I’m in a Paul Mitchell school and I’m super confused with this hair cut when it was shown this way so I went and saw other videos that only sectioned 4 sections so is the 6 sections a Paul Mitchell thing or is it a Maryland state board thing??
Such a great question thanks for the comment. So the 6 sections help to maintain control of the sections. It really is the most basic approach to it. Depending on your skill level you could just use two sections. Left and right and take lie sections all the way around. State board doesn’t care how many sections just that fact that you do section. Hope that makes sense. Happy testing
Great question and thanks for watching! So the doll will go from dry to wet to covered in mock product. First is the thermal curls and then eyebrow services, then haircut, blood exposure, perm, chemicals and lastly the acrylic nail.
@@kathrynfannoney8752 great question. Wetting the doll is part of the 40 minutes. I would suggest that you just use your water bottle instead of the provided shampoo bowls. The doll must maintain its draping during the whole process.
Yes on your mannequin. I have two videos for that on my channel check them out. Because your mannequin doesn’t have real eyebrows it’s mock. Your mannequin has hair and you actually cut it so it’s like one of the only real services you preform.
Yes ma’am but keep in mind that the doll will have a cape on it so it might be hard to lift and reposition. I suggest that u loosen and turn then tighten the stand
Little Pollyanna it is true it shouldn’t matter much but ur goal should always be to finish the cut. The task lines state all the hair needs to be cut with elevation and blended so u might receive a point deduction of 1-2 simply because a unfinished cut wouldn’t be blended. You would also probably loose a point for sweeping at the end so all in all -3 from 19 not a big deal. Happy testing
four babie oh yeah definitely. It’s a point accumulation and the haircut is only 19 points u can miss something like 35 points and still pass. Just do ur best

When In the process of the test do you wet the doll head. Based off your videos last I saw the doll was dry and being used for curls.

is it possible to pass the practical if you bum the haircut? really having a hard time getting this haircut down and im feeling discouraged :/

You are just cutting the guide for length so elevation is not going to affect
and don’t you use the razor up to the ear ?
