What is most interesting in Byredo is the story of creative director Ben Gorham. Gorham's father is from Canada and his mother is from India. He had a talent for basketball and received a basketball scholarship to Ryerson University in Toronto, after which he had a professional basketball career in Italy and Germany. To be able to complete the professional contract, Gorham needed to have Swedish citizenship, which led to him moving back to Sweden. However, his application for citizenship was rejected and he ended his basketball career. So Gorham returned to Stockholm and studied art at the art school in Stockholm, and during his studies began working with scented candles. The fragrance ideas were further developed in collaboration with the perfumer Pierre Wulff, and in 2006 he started the perfume house Byredo. Byredo is Sweden's first perfume house and has become very successful.
Oh how I love this story! I’m Canadian, and I wear Inflorescence by BYREDO which I discovered in Montreal after my sister gave me a sample of this fragrance that didn’t suit her 🤪🥰❣️
I am old enough to remember the original l’interdit that was created for Audrey and the re-release does not smell as intoxicating as the original 😢 It was my mom’s favorite and I still have a teeny bit left in the last bottle she bought before they discontinued selling it! It has actually held up for all these years but I don’t wear it, I just smell the bottle for childhood memories of my classy and elegant mama!
Foxymama: I understand you very well, my dear! The sensi of smell likevtadtecand musica, Brindisi backup memorie of love ones. And I too jeep the half-empty bottles...because yhey are jndflinle memories. Greetings from Rome/Italy
FOXYMAMA: I'm so sorry for the typing errors: the fault of the autocorrecting device! However, I wanted to say that the sense of smell, like taste and music, is able to bring back good memories immediately, even far back in time. I would add that I also keep the half-empty perfume bottles (my mother's and grandmother's) because they are indelible memories. Bye!
Darling you look so stunning in this shade of blue. You are definitely glowing with motherhood. I'm so happy for you both. May your little bundle of joy bring you and your family many blessings.
I have been interested in fragrances and smells in general since I was a child. When I was 2 years old, I used to love the smell of leather. My parents were buying me leather shoes and what I was doing first was smelling them. I was sleeping by hugging my new and of course, unworn shoes and keeping them close to my nose! Eventually, I studied perfumery :) I guess I was born with it.
Valo Dimopoulou: So do I, dear. Jokingly, my husband says that there are three of us in the family: me, him and my nose! You know, sonetimes it's a blessing, sometimes a problem, if the stelle around you aren't exactly pleasant. Anyway: take advantage of this gift of yours and study to become a "nose", an "artisan perfumier". Have you been in Grasse (Provence/France). And allow me another advice: real "The perfume" by Patrick Süsskind...You'll love it. Bye!

Thank you!!! I loved this video so much. I find that the stories we associate with certain fragrances are so special. One of my favourites, Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud, was also purchased at Harrod’s during a very meaningful trip to London with my sister a couple of years before she passed away. When I smell it, I am flooded with beautiful memories. 💗
The dress, stunning, gorgeous, beautiful. You definitely have the pretty glow on and if I'm not mistaken a new colour in your hair, beautiful just beautiful. My Fragrance list has just grown a little more. Fragrance to me is an essential, like brushing your teeth, it's something you do and wear every day. If there is ever a rare time when I have missed it, at the first opportunity I go and purchase one at morning tea or lunch, I'm not able to function without a fragrance on board every day that includes house work or even the gardening. Thank you for sharing your personal fragrances. Oh the joy of shopping for a new fragrance, bliss, 😊❤
Same thing. I use parfume all the time. I only use same about three days because I don, t want to be anosmic. I feel naked without parfume. I mostly use niche parfume.
I've worn L'interdit for years! I grew up with the "Hepburn girls" (Audrey and Katherine) as my idols, so as soon as I found out the scent was being made available to the public, I bought it.....very expensive but worth it. I still have it on my beauty counter (with La Vie Est Belle and Chanel No. 5).
My daughter and I are OBSESSED with Memo Paris fragrances! They are so unique that we get stopped all the time. My favorites are Tamarindo and Ila do Mel, Sintra is a second. My daughter LOVES Lalibella and Marfa, Winter Palace is a second. I treat myself to fragrance when I need a little bit of serenity!
Jennifer Peterson: grateful for that information; unbelievable, but true: I had never heard of this brand! Their wonderful home page has already "kidnapped" me...so I'm going to investigate further and look for places to try them out! Kind regards from Rome/Italy
I have always loved perfume! Thank you so much for sharing your favorites. One of my most treasured childhood memories is my mother tucking me in at night after she and my dad went out for the evening. Mom would dab on some of her precious Chanel No. 5. The beautiful scent of Chanel No. 5 combined with the chilly evening air clinging to her clothes is what I remember when she leaned over to kiss me goodnight.

Hi Andreea Acqua Alegoria Mandaribe Basilic is permanently in my collection. I've gone through many bottles. Unfortunately the so-called "l'Interdit" launched by Givenchy a couple of years ago has nothing to do with the original/vintage one created for Audrey Hepburn. It is a new fragrance. Givenchy "killed" the vintage perfume to use its name for that new creation. Such a pity ...
Francoise Breysse: Just as you say, dear, it's a pity! And it's a good thing we "mature girls" retain our olfactory memory! For example, I remember perfectly Chanel 5 and Chanel 19 (in the Sixties). They were totally different, compared to today, where they are much more banal, cheap. I have spoken to several niche perfumers and a "nose". They explained to me that it depends on several factors: the raw materials, the aldehydes, the (lower) target at which the manufacturers aim and... the cost of production. But I always think that 'less is more' and that good quality should be preserved - always. Best regards from Rome, L.
Love the makeup in this video. I adore fragrance and couldn’t live without it….I’m always interested to know what others like to wear…..you did a great job with this video. ♥️♥️♥️
I love fragrances and I’ve been collecting them since I was little.Right now I’m using fanatically the Bulgari perfumes the Magnolia,Tuberose and Roman nights are my favourites. Next up I love the Jean Paul Gaultier scandal and classique. I also have l’interdit it’s perfect for a daily use. Lastly i used regularly the paco rabbane pure XS. For fall my favourite is the ysl black opium and J’adore. What can I say I have a huge collection. My family gifts me perfumes cause they know I collect them. Probably my obsession started from my mother. She too loves perfumes her favourites are the gaultier and the mugler she too has the scandal I familiarised this from her. I’d say I’m more of a sweeter scent definitely floral bouquet, vanilla etc.I feel great when people compliment the way I smell and say I have a great taste.Fragrance is unique for everyone it smells different from one person to another.

One of the most fascinating videos ever!
