The best thing going for Brian, to address the concerns on his health, is that he is completely healthy. He's reported recently that he's got no pain in his back, hips, joints, etc, and no lingering injuries. He's also lost weight, I think he's down to 400 lbs, and he looks amazing as a result.
Love to hear it. We truly could be looking at a new Shaw dynasty.
Devon is the perfect coach!
The collab is super exciting! Would love to see Brian train with someone like Shawn long term.
How is Devon the perfect coach? I am a hige Devon fan, and yes he is one of the best pullers of all time, but in the last 20 years he has not produced a bunch of other champions . Devon has a club that supports HIM, not the other way around.
Believe me Devon is the better coach and the better arm wrestler

@@doesntmakeadent6033 now imagine if there were a coach even better than Devon...would you not want him to train Shaw? I also didn't say a word about Devon's abilities on the table. I'm just promoting someone I believe would greatly help Shaw. Nothing weird here.

Devon just went to see him and get him excited, Derek Smith went over to his home gym last year and did the same.
He needs more pros to go and get him really pumped to show what he can do on the table.

Shawn has plenty of his own success. Don't think he likes Devon much though.
Bitter? Sure, that’s it. Pretty sure I stated Devon is a way better armwrestler than me.
Devon has the worst sportsman ship in the history of arm wrestling. And is consistently toxic. It's not bitter and it's not hating - that is a fact.
And he uses that to get more views. In fake wrestling they call that a "heel". But Devon doesn't just play the heel ... he isn't acting most of the time...

Did you expect something different. There's clubs and high level pullers all over. I'm sure Shaw will cause a huge influx of even more.
Funny thing is that he thinks Devon is more worried about his Media platform than training Brian but hes on here in a media video expressing he would be a better trainer. Lol. Who has most recently arm wrestled Levan in a super match, who now knows the strength and weaknesses of most of the top super heavyweights because he arm wrestled most of them in this last year? Devon may be a bit hard to follow in training because his mind goes 100mph but there isn't anyone more well versed with each person in the super heavyweight division.
Devon does have a lot of experience! I wouldn't turn down learning from him. Shawn is not a current online personality though, so I don't think your "gotcha" really applies. I believe Shawn has known Devon before he got famous and he's speaking to how he sees him now compared to then.
I remember watching Shawn back in the day him and Ryan ,Scott and Gene and so on Shawn was really good in a Bench Shirt .

I think a coach needs to be availability im not sure Devon has that or wants that responsibility.

It seems like Shaw definitely has an interest after watching the Devon training video. I think the challenge match with Chance Shaw will be a better determining factor.
Shaw must train and talk with different people. Why not? The other Americans can help him to elevate his game. It's fun to watch this journey.

On top of having one of the best coaches on the east coast, one thing I also forgot to mention is we also have a Kevin Kahler :) Someone who has the strength to help Brian work up to Levan.

Great interview. Agree that maybe the greatest AW in the world are not necessarily the best at coaching, the same idea carries into Strongman. Shawn would understand where Brian is coming from 2000% more than a endurance-athlete soldier (Dev) or a professional gamer (Derek). My 25-years-in-strength-sports $0.02

Devon is (probably) the best technical arm wrestler..and if it’s not to advanced for Brian Shaw ..so if he gets it..probably nobody better than Devon..& btw it’s great that Devon does this Ambassador role 💪🤘
Devon is awesome and his collab with Shaw is good for everyone and the sport. Collabing with more pros like Lattimer as well would only help. Very technical guy.
I would like to train with brian, being comparable in height and weight. I'm one of the largest to pull in the USA. Shawn has always been a great guy and good friend.

His success rate against Levan is the same as Devon's. 0 pins. Devon however has actually armwrestled Levan.
Shawn admits Devon is a better arm wrestler. That doesn't directly equate to coaching though.
