Thank you so much for posting this! My instructor made me feel weird for switching hand positions and body positions while cutting below the occipital bone. She wanted me to cut hair her way and it made me feel uncomfortable. This gave me so much confidence and I just got my cosmetology license yesterday!

Tammy Cottom Yea, hers was very nice and neat but make sure you do the requirements that your state requires because in TX we are suppose to cut the perimeter around the whole head with the razor first.

I'm in KY,we don't have to use the razor at all in this state,other to just demonstrate that you know how. Nor do we have to cut the perimeter

@autrylearnnow I was told to we couldn’t use a ruler back comb at state board to measure. So any clue on if that’s true or not?

This is how I was taught at Heritage. It's literally just 90 degrees from the scalp over the entire head. THERE IS no other way to teach it.
