister constantly. Blast FF is actually marketed as badminton shoe in China.
Ck if you really don't mind as you're testing the series of all 88d rackets rn, I'm currently using astrox nextage which i absolutely love and I really need a back up racket where I'm in dilemma of whether to get 88 play or the 88d game or the 100 game, what's your suggestion?
Hey i need some words, my racket's string is cutting into the racket which means like the grommet isnt holding it, the string cut through my racket a little already and my racket is made up of graphite, what should i do is it okay or should i cut the strings before it does more damage or something?
Ck, can you please review Astrox 88 play and compare it with Arcsaber 11 play. Which will be better for Allround game play. For both doubles and singles and both attack and defence
Great video CK. I’ve always used ASICS as ‘badminton brand’ shoes always feel too tight around my feet but I do agree in multipurpose halls they can be slippy 🤦♂️👍
Tried the rocket 11 in the shop.. it's really hard & stiff the padding is really lacking. The comfort of the yonex shoes of the same price range is way better.
I've been noticing that a lot of pros with Yonex shoes are wearing some sort of strapping on their knees/thigh. Compared to LN/Victor shoes. Or is it just me? 😅
Im rocking gel rocket 11 Weight, comfort, traction, stability, overall pretty good, even on dusty beaten up multi-purpose court Got em for 700.000idr (around 40usd), definitely best bang for the buck
Before discovering Li-Ning badminton shoes, I was rotating between Salming, Mizuno, Babolat Badminton, Hi-Tec, Adidas (indoor court; not badminton), & Asics. I found shoes specifically made for squash & volleyball to be the most durable but depending on the model to be a bit heavier in weight.
Hi CK, nice video and explanation about the shoes. can you please recommend some good durable badminton shoes?(for me, badminton shoes last for a maximum of 3 months). I have tried Asics (Model: Gel-Courtmov), Yonex (model: AE17 and SHB 65X3 Ex Power ), and Hundred brand (Model: Raze) shoes for now.
As always a great video but I won't change from Yonex Shoes - how to trust a brand which is not part of this sport and have no expierence what we need as player on the court such as YONEX, Victor or Li Ning that's my opinion on this.
Hey, my size is 50.5 EU, and asics is the only brand that make that size for Badminton/Squash/Indoor sports. There are other brands that provide shoes for running, hiking, etc.
I replaced a pair of gel blade for a pair of blade FF and after 3 months the sole is falling apart near the central connection. The Gel Blade are more durable.
Thanks for the review. Currently using the Court FF 3, it's been amazing. My previous was Court FF2 previously. So far no issues with grip as I usually play on rubber mats. Have never tried any Yonex shoes but might get one just to compare. :)
Redflag on court ff3 is pgguard upper part torn after few months due to 2 pieces of fabric sew with 2 stich lines. Currently me and my wife is switching to skyelite ff 3, known as volleyball-indoor shoes but this latest version is low to ground, much more court feels and efficiency center transition.

Hi CK, Can you please suggest which will be better. Yonex Astrox 88 play (3rd Gen) or Arcsaber 11 play. Want a racquet for both Doubles and singles. Both Attack and Defence. Basically a allround racquet. Or any racquet would you suggest from Yonex other than these 2?? Adding Astrox 88 play to this comparison because Astrox is singles focused series but there 88d and 88s are doubles focused. And 88 play might be blend of both 88s and 88d. So might be suitable for both Doubles and singles and both Attack and Defence. Please suggest which one to take for a allround game play in singles and doubles both.
I haven't played with these rackets but luckily had dry swings with all three and long story short I felt the 3rd gen 88 was smoothest of all and also slight head heavy which most certainly would translate into better smashing . Personal opinion of mine when buying Cheaper rackets go for the head heavier rackets because soon you will feel the limitations of the even balance and head light rackets . Also you can use higher tension on strings comfortably on Head heavy rackets because on light one's with High tension feels like playing with wooden log no repulsion at all. Soo good for 3rd gen 88. 👍
Lol, except for the grip issue, everything else is great. Ha! Kinda a key element for a shoe 😅 Tbf I've personally only tried two brands over the years (I change quite frequently). Yonex I find has a higher peak levels of grip but can drop off dramatically/very easily when it sees dust on court. Durability is appalling nowadays for yonex IMHO. Pushed way too far on 'lightweight-ness' I guess it's better for business. Victor has a lower max grip level but has better ability on dustier courts (or the grip difference isn't as pronounced because of lack of peak grip). I assumed they used slightly harder rubber compound. 🤷
Have you tried Asics shoes for badminton?

good job on the video. hope to see more content
I am looking forward to see some budget rackets reviews 😍
If I play mostly on rubber mats and all things considered, would you recommend asics court control over yonex 65z3?

I really liked it when I bought the low end upcourt model, but one con was that the shoe lace provided was pretty short.

My one main problem with ASICS badminton shoes? They're expensive as heck. 😅
They have cheaper variant like the rocket?
Compared to high end badminton yonex ?

no they r not. a quite similiar with yonex shb, but with better looking and performance (underrated in badminton)

I used Court Control FF 1. The shoe is too narrow for me. Narrower than Yonex. Do you feel that as well?
Yonex have wide models but I'm not sure Asics have wide options for these models.
